I think your reaction about 2 minutes in to what your wife was saying speaks volumes to how much you realise and appreciate the hardship alcohol has caused to your wifes worry for you over the years. Keep strong Gaz. You're doing well mate!

Fully respect and understand your wife's decision. It was brave of her to appear in the background discussing this. She sounds a lovely person and you're a lucky man. Keep it going.
What an insightful and intelligent lady. She really cares about you, it’s so obvious. So many women would be moaning and railing against you, but not she. All her comments were well thought out and fair but compassionate. After 25 years you must be proud of her common sense. She is definitely “a keeper!” We are all proud of you too, and the not always easy path you have chosen. My daughter watches your channel too, and calls you, “the handsome Prince”.
"Mrs Foodie Guy" sounds absolutely lovely! You're a very lucky man to have such strong, compassionate support. I also think you're incredibly brave to do this so publically. Not thinking negatively, but if you do happen to lapse along the way, PLEASE don't consider it a "failure". I think you've said you've tried before. Everyone who gives up drinking will have been there. I worry you'll feel public pressure to be super human and you know what us blokes can be like. Always "Ego Lifting" in the gym, etc. THANK YOU both for your honesty and inspiration. 🤝💕
Well done Gaz...you are a lucky man...not only to have given up and realised what you were doing to yourself and your family, but to have had a wife who stuck with you despite your drinking habits...well done Gaz's wife!!
“Alcohol greedy”, I love that. I’m exactly the same mate. Not dependent, but don’t have an off-switch. Going to meet mates in the pub and having 1 or 2 is and always will be impossible for me. It’s either all or nothing with me. The hangovers were hell for me. I would sit and fester, and get depressed and just feel so low and sad. Best thing for me was to stop. Now I don’t even think about it really.
My younger brother is an Alcoholic, drugs too, he has been clean for 5 years, I'm so proud of him, he was given divorce papers from his wife which woke him up, he wet to AA meetings and is now a sponsor for other Alcoholics, i don't drink Infront of him out of respect, my older bother who was a banquet manager on the QE2 died from Alcohol. He even travelled to the Falklands on the QE2 to make sure the brave British Army got their food. I drink in moderation. Me and my Brothers are all chefs,,, this is why I love your UA-cam videos, take care ❤❤
I think both you and your wife are doing so much to help others by producing these videos. So many people want to quit but will never seek help in their local town. They dont want to bump into someone they know from the past, old schoolfriend or workmate, someone that might look down on them when they are feeling vulnerable. What your doing is giving people a lifeline. They can watch in private or at home with loved ones. They can relate to your experiences because you were brave enough to stick your head above the parapet. Good luck to you both👍
Hi Gaz well done mate great to see you have a supportive wife behind you I've mentioned before my wife passed away 6yrs ago I packed in the day of her funeral .watching this I wished I had done it a lot earlier . Keep up the good work
When I was in hospital for a month and ill for a month I saw what beer did to me I have never drank since my family are so proud of me I am more happy now
This was so touching🥺 … my dear ol grandad was in the Royal Navy, and this is where he learned the love of drink. I think it happens to a lot of men but well done you for being stronger than the drink🤗Your wife is brilliant and I am so proud you have someone so lovely there to hold you close and remind you that you’ve got this~ thank you for opening up and sharing such a personal part of your life. Sending you all the best Gaz ~Ali xx
Hats off to you and your wife for talking so candidly about what affects so many couples...the way we used to drink is old fashioned and very ANDY CAPP AND FLO !! that lifestyle doesn't exist .....Bravo to you both ❤
You are lucky that you have an intelligent caring wife who understands you and excepts you for what you are, I hope you realise this in the fact that giving up the booze not only for yourself but also for your wife and children, well done Gaz keep it up and realise how good you have it.
Absolute Respect Buddy, I’m 2 weeks away from completing my first year clean. My wife is overwhelmed with my progress and how much I have changed (for the good), she has no worries about Alcohol now. My reasoning for never ever going back on the booze is that my life would turn to crap again and I couldn’t do this to my amazing wife again. One of my other reasons is and it sounds stupid, is that if I have one drink I have to restart at day 1 again and I ain’t doing that. Your a Good Strong man with an amazing wife, you keep doing what your doing.
