There is no risk. Personalities who don't stand their ground will get run over every time by the mob. Every time someone doesn't, the actual risks just inflate their influence and before you know it we'll be cancelling middle-schoolers for saying poop-head on the internet.
Do people forget that toast is super loyal and kind to his friends and when something problematic happens? like when fed was being creepy to the girls, toast called him out even before all the drama came to a head.
it's just kids guys. DOn't take it personally on behalf of toast. Kids feel like they are unable to challenge the shitty behavior of people in their offline life so they project it on to online people and try to take it out on them.
Sad thing is behind the scenes toast is a good guy he supported lily poki and yvonne during the fed drama and then as aria said on twitter basically toast talked her out of whatever dark moment she was going through last year he puts on an act for his viewers but behind all that he is a very shy guy
Shy? I don’t think so. Private and maybe a little insecure is what I believe, but Toast seems way too outspoken to be considered shy. I could be wrong though.
If I'm not mistaken during the fed situation, yvonne didn't really tell anyone what happened, toast figured something was up and asked yvonne if fed did something to her. I'm pretty sure that when yvonne told someone what happened
People who haven't known toast for a year or someone who literally does not watch and just judge him base on a clip are soo stupid for canceling him LOL
DK said out loud to a podcast full of people that Steve stormed the capital and that didn't get picked up at all so all I'm waiting for is somebody to actually try and cancel Steve and use that video as evidence because it'd be fucking hilarious.
Bro I can't believe Toast had to address this issue, he didn't have to tell them shit, they tried to come after him for sooo many dumb reasons that it was annoying to read, especially people with sykkuno Stan accounts trying their best to cancel him and stopping his friends to playing with him!
I know! Can't believe the amount of sykkuno stand hating on toast. I thought they had this amigops friendship fans or something like that. sykkuno fans are really scary.
@@stfu4428 you know how some sykkuno stans literally treat him like a baby, they think sykkuno playing with Toast or with any of sykkuno's friends will affect sykkuno
If toast gets cancelled OTV gets cancelled to be fair. Micheal Reeves has even darker sense of humour and no one goes after him because he just does not give a shit. Pokimane has been through the worst but survived because she has a strong mental. It is just all bullshit and they will not get anything out of it, just ruining the enjoyment and entertainment of other people. I really want to punch them all in the face and wake them up how fucking stupid they are.
@@kasper7250 I agree, hate me if you want but cancel cultures Stan culture and literally all those types of “cultures” that are like them that are really toxic need their brain fixed or something
Dude there are some youtubers who make soooo many out of the line jokes that I wonder why haven’t cancel culture doing them yet !! And then there’s toast :/
Each streamer has its own “ecosystem” it’s like Steve, his audience completely get his humor (sarcastic, ‘edgy’) and play along with him but if you’re not a part of that ecosystem and don’t take the time to understand it, then you’ll feel a certain way. I think people don’t take the time to see the entire context of things.
I’m so angry that Toast had to take time out of his schedule to justify his character when it shouldn’t have been judged or condemned in the first place. Toast’s reply makes it clear to me that people were nitpicking at jokes he’s told to put him in a bad light and attack his friends, and the cesspool of negativity that caused all this makes my blood boil. There’s no reason for it! Why can’t we just uplift other people and spread positivity? Toast- especially such a friendly and intelligent person like Toast- deserves much better.
I generally like to stay away from all this stan or cancel or hate BS going around. I agree people should remember to be sensitive on certain topics but in my opinion some people like to act stupidly dramatic because there behind a screen and can blend in from billions of people around the globe.
People tend to do anything that they wouldn't normally do if no one knows that it was them that's why people tend to do stupid things while being anonymous in the internet I also agree with you
True, many youtubers and streamers have been through this. Pokimane, Ryan Higa, PewdiePie, KSI. Every big UA-camr and streamer is targeted because too many people like them and these retarded stans and people only want to take away all the enjoyment and entertainment. It is really dumb and i absolutely agree with you.
