Adding that ending happy birthday phrase/coda after what Vierne called "my Marseillaise" (the Finale of Symphony No. 1) is what I suspect the joy of being an organist is all about. That was great and the majesty of a gorgeous, full voiced organ, spectacular fun! Thank you Wayne. (I've been wondering what you'd do with the Finale as it is def a favorite of mine and most organ lovers out there.)
Brilliant. Immediately picked Vierne! Happy memories of visiting the Augustiner Kirche in Vienna when doing recitals in Vienna at St Peterskrche. Hope you visit Australia sometime soon.
It was Olivier Latry who said Louis Vierne had a sense of humour - well Happy Birthday in the mode of Carrillon de Westminster - quite wonderful and thanks for that touch of homour a-la-Vierne
Holy cow, what a musician! Thanks so much for sharing this treasure with us. I'm going to need to listen to much more on your channel and look into your discography.
Dunno if anyone gives a damn but if you're bored like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the new series on instaflixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend recently =)
Absolutely stunning Wayne, love the happy birthday coda after the toccata, simply brilliant. Your harmonic development of the tune utterly defines that of Vierne’s, your enormous talent simply gets better and better. You made my dinner this evening, listening to all of this whilst munching on jerk salmon!!! BRAVO and hope all else is good with you. I wish we could bring you back, but fear no organ here could do you justice anymore!!! Miss you brother……..Adrian in Bermuda 😀😀😀😀
Incredible, and if I heared ever a really good honour for anybody - this is really one of the BEST! .-) . The Happy Birthday Carillon simply fantastic, i loughed a lot, was simply pleasureful, the Final+the finish UNBELIEWABLE...but also the prewiew improvisation in the style of Vierne.... what a super birthday gift by Wayne for our beloved composer. Thank You very-very much, this is simply: GOOD!
Well-played, Sir! As an unstudied amateur organist, I am pretty stunned by your Improvisation! Could you perhaps do an explanation video or two about how you composed this? Maybe at least some 'shorts'about single elements which you built your improvisation on..? Thank you so much and best wishes for your Vienna concert!
Hey - Wayne - good to see and hear you again after all these years (Jasbo Browns on Stage honky-tonk - took two of us to tune it - Ha - ha!) need I say more?
I'm reminded of Jehan Alain's Petite piece during the first few minutes of the improvisation, which is superb of course! Genius use of Carillon de Wesminster too! :D
There is ''haunting happy birthday'' looming ....;)))

Wayne,, you truly know how to make a pipe organ sing !
Maestro, you are in a word splendid. Many thanks.
Great use of "Carillon De Westminster" too :)))
Wow!! That just may be the fastest tempo I've ever heard on the Sym.1 Finale. It certainly adds another dimension.
Wonderful impro!!! My favourite composer since I first heard him :) Thank you!!!

Absolutely amazing Mr Marshall, a fitting tribute to a great composer

Wow! That was great and funny too!
Thanks Wayne.
Greetings from Rotterdam
never heard of this organ before. it sounds great
the improvisation is also in the style i would do it which is really nice :)
Loved the Happy Birthday tribute! BRAVO!!
The Final from Vierne is played a bit too fast, but thanks for this homage !
Nette Idee diese Improvisation :-))
Raketentempo und die überspitzte Artikulation vom 1/Final sind nicht meins... fast wie eine Parodie...
John Birch would have played it like this (the Finale) but Thalben-Ball played it slightly slower and less staccato.