You’re wife is amazing You have a true and strong relationship and you deal with life’s challenges together I see a positive future for you quitting the drink 🙏
Gareth, I’m from a family of boozers.. my grandad lived to drink although he did hold down a job, my brother died 5 years ago of alcohol related illness he got the stage where whenever we went out with his kids it was pre planned to be near a pub… he drank from age 13 until he died at 72… my half brother still alive but again his whole existence revolves around opening time then nipping into Aldi for cans to take home, he’s also now on strong painkillers which he says help him sleep. I stopped going to pubs over 20 years ago after seeing what it was doing to my brother, I can take it or leave it, I’ll never be a drunk because I get too sick… It isn’t easy mate and drinking is a lifestyle choice which can be a hard habit to break. I’m on my own so nobody to look out for me but “you have” and your wife sounds sensible and dedicated so my advice would be treat it as a new phase in your life’s journey and embrace it, use that energy to help your kids progress, spend time with them doing silly stuff as believe me you’ll turn around one day and they’ll be gone, adults with dreams of their own so make every moment count while you have them!👍🏻🏴
So good that you have such a lovely, understanding wife Gaz. I'm really glad that Mrs BFG no longer has the stress of living with a binge drinker. Also good to hear your children have not seen you drunk. My father was a violent, bullying, drunk and I was terrified of him. Even now at the age of 60 seeing drunk people really scares me. You are doing a great job Gaz and I am proud of you. x
Hello there , first of all let me say WELL DONE! On giving up alcohol …. I have been an alcoholic for over 25 years. I wish that I could do what you have accomplished…..MASSIVE RESPECT
Hiya Mr&Mrs Morgan, nice to put a voice to the mystic hands. Gareth, it takes strength to put yourself under the microscope, and listen to someone else's opinions of your addiction to booze. Especially when that person is the wife who has been there for years. Watching and worrying. My feelings, she also should be proud of herself as well as proud of you and your efforts to change Many couples have split up, and went their separate ways. You have stood together. Brilliant. Remember Ready Steady Go🤔? The weekend starts here 😊and it did. Friday night kick off. Then 48hrs of beer, mates, silly behaviour, greasy food hangovers. Back to work Mondays, saying " great weekend lads 😂😂 but you couldn't remember most of it. However, now look backwards and see the old days, then forward to a much better future. Gareth you're doing so well, and with the sound, caring, sensitive strong wife with you. Your gonna be fine. Keep the faith in yourself. My very best wishes Allan&Family
Well done Aaron it gets easier if I can stop anyone can I'm coming up to 8 years now Tek one day at a time and don't look for excuses to start if you re start you ain't ready and try later it took me a few times good luck Tek care 👍🏴🦊
I was married to a drinker, not an alcoholic but a heavy drinker. It killed my marriage and my Daughters upbringing How I didn't end up in a mental hospital is beyond me. I admire your Wife so much and I'm so relieved you've stopped. Very proud of you Gaz.
In some ways you are already at AA. You face your situation and admit to it. You share your story. The others (us subscribers) support you on your journey. We also learn from it and some share back in comments how it’s helping us. Some just sit at the back and say nothing, but thats ok too. This is your AA meeting. All you are missing is the coffee and tokens to mark the years sober. I think your vlog channel is great. Thanks keep it up.
Great stuff Thanks for being there, im sure you will help someone. The thing is with King alcohol your never sure if you have a serious problem, until you have. blessings from Norway 30years dry
I can see how lucky you are Gaz, having such a wonderful Wife , you know you're a lucky Man having her and your Girls. Top marks to you for stopping the booze and realising the most important thing to you is your family wealth. We all love your videos and want you to carry on this way. Keep up the great work - very entertaining, thanks too to your Wife for letting us hear her and understand the strength she is behind - Gaz the bald foodie guy! 😂
Hi. Your video cut deep and I'm very grateful you did this video. I have had issues with alcohol for a long while and seeing that you are putting yourself out there especially with a lot of followers you won't realise how much help you are giving people. You spoke about AA. I would recommend you to go to a meeting because you will meet the most amazing kindest people in the world. It's really not what you think. You don't need to be dependent but if you acknowledge you have issues with alcohol past or present that's alls you need to be. You will talk to fantastic people and hear the most amazing shares of people's lives. You are in a position where you could help and also share your story with everyone and if it helps only one person in that room then trust me that's a incredible achievement. Wishing you all the very best and much love to you and your family, Linz xx
Nice to hear from Mrs Gareth, good support from the missus is a must when facing a personal challenge. Plus I think you've got guts to air your problems publicly Gareth. Good luck in the future mate all the very best. 👍
Lots of respect to you both - certainly living up to your vows ("through sickness and in health..."). Very glad that you have each other. Both of you are such warm, intelligent and humane people. Looking forward to your next video. God bless you both.