@@sagecrops7368 i think a lot stan accounts tend to have multiple accounts for multiple people/fan bases. i used to have one for a band that i liked and then tbh got tired of celebrities (people put on them on such a pedestal and then act disappointed when they make a mistake, it was tiring) now i just have an account for films/shows/books (still filled with drama but a lot less obsession over a single person)
Thank goodness for Hafu. I wish people understood that if they actually cared about the streamer and wanted to make their community better then they would get involved with having all these people send messages not publicly cancel. @@Astonthepunk: Thank god for that. Only grade-A idiot does not research what is going on probably and simply jumps on a bandwagon without knowing anything. More people need to push back against Twitter cancel culture. Especially when you see what they want Karl and Toast to apologize for. It's beyond ridiculous at this point.
toast literally cried on stream saying he could take a lot, but when his friends are getting hate because of him being cancelled because some people can’t take a simple joke is too far. toast is such a good, respectful person, who is there for all of his friends. he deserves so much more.
What ever the Cancel culture does, this really changes the original personality of the individual Mann, Like they restrict themselves from being THEM and the person they are and thats the main thing which is really sad....
Tbh idk lol they was doing good job in 2020 but they starting to become soft asfff. Like the canceled sooooo many people u say nigga or something very very bad but that like 10 or 4 years ago. By that time they changed or they talked about it a long time or they left it alone Bc it was the past Nd they looking at their future.
This is actually happening now. I feel some streamers restrict themselves from their true selfs. They can't give opinion because of some twist the streamer words.
That's not a problem as every personalities already restrain themselves to behave publicly in front of an audience. Nobody talks to an audience as freely as talking to friends and relatives. No, the problem is how far the political correctness went during this last years because of this cancel culture.
also, the person who wrote toast's thread said "guys i'm not cancelling anyone, i'm just pointing out facts" or something along the line like yeah sure you just happened to be making a damn long essay to degrade someone's reputation
Saddest thing was the original person trying to cancel them is 23, like damn that's really all you got going in your life. That's roughly the same age as Michael Reeves, QuarterJade, Masayoshi and probably some others in that circle group to put it into perspective.
Are you serious? Maaan, that person probably has a lot of issues they have to work through. Imagine being so sad in life that you gotta try to cancel someone. 🥴
@@shannonwijnands7797 He gets a kick out of ruining something for everybody else and its a fucking troll. They just need to moderate these people who bring up tweets from 2 years ago and try ruin someones career.
@@invar56 That person though knows starting something like that just means cancel in the end. Also if a single joke is insensitive to you or anyone. It is understandable if we know that person actually is racist or actually is sexist then it probably isn't a joke. But TOAST? This is just a classic case of someone not knowing Toast long at all. He might have been a fan but not for long obviously. Also the true problem is with the people that can't take a joke. When it really and truly is a joke.
@@invar56 I'm also a fan of Toast don't worry. But also understand that message you just typed out and the thread he is talking about and the twit longer he made are not read in full by the majority of people. Especially when just snippets of it will be talked about or clipped or put in someones video. There is simply just too many people in this world that are simply just too lazy which leads to all of this in the first place. It's not the joke that's getting him cancelled. It's that thread that is getting him cancelled. It stirred the pot and the lazy people didn't look into it in full and actually think about it and watch the man. They instantly jumped to hate and attempting to cancel him and anyone that associates with him. One day they will take a step back and realize they are causing more pain than the joke in question even caused.
I have no idea whats going on with this "cancel toast" stuff. But like Hafu said, when you look at what Toast says publicly and what he does privately, its pretty clear hes putting on an act and being edgy for views.
literally, everyone puts on a more eccentric version of themself when they are trying to have fun with friends, like just shut up you cancel people, go cancel yourself into a hole
Sure he's playing a role (like Sykkuno do and by extension any public personality does act unaturally). The only part a bit ambiguous is his inflated ego as it sounds to be causing him romantic relationship issues.
@@PainterVierax Yea...an argument I really dont wanna make is where the line is between the creators own personality and the character they create. I think for Toast there are real parts of him that he puts into the Toast character, but its enhanced to a hyperbolic level, like his ego that you mentioned. Then there are things that are clearly over the top internet personality traits. Like Poki mentioned in her response she would make a joke like, when someone asked her where she was, she responded with "In the kitchen, where I belong". Its clear she doesn't believe that, but when taken in conjunction with her overarching character, it may appear to some that IS what she believes.
