Zero based budgeting SAVED my wife and I's finances. Before budgeting, we were deep in debt with barely to no emergency fund and savings. Then in November of 2018, we had the "I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of being broke" moment. We decided to start budgeting using this app and followed Dave Ramsey's baby steps, then after almost 2 years, we paid off all our debt, fully funded our 6-month emergency fund, saved money in all our sinking funds then started saving in our 401k. Praise God for Dave Ramsey's life-changing financial teachings!
Giving can be charity (e.g. like giving to a church) or gifting (e.g. one-off purchase for a friend). Giving is optional really... Eventually if you earn enough income to give back to others, feel free to do so if you want.
I give to charities that align with my values and support communities I find in need. I select three or four every year and add them to my budget; I also see if my company will match my giving to boost awareness and support.

I love this, at the same time, I appreciate your clear and short explanation.

Excellent Explanation..🫶🏽
Nice! Thanks for the explanation 👍
Giving? Why is giving number one? What is that? Like giving to the church?

I skip that step
No one gave me s*** when I needed it
I write off as much cash charities contributions and donations as allowed on my taxes each year.
Paying debt is not expenses
This is being done for ages. What’s new in this other than the renaming it differently.
👍👍