As a person who's just gone through a week long alcohol withdrawal. I can definitely say to you Gareth you're doing the right thing. Going into withdrawal is no fun, the sweating, the insomnia, the tactile, visual and auditory hallucinations interspersed with short lucid hellscape dreams are no fun. Every withdrawal gets worse and you're basically causing brain damage. I wish I'd never started drinking. You've got a lovely wife and kids that absolutely love you. You're absolutely doing the right thing to give up the drink. All the best.
its not easy , it has been 11 months for me now , I quit after my heart attack last october. lost my lovely mam in january this year and really wanted a drink, but thought no in case I had another. keep going , you can do it ,. good wishes to you x
@@rosiew1952 Thanks for the kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your heart attack and your mum. 11 months is a great milestone in your sober journey especially after what you've been through. I just hope I have the will and determination you've shown in your sobriety. You're definitely an inspiration for me to keep up my sobriety long term. Good luck in your journey.
Bless you both . As an ex Royal Navy i know how a drink comes into your way of life . I never used to over indulge but did get pie eyed a few times . Since my surgeries i am now off it altogether . Stay strong . An amazing couple .
Lovely to see / hear you both being open about your situation. Your wife sounds like a lovely person and very supportive. Keep doing what you are doing.
You're doing great Gaz. I lived with a drinker and before my lad came along, it was the norm for us to be out most nights socially, pool matches, over the dogs, darts...you get the picture. I was the "designated driver" and he was the "designated drunk". It wasn't so easy once there was a baby in the picture and I shouldered a lot more responsibility as i didn't feel he could. He never had any money and would "borrow" off me all the time as I would do extra work if I could pick it up. He went off with someone else before the lad was 6 years old and eventually left that person with a young one. I ended up with someone else who liked the sauce but it got too much for me and I was able to send him on his way. On my own now and much happier. Drink ruins more than just the drinker's life. Look after yourself and Mrs Gaz too ❤❤
I was exactly the same, took me till I was 60yrs of age, to see the light. As ex forces, it's what we do, nearly 5yrs sober, and ciggy free. Well done for this video mate, all the best THAILAND 🇹🇭
God bless your lovely lady wife, she’s been very understanding Hope you keeping it up for your self and your lovely family. It is a good thing you feel you were able to talk it out with her and most of all with us as well. I’m sure you have help and shown others.
Morning Gareth thank you and your wife for the positive chat about your drinking. It takes a lot to give up the booze so well done, keep strong. When I was working we drank a lot but since I got older I can't seem to drink so much. I do enjoy a drink but not in excess.
What a brilliant video! Kudos to you and your better half for handling this. I could tell from your facial expressions that it was challenging at times, but you powered through! Excellent work. It’s also great to hear that your wife is less stressed about you now-she mentioned her anxiety has eased, which is wonderful. It's fantastic to know you're discovering the many benefits of sobriety, like enjoying more of the day and having clearer memories. Everything seems to be heading in a positive direction. Thanks for sharing this one-on-one chat with your wife-it’s been brilliant. All the best, Gareth. You're a top man!