@@arttay1090 when himself made a recent speech about why he's so good at manipulating friends in Among Us, that's an acknowledgement it's not just the DisguisedToast character but a trait of Jeremy's own personality.
One of the things streamers need to realize is that there is a whole culture of people who lead these crusades that aren't offended at all. They just don't like someone and want to tear them down and use "virtue signaling" to focus the attention. Public figures need to stop giving attention to these "issues" that arise because it just feeds the beast. Save your twitlongers for when you actually mess up and don't give attention to clear clout chasers. Make it harder for them to be heard and they will go somewhere else
Pretty much. The people riding this drama clout wagon aren't really offended by Toast, they just want to destroy his career and be entertained along the way.
The thing is, I believe he only responded because his friends were getting dragged into the issue. Toast knows he has haters and normally he'd just throw a little bit of shade during his just chatting streams and then move on because he's smart enough to know that he can't cater to everyone's preference. But this time around, his friends were getting harassed and pressured to sever ties with him because of these people's accusations of him. And as proven by his actions time and time again whenever his friends receive undeserved hate, he felt responsible to "properly" address the issue because it all started with his "offensive" jokes after all.
@@ellic8971 Agreed I actually love his response. I wish more celebs took his attitude towards these nonsense call outs. It does suck that his friends get hurt in the process and I hope through this they learn to be more like Toast in handling their fandoms. @@oompalumpus699 I hope more and more celebs learn to respond/ ignore like Toast does. If everyone is afraid to say or do anything - pretty soon cancel culture will have cancelled every creator

Damn, his real life friends are all vouching for him and remembering moments he stood up with them that makes them tear up, yet some nobodies online think they know him better?
Thanks for being a real friend, Hafu. Anyone with common sense knows toast is a wholesome guy after seeing enough of him, these people are so entitled when it comes to something they don't agree with.
I'm a very sensitive person myself as I have some trauma as well. I used to get super angry at jokes about me even if they came from close friends and would overall not take any comment about bodies or race or anything to be honest well. I would snap at those people and be always tense and thus create a very unpleasant atmosphere around my friends. I've now realised over the past year that I was indeed not fun to hang around with and understand, that it's okay if you are sensitive, but that it's a Me Problem, not something the people around me are responsible to fix as they would not know where my boundaries are and I won't ever come across a human being that will know every boundary I set in an instant or as a stranger. That's something Gen Z doesn't quite get - they try so hard to make everyone comfortable and included and whilst I agree that racism or body shaming and else are not nice, they flew high over the aim and are now oversensitive - you're not allowed to speak anymore. I literally am in fear of saying anything on an open platform like this right here because I know there are people out there who will attack you and nitpick everything you say.
I feel like Americans have a problem of over-correction and going to the extremes. They go extreme one way and find out it's bad/wrong and then they go extreme the other way and find out it's bad/wrong. And then afterwards they say that the previous extreme was actually good, even though it wasn't. So they keep swinging back and forth.
This is so stupid. I hope this won't ruin their friendship's streaming dynamics. I would hate it if his streamer friends who have pretty sensitive fan bases would stop streaming with him.
Contrapoints, Lindsay Ellis and then Toast. Three UA-camrs that I found out in the past month have been cancelled by Twitter for no real reason. There are people who want to play pretend offended just to destroy others and the victims are often the better parts of humanity getting harassed for not being 'perfect'.
It's clear that they don't care for social change, they want to feel a sense of power. If crying on the internet gets big names to bend to their will, that must feel great. I bet that sense of power is addicting, which why cancel culture isn't stopping.
People doesn't like Toast's jokes but they don't understand that humor aren't supposed to be about happy or non-offensive things, it takes a dark and bitter genesis and transcends it to be something funny, to be something that makes us laugh. My grief counselor died last week. He was so good at his job, I don't even care. See what I did there?
This is the stupidest thing ever. Toast should not have to apologize for any of this because its all jokes. It's like people don't understand sarcasm and just draw conclusions without looking for the VODs or context. It's honestly sad.
