    Hi Mike,
I really enjoy your book reviews, but I wonder how you manage to read all these books so deeply in such a short period of time. I struggle to finish even one book. Please let us know your method, and thank you for this.

@@IlYa-d3s Hi there, thanks for your comment. I suggest that you forget about the idea of finishing books entirely. Read for joy, wisdom, and because it enhances every aspect of your life. It's nobody else's business what, how and why you read. If you want to read one or two books you really love and it gives you meaning and comfort to do that, I'd be a fool to judge you for that. Maybe you would benefit from following a concept (like I did with this channel) to guide your reading. Everyone's different.
Since starting this project I have consistently read almost every day for about 1-2 hours. I have discovered many wonderful stories and a handful that made me spend weeks or months on them. But I don't read every book deeply and I make note of it when that is the case. I practically skimmed the 2nd part of Samarkand because it didn't interest me like the 1st half (and it feels like another book entirely). I have barely opened some of the books that I discuss in videos, but I always try to make this clear. I recognize that since I am posting things about books for anyone to see, it's better that I be transparent about this.
However, finishing a book or consuming it entirely doesn't matter, what matters is what you get out of it. Depth comes from variety and consistency, and how you connect it to what else you've read, how you engage with it through talking about it, writing on it, or living it.
That's the best response I can summon. It's your own journey. Read to enhance, understand and bring joy to all else you do in life. Thanks again and best to you.