Great video Gaz your wife’s lovely 😍 my kids dad died of alcohol 2 years ago my one son is alcoholic my daughter has been sober nearly 4 years I think seeing your parent drinking just makes it ok for the kids 🥵😍but AA saved my daughter I will always be thankful to them so well done Gaz I’m proud of you ❤❤❤❤
It’s amazing how much you have achieved Gareth well done I’m almost two years since having to give up for health reasons don’t miss it at all I do hate the smell on someone’s breath after having alcohol my husband like your wife has been so supportive all the best to you both 😊
Your wife sounds lovely, and so amazingly supportive to you. I thought that was a really positive video, and great to hear from your wife's perspective about your relationship with alcohol over the years. I'm so glad for both of you that you have made the decision to stop drinking, it can only mean bigger and better things for you all as a family xx
What an amazingly brave video this was for you to do and your wife sounds like a lovely woman, so supportive and must have been such a rock for you. I am in the exact same position and plan to show this video to my wife today. Thank you ❤
Gareth I think you were both brave and amazing to come on here and talk about your life. I’m sure you have both inspired a lot of people struggling with alcohol. Keep it up Gareth. Janice
You're doing amazing and I think it's admirable the way you're documenting it and inspiring others. I'm now 80 days AF and it feels amazing. I've had one or 2 occasions where I've sort of thought 'is that it now, is this life?'. But it's like you say, it's accepting it's a lifestyle and a mentality. No way can I go back to old ways. Sooo self destructive, why on earth would I want that for myself again when I'm genuinely starting to feel happier. The amount of money I'm saving too is just 🙌 But yeah well done and your wife sounds lovely and supportive which is what you need on this journey 😊
Gaz, It was the day after your accident video when I first came across you. No idea why your video was on my suggested videos but I've been following you ever since. I'm not a drinker myself but my Mum was an alcoholic. She would drink anything from 8am till last thing at night. I saw the devastating effect growing up. Of course there was times she was better than others but the bad times stay with you. The falls she had, the stitches, the broken bones, the trips to the hospital not to mention the confidence and life purpose it takes from you. I know you have suffered but your wife and kids have probably suffered more. I could be here all night telling you what it's like from the other side of it. The side of what it was like to deal with an alcoholic first hand for 20 plus years. Your wife is obviously a credit to your family. I wish you all the best, you are smashing it and I'm really proud of you. You are facing your problem and showing real character. Keep going.
Hiya Gareth and Mrs Gareth this is probably the best conversation ive heard for a very long time especially having your good lady interact and im sure gave you positive vibes to stay off the beer etc. I dont think your an alcoholic as you dont wake up and have a few glasses of what ever but being a heavy social drinker at weekend like i was once many years ago. Those Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings were the worse times for me gallons of lager followed by riding my motorcycle half pissed to the Chinese takeaway in Stony Stratford then riding back to me village hoping the Cops would not stop me as i was some nights well over the limit almost falling over and riding a bike was not the best thing to do. My wake up call was was back in 1980 aged 22 riding back home to Yardley Gobion Northants one night about midnight not quite as pissed as i usually was and as i came down the A508 i came across police blue lights and road closure about four hundred yards from my house it was the scene of a fatal collision where a lad that i knew from the village a few miles away at the time rolled his car on the bend and ended up on its roof. The police said i could not ride past and had to ride an extra 6 or 7 miles to come round the other way. I was sweating when the officer approached me to turn me round i had to keep calm and said i was on my way back from work. That Saturday/Sunday day aged 22 i gave up binge drinking and riding while under the influence. And 44 years later im still well behaved but with the odd half a Guinness now and again. I learnt more when i joined the Fire Brigade years later and attended RTC's which involved excess alcohol so that also bought back memories of that fateful night. Marc in Bletchley
Such a great video......from seeing your poor battered face, to you showing the world you're now a united front with your lovely wife.....so well done ❤
I’m very touched by both of you. You Gareth, for your openness and honesty, the fact that you have shared this deeply personal journey ( which I’m sure is helping many) and the love of your super wife and family. Your wife for her understanding, patience, caring and being part of this with you. Hold you head up high Gareth and enjoy the renewed you. We are all rooting for you.😊
Thank you for the vlog. I especially appreciate your wife’s input. They take a lot emotionally. I lost 2 good marriages through my alcoholism/ addictions. Ironically for 20 years I worked in mental health. The last 3 years though cost me my job as the problem escalated too much. I’ve been sober a while now. Keep going Gav and my best wishes to your wife and family.🤗🙏
Hi Gareth, and thank you for making this channel. I am just over 18 months sober, so I know what you are going through. To do this on Social Media with your wife is very brave and I doff my hat to you! I just wanted to address the AA question as it relates to me: I know that many have sworn by AA and credit them with their success in quitting, the organisation wouldn't have survived and thrived over the years if not, and I am not demeaning anyone who finds them a useful lifeline in their journey, indeed anything that helps people give up alcohol is to be applauded. The problem for me is the apportioning of blame. For me, the mere act of saying "I am Steven and I am an alcoholic" shifts the blame from the drug, the alcohol, onto the person. It becomes you that is at fault. You are the problem, you are sick, ill and weak, and you have succumbed to the demon drink. You need to be cleansed, fixed, repaired. Whereas I see the drug as the problem. This stupid little substance that is no use to anyone other than an industrial cleaner or a second grade fuel to petrol is the problem, not you or me. No, it is the alcohol that is to blame. The drug makes you depressed and makes you crave the next fix, that is why you get the blues and long for the next boozy session. The way I see it, the most important thing to learn are the reasons we get addicted to the drug, how it effects aspects of our life, our psychology and our physiology and how it turns normal, reasonable, rational people literally into idiots. That is done by education, so for me it is books, so called 'quit-lit' that are the answer. Read, read and read again, as much as possible and over and over again if necessary. And if you're not a reader, get them as audio books and listen to them. I am not a bad person or a sick person that needs curing, and neither are you or anyone else, we just need to understand in detail what the drug does and why, understand it, and stop putting it into our bodies.
