The Kevuliya lighthouse is an important navigational aid for ships entering Trincomalee Harbor. It is also a popular tourist destination, as the island is home to a variety of wildlife, including seabirds, monkeys, and lizards. It was built in 1863 by the British and is operated and maintained by the Sri Lanka Ports Authority. The lighthouse is 21 meters (69 feet) tall and has a focal plane of 103 meters (338 feet). It is also known as the Round Island Lighthouse.