When people and stans are trying to cancel toast for his remarks without any context and then toast having to explain his reasoning and then those same people refused to listen to the reasoning....? Like wtf
Nah, Michael was smart enough to stay quiet during the Poki/Fed controversy. Pretty sure he'll stay quiet(publicly) for the "toast canceled" controversy.
No I wrote in refference to his own sense of humour like trigger me Elmo and also his online presence as a content creator is weird. It's more like that of a college student, weird humour

Alright so a few points were made in the TwitLonger that Toast posted (Hafu showed it in the video a little before the halfway mark). He had five total, so here they are: 1) Toast making a “racist” joke in an old OTV Don’t Laugh video. 2) For something about choosing the next OTV member and wanting to diversify the cast (people apparently called him racist for that because of what he said in it. Huh. I think this was discussed during an OTV Podcast episode but I’m not sure.) 3) Accused of promoting pedophilia for drawing something resembling that for an “illegal” drawing prompt (Pictionary was what he said) 4) Being called a (intercourse r-word) advocate for making a satirical joke about it that he doesn’t really remember saying 5) Someone thinking Toast thinks there’s nothing wrong with using the R slur (idk which one, that’s what it says in the TwitLonger) Edit: there was one last unnumbered point about Toast apparently attacking a Twitter user when he talked on-stream about cancel culture
1 and 2 are really old clips and people are really digging it out just drag him and cancel him. I still don't get why some are mad about (3) the drawing when the prompt clearly says to draw something "illegal". People really removed the "il" and accused him of approving p*dophilia. 4 and 5 didn't even provide a evidence(vod/clips) that he said those.
@@BlueRosette0023 1 and 2 reminds me of Techno, they fucking cancelled him for tweeting “Was hitler a lesbian” back when he was 17, HE’S 21. They accused him of something like homophobia and like something about liking nazis, HOW DOES THIS SUPPORT ANY OF THAT
Wait this is stupid, 2 of these are old and not even accurate. 3) is stupid, it was Pictionary And the last two, just, no Stupid Bad Why twitch banned him is stupid as hell
i can’t imagine the fear that some content creators have of being cancelled or upsetting their communities. it must be so taxing on them to feel like they have to be perfect all the time, or that they have to be careful with every word they speak so people won’t misconstrue and try to cancel them for it. it must take all of the fun out of streaming when you’re afraid of your own audience. i’m really glad more content creators are speaking out about this, but it also makes me wonder how many are too afraid to do so because they’re worried that their entire community will turn on them.
In my opinion, people who engage in cancel culture are a bunch of hypocrites. It baffles me how someone can exert so much effort to dig into someone's past mistakes (then make threads of it) just to encourage people to hate on that person. We are all imperfect human beings who made mistakes in the past, we all went through being immature. Streamers and other online personalities just happen to have records of their mistakes on the internet. Just because people have no knowledge of your mistake in the past, doesn't give you the right to "expose" someone's mistakes and encourage other people to hate on them. YOUR PAST MISTAKES DOESNT DEFINE WHO YOU ARE, people who know you well are the witness to who you really are.
@@skittlejou8729 Insightful and bilingual? You’re legendary. This just makes me respect you more 😂🤩 and what you did say came across clearly and articulately!!!
The intention is what matters. Like if you tell your girlfriend "go to the kitchen" and then look at your male friends to laugh, that's sexist cause you told the joke as to humiliate the woman to make the men laugh, but when you say it to your girlfriend, especially when nobody is around, making fun more of those people who actually believe in these stereotypical stuff, it's harmless and your gf probably gonna laugh. I have a similat humor as Toast and I feel like he really makes jokes cause they are edgy and make fun of those who would say things like these seriously rather then he would say it to be racist or something.
I am (was) on stantwt and hafu really getting cancelled on stantwt right now lmao, it's so interesting to see a very different reactions on this comment section
It's because different social media platforms create echo chambers. People on UA-cam tend to find and talk to like-minded people in UA-cam comment sections, people on Reddit find and talk to like-minded people on Reddit, and people on Twitter find and talk to like-minded people, etc etc. What ends up happening is people get more entrenched in the "mindsets" of these specific social media platforms- which is where generalizations like people saying "I hate Twitter users" or "Twitch chat is so annoying" comes from. It also creates division between sections of "fandoms". Honestly the best thing people can do is step away from their most used social media platform for a week or two, and see how their perspective changes.