Massive Respect and thanks Gareth to you and your awesome wife . Baring all in front of thousands takes huge courage and honesty. Many people who have alcohol problems, even if only occasionally will benefit hugely from you're experiences . Long may your sobriety and videos continue. Thanks and best wishes from a fellow Cumbrian.
Nice one mate 👍👍 You chose to tell the world your issues, just like signing up with the army, your being Watched! Don't let UA-cam or your family be the reason for not drinking. Do it for yourself, that way you have the power and drinking won't seem like such a big thing. Look after you and then boom, wife and kids and yt will grow happily bro 👍
You are so lucky having such a supportive and understanding wife to help you through quitting alcohol Gareth. Well done to you for quitting and being a better man for her and your girls xx
Well done, fellah..... I'm currently going through stopping drinking. 3 weeks now. Had a 'one-to-one' with a Social care nurse today and it was very helpful. Think my background was similar to yours. 25 years military service and drinking was part of the lifestyle. Witnessed some terrible things and think I have PTSD although never been diagnosed. I have stopped before for 8 months during cancer treatment but started again after being given the all-clear. My concern is certain trigger points that come along in everyday life but I'm determined to stop for good now. Good luck mate.
A wonderful video and you've a very eloquent wife explaining the journey. You keep going and I'm sure with her support you'll continue to live a long and happy life.
Great video, thanks so much for sharing. This will help others to quit too! I'm a recovering alcoholic. Had a nasty accident in May, that was the catalyst to stop. I've relapsed a few times, but on the right path. Looking forward to the next video.
She sounds like a very empathetic woman and she wouldn't still be there if she didn't love and cherish not only you but the whole family! You are a very lucky man to have this support system behind you... and to be able to talk openly and honestly with her. It's true what they say... 'behind every great man there is a great woman' and you certainly have! I have no doubt in my mind that you will succeed! 🤩
Hi Gareth, Good open and honest chat with your wife and your self. Its a big turn around in your lives, keep it up your doing well, catch you soon take care
Keep at it mate. I don't think you need AA either, at least not at the moment. The way you drew a line under it and have not waivered in over 100 days tells me you are determined to live without alcohol. Well done lad, well done. 😊
Brilliant! Thankyou to both of you for sharing your experiences and thankyou to your wonderful wife for her very honest and articulate feedback. Sharing your experiences helps you both and may even save someone else out there too. Keep up the great work!
I really enjoyed your relaxed conversation with your wife Gareth. She comes across as being very supportive of you and understanding. Keep on keeping on. X
Well done to you too Mrs Gareth. I grew up in a family that were too drink oriented and know the anxiety and fear my mother went through, so I know how you feel. I'm one of the many that is proud of your husband. Love from Scotland.
Much respect to you and your wife. This journey will get even easier with each passing day, because you have her beside you, supporting but not nagging! You have a true life partner there, so here's to the next 25 years! (raising a mug of coffee! hahaha! xx)
@@paulthomas3889 Fantastic stuff! Keep up the good work, Paul. Addictions are hard to beat, until you beat them fully. The emotional and mental ties are just as hard as the physical.
