What I love the most as drummer and drum cam fanatic is that I can see and experience every drummer's soul through their style. Music is everything to me, it's a pleasure to play drums.
its always interesting to see the different set-up , the way the throne is set up it just proves that there isnt a right way, its whatever feels good to you.
Who cares about technique? I have great respect on Jaska. For me Jukka Nevalainen (Ex Nightwish) is the best drummer in the world, and I'm pretty sure his technique sucks. At least it's not economical. He plays with all his heart, giving audience everything he has every night, and that is what matters the most. He is like young Lars Ulrich, but Jukka can also play ;) Nightwish' new drummer, Kai Hahto is technically better, faster and is precise like an atomic clock, but I would take Jukka on my band without hesitation. So, it's not about technique, but soul and spirit, and of course one has to have good sense what sounds good on song.
Kinda late to reply here, but technique is just something to allow you to play what you wanna play. Jaska is a very precise and musical drummer who has written more or less perfect drum parts for the music. Jukka from Nightwish is also a drummer of world class and his technique isn't optimized either. If it sounds and feels good to the listener, then the drummer has reached his goal. The mindset in your comment is the same mindset a lot of drummers share, and is why they never get anywhere cause they're too busy focusing on technique and forget to actually play music.

Amazing killer drummer, but why does it look like Jaska has short legs lmao

His hands are mediocre, no technique at all.
