Nice ride again. Chill moments. Ya I met a bike tourer doing the opposite route LA to DC I think. He wasn't filming at all and hit centuries each day. I would agree that doing 50 miles and filming a bit each day is better. You can really enjoy the moment, plus you'll have a nice movie at the end to share for years to come. Without logging any video, ya I could see possible 200 miles a day, but for a longer tour I think lower miles is better to protect the butt and legs so you can do mileage each day vs. records set. For a week ride, maybe you'd do 200 milers but I think a long tour is so much cooler long term.
Dude, love your videos. They tide me over until I can take my next trip! A tip for your tire situation: whenever you get a flat, make it a habit to inspect your tire for anything sharp that may be stuck in it. I run my hand on the inside of the tire, in both directions. Could be a thorn or a little bit of wire you picked up on the road. Also check your rim for anything that could be causing you to get flats. Also, bike up here to Canada and Ill buy you dinner.
I learned last year that when it starts raining, break out the wet weather gear. Got soaked, but was still staying warm. Once the sun went down it all went sideways. I had to have a family member pick me up.
Did that sign really say the population was less than 100?? 😂 then a Prada shop in the middle of nowhere. That’s funny. Congrats on 1k subs. Make sure you don’t forget to turn on the pay button for all your hard work!
You should have stayed in Marfa and watched the mysterious lights! I’m so impressed with what you’re doing this looks crazy! What an adventure and all done with a positive attitude!
i can't believe you made it thru texas and the desert and all those rest places and never ran into one rattlesnake you are one lucky guy---great videos!
The weather on that misty day from Marathon to Marfa was bizarre! It felt humid, but only was a dry cool subtly clammy humidity I've only ever felt in the desert.
It is a shame that I just saw your videos this evening. If I had known you were in Marathon, TX, I would have bought dinner and breakfast for you. Also, I noticed that you stayed at the Marathon Motel & RV Park in the dry camping area. Not a bad place at all. I know Hwy 90 very well. I go out on a several-day tour each month. My last tour was from Marathon to Ft. Davis State Park and back. The trip from Ft. Davis State Park to the McDonald Observatory was a killer. The "Loop" is a great one-day ride. I enjoy the solitude of Hwy 90. So far in my travels along the Hwy, I have seen a bear, javelina, elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, two bobcats, and one mountain lion. Safe travels and I am enjoying your videos!
I start getting toast between 30 to 60 miles. I think it has more to do with my food intake in the morning. I'm trying to practice and get more comfortable with distnace. I want to save up some leave from work and ride across louisiana. Take a few days. but it's a goal.
Obvious First Question... How much WATER did you carry each day? You're right! Regarding keeping your daily milage around or under 50 miles per day. For the life of me, I don't understand why cycle tourist feel the need to put in insane amounts of miles EVERY DAY. Enjoy the tour, your on a bicycle.
9:47, exhibit ABCDEFG, small places manage public buildings and assets so much better than larger places. My city would've torn that building down, built 10 more and torn each of those down, and passed 15 bonds for 250 million dollars.
Your videos are getting better and better. Hope your trip is still going well. I am on day 25 and 1100 miles into my 4000 mile trip from Miami to Seattle. My videos aren’t as polished lol. ua-cam.com/play/PLlUsEKWuEwx6cojZc9IxUFAB_KU54m9ZD.html&si=ctZy0tV5asSeeyAC
This is giving me Bob Ross of bicycles vibes
The pants incident was wicked funny. I'm enjoying your trip, thanks for the travelogue!

Dude, to think that you did that ride in that heat while putting the camera out and going back to get it is crazy!
Can’t believe you are trying that trip on that bike
You really need to get some mr tuffy tire liners for your tires to keep your flat issues down. Check the nearest bike shop for them.
Absolutely love each and every one of your videos and your sense of humor. Keep them coming. Happy trails.
Keep pedaling BF! Enjoying your journey. Don’t get caught with your pants down, lol.
West Texas is the Best Texas!
When are you coming through Navasota, Tx? We can come out and give you support or a place to stay!

Remote but beautiful country you should have routed down to big bend. Good luck on your trip. Enjoying the vids
It's nice to hear nature and everything in the background when the music is off... makes it seem like I'm there or something. Thanks

Guy who found you changing didn’t seem like the friendliest guy in west Texas.

This has to be the best so far! Loved the library / playground / outdoor gym. So funny!!! Also, the pants dude didn’t seem too amused lol
The sun is trying hard to remove your nose 😂. Awesome journey-love it!!

Are you using tire liners??
sunscreen please 🙏
Are you riding a Brooks saddle?
I wonder if it would be worth it to you to invest in tubeless tires and rims
I’ve ridden from Coleman Tx to El Paso Tx twice. 500mi of nothing

You had the cowboy hat on backwards.

A double century on a fully loaded touring bike never happened. Ever.