Fair play Gaz. We've had similar pasts with the forces etc. It's a culture that you can't see at times. I'm really proud of you. Straight talk is what everyone needs mate x
Well balanced video chaps, good insight on what happens behind the scenes. Remember the little steps & it seems you've got the love ❤️ + support you've got. Don't beat yourself up ✌️
December 13th will be my 5 year anniversary. I’m so pleased you are progressing well and I can sense a grateful , happy family unit for making this big leap. I never thought I needed to join an AA meeting during my journey as I knew what was my relationship alcohol was. Functioning on 150 units a week wasn’t so much a relationship, but a need to drink when I wasn’t working. I think in giving up, I didn’t need a meeting to tell me, what I knew was wrong all along. I’m pleased you’re still going in the right direction. More power to ya! Dave
Everything happens for a reason, and you have turned a negative into a positive. It’s great your lovely wife came on to chat and she is so supportive and I’m sure it’s been tough for her. I’m sure there will be tests along the way so make sure you have a plan in action.Thank you both for coming on and sharing❤❤
Hi Gareth, I’ve not been on a few weeks. After 4 months sober I slipped and had some beers. 😢Thankfully it only lasted a few days and I never got the Vodka or I’d be dead with the amount of times I’ve withdrawn medically and cold turkey in the past. I’ve got back up and been straight again going on a few weeks - back walking 5-9 miles a day . I just wanted to share it as we all are fighting for each other in support. Where the urge came from.. it was so swift and sudden and I’d been so strong .. but I got complacent .. and out of the blue like a Tyson punch it hit me. I’d been not dealing with some stress issues as well being on my own. Anyway - you take care. Stay strong my friend and best to all in recovery. 🤗🙏 “ Silvo”

Thank you the pair of you, you have helped me today. Well done Gareth keep going. You have got a great wife. God bless you all. Steve
Glad to help
Absolute Respect Buddy, I’m 2 weeks away from completing my first year clean. My wife is overwhelmed with my progress and how much I have changed (for the good), she has no worries about Alcohol now. My reasoning for never ever going back on the booze is that my life would turn to crap again and I couldn’t do this to my amazing wife again. One of my other reasons is and it sounds stupid, is that if I have one drink I have to restart at day 1 again and I ain’t doing that. Your a Good Strong man with an amazing wife, you keep doing what your doing.
Well done mate, great achievement 👏 👍 👌
You’re wife is amazing You have a true and strong relationship and you deal with life’s challenges together I see a positive future for you quitting the drink 🙏
Smashing it Gaz! Proud of you mate!
I’m 67 days sober today after being 3 years sober previously!
I’m on my own so nobody to look out for me but “you have” and your wife sounds sensible and dedicated so my advice would be treat it as a new phase in your life’s journey and embrace it, use that energy to help your kids progress, spend time with them doing silly stuff as believe me you’ll turn around one day and they’ll be gone, adults with dreams of their own so make every moment count while you have them!👍🏻🏴
Your wife sounds absolutely brill. ❤ Family is precious. You've realised that and shown responsibility. Good on you mate.
Thanks 👍
14 days sober today. 108 days sober is amazing well done I dream of having that amount of time under my belt

Had my last drink in 2013......I was saying I wanted sobriety under my belt and here I am nearly 12 years later😂
Well done on your sobriety. Stay strong.👍 “ Silvo”
@@royalrecordings4307well done mate.👍
Thank-you for your kind comments
I was married to a drinker, not an alcoholic but a heavy drinker. It killed my marriage and my Daughters upbringing
How I didn't end up in a mental hospital is beyond me.
Exactly
Hahaha bolloz
oh and not to forget to mention what's the most important think. THE 12 steps.
You are doing amazing Gareth. All your followers are proud of how far you have come . Well done pal👍👍👍
Great stuff Thanks for being there, im sure you will help someone. The thing is with King alcohol your never sure if you have a serious problem, until you have. blessings from Norway 30years dry
Well done 👏 30 years great achievement
I can see how lucky you are Gaz, having such a wonderful Wife , you know you're a lucky Man having her and your Girls. Top marks to you for stopping the booze and realising the most important thing to you is your family wealth. We all love your videos and want you to carry on this way. Keep up the great work - very entertaining, thanks too to your Wife for letting us hear her and understand the strength she is behind - Gaz the bald foodie guy! 😂
Your wife is a very clever and wonderful woman.
Fantastic video Mr & Mrs M! So glad that Mrs M isn't as stressed and worried about the what ifs. Your doing brilliant Gareth 🎉
All the best Linz x
@Baldfoodieguylifestyle thank you and likewise x
What great warmth and support from Mrs Gaz. You deserve her and she deserves to have a good bloke like you. All the best Gaz, well done
Very honest and open chat. Good to hear your wife's opinion. Well done, sure this wasn't easy for either of you. Keep up the great work.
Good on you both. A lot of people will benefit from your honesty and openness. Take care of yourselves and I look forward to your next video
Great video Gaz your wife’s lovely 😍 my kids dad died of alcohol 2 years ago my one son is alcoholic my daughter has been sober nearly 4 years I think seeing your parent drinking just makes it ok for the kids 🥵😍but AA saved my daughter I will always be thankful to them so well done Gaz I’m proud of you ❤❤❤❤
Oh I'm so sorry 😞
It’s amazing how much you have achieved Gareth well done I’m almost two years since having to give up for health reasons don’t miss it at all I do hate the smell on someone’s breath after having alcohol my husband like your wife has been so supportive all the best to you both 😊
You are a very lucky man to have an understanding wife who has stayed with you , And of course well done Gareth you are looking good.
You are doing really well, keep up the hard work, every day is a bonus👍👏👏
Thank you 😊
Brave lad. I can see opening up isn’t easy for you. I wouldn’t like to do that. Very well done, mate.
Thank you for your service 🫡
Much appreciated
What an amazingly brave video this was for you to do and your wife sounds like a lovely woman, so supportive and must have been such a rock for you. I am in the exact same position and plan to show this video to my wife today. Thank you ❤
Gareth I think you were both brave and amazing to come on here and talk about your life. I’m sure you have both inspired a lot of people struggling with alcohol. Keep it up Gareth. Janice
This is such an intelligent and deeply moving piece.
The honesty from both of you is so raw, and palpable.
Keep going sir.
You're welcome 😊
Keep going.
Thanks mate I appreciate it 👍
Hiya Gareth and Mrs Gareth this is probably the best conversation ive heard for a very long time especially having your good lady interact and im sure gave you positive vibes to stay off the beer etc.
Well done. I have been sober for the past 4 years. Sept 1st 2020. Keep up the great work
Your wife is a keeper for sure, what a rock!
I enjoyed this chat Gareth & hearing your wife explain things too.
Nice one mate 👍👍
You chose to tell the world your issues, just like signing up with the army, your being Watched!
Don't let UA-cam or your family be the reason for not drinking.
Do it for yourself, that way you have the power and drinking won't seem like such a big thing.
Look after you and then boom, wife and kids and yt will grow happily bro 👍
Great comment 👍
Thanks Chas
Well done Gaz, I can tell the love and support from your wife has helped you on your journey. You have something very pressures.
What a lovely supportive wife you have! You make a great team! Well done Gary for sticking with it and for being so brave and honest ❤
A wonderful video and you've a very eloquent wife explaining the journey. You keep going and I'm sure with her support you'll continue to live a long and happy life.
Thank you! Will do!
Your doing great Gareth , the whole family will benefit from you quitting drinking . Keep going your doing well .
The good lady is a good woman. Wonderful video many thanks
Excellent video , huge thanks to your wife for her input . Wishing you and your family all the very best from 🏴❤❤
Great video, thanks so much for sharing.
Nice to hear your voice, Missus.
I really enjoyed your relaxed conversation with your wife Gareth. She comes across as being very supportive of you and understanding. Keep on keeping on. X

You are both spot on, gaz you are doing brilliant and having the support of a lovely wife you have It made mate.
Well done to you too Mrs Gareth. I grew up in a family that were too drink oriented and know the anxiety and fear my mother went through, so I know how you feel. I'm one of the many that is proud of your husband. Love from Scotland.
Your wife is amazing, and so are you
Enjoyed watching a very interesting discussion
Best wishes, gareth and family
Much respect to you and your wife. This journey will get even easier with each passing day, because you have her beside you, supporting but not nagging! You have a true life partner there, so here's to the next 25 years! (raising a mug of coffee! hahaha! xx)
I craved Alcohol every day for 7 years, when I stopped Oct 98, until One day I didn't. 26 years next month.
Cheers Hoppers, yes all we did was drink
Well balanced video chaps, good insight on what happens behind the scenes. Remember the little steps & it seems you've got the love ❤️ + support you've got. Don't beat yourself up ✌️
Very brave and honest video thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching!
Dave
Lovely listening to your wife you are very respectful of each other and come across as very honest look forward to hearing more from you both 😊😊😊😊😊
Very candid and brave to be so open about drinking. Glad it is still working for you.
🤗🙏 “ Silvo”
Cheers Silvo yes just get back on the wagon again pal 👍
super, honest video Gareth. Alcohol can be a struggle for many, well done mate.