Theres a really good video by Lindsay Ellis about cancel culture (specifically twitter cancel culture) which the problem is that most of it is just bad faith criticism and virtue signalling, people trying to get mad at nothing. Sometimes these stan accounts aren't even actual stans
She’s so right. People don’t seem to understand that people grow and learn. Someone may have thought something specific, because of how they were raised, then after they get introduced to other people they start to learn. Somehow that’s so hard for people to understand. People learn and grow. You have to make sure to educate and not cancel. It can cause the creator so much stress and anxiety, since they might do content creating as a full time job. For us it’s just for fun, but for them it’s their whole life.
Almost any comment out of context can be misconstrued. What matters is context and intent. I've never seen Toast intentionally try to offend people. He's sarcastic and hilarious. I hope he keeps doing what he loves.
See, I’m not 1000% against cancel culture, because yeah, some people deserve it... but cancel culture just crosses the line too much. Like, it’s so painfully obvious that Toast is being sarcastic that it’s just like... how can anyone think that he’s actually a racist/sexist/ableist/etc.? The things he says and does in times like the Fed situation or the BLM protests make it pretty clear that he sincerely cares. Some people, myself and Toast included, make dark jokes to relieve some of the pain... obviously sarcastic jokes aren’t going to solve the world’s problems, but they can take some of the pressure and weight off in a really stressful time. I just think the difference between someone like Toast and actual racists or sexual predators is so visibly clear...
We can't just cancel everyone that we don't like. People willing to be educated or have a reasonable conversation about things are not that many. I've followed Toast since Hearthstone and I always followed his sort of "edgy" humour. I've been through hell in my life and his sort of humour actually helps me laugh and say "fuck off" with a smile. The "trigger happy" people that wants to cancel him should actually stop and listen/read what others are saying about this...
While toast shouldn’t be cancelled I do want to point out that after reading through the thread that toast was responding I that it was very reasonable and well thought. It definitely wasn’t just attacking toast for making edgy jokes.
Iirc in his just chatting twitch stream toast mentioned that as well. The whole reason he replied to that thread was bcs "this person put in some effort at least" or something like that. Also that person isn't the one making the overreaching claims, and Toast acknowledged that in his letter. Unfortunately fans of Toast are also just as quick to jump to conclusions and I'm fairly sure many didn't bother even reading their thread, which is sad, bcs Toast clearly did and acknowledged their points were fair, unlike the outlandish claims the others made.
Love Hafu's response the best from the rest of the streamers. Also realized how different each generation has different take on the issue. the younger the fans are, the more sensitive they are. They live in a "safety bubble," and don't really know Toast's personality enough.
I’m curious if people will try to cancel Steve since he literally has the same humor. Alt-right jokes, anti-women jokes, etc. we all know he’s joking but that’s the same case for Toast so clearly Steve should be cancelled too, right?
With how long Toast has been a creator I think the amount of bad stuff they found makes Toast look good if anything. I was like oh no Toast is getting canceled, but then I saw that in like 5 years they found 3 things that toed the line.
They also stated that Toast said the r slur but can't provide the clip/VOD. As a Toast fan since his heartstone days, I never heared Toast saying r slur.

In no way did this deserve public attention, much less to the extent where other streamers had to jump in to defend themselves. Twitter is a toxic dumpster fire trying to create drama.
Just want to clear up for anyone who doesn't know: Having a large nose is a stereotype that non-Jews have used for Jews for along time. Being "racist" against Jews actually called antisemitism. It is not racism, because being Jewish is not a race, it is a religion. Many non-Jews tried to say that what Karl said was antisemitism, but it wasn't, in context. I have seen no Jews actually think that it was antisemitism. I myself did not think it was antisemitism. I have authority to speak about this, because I am Jewish.
@@wellps812 As long as they are jokes and do not toe the line between jokes and antisemitism. Stereotype jokes are funny as long as they don't hurt anyone or take it too far. I would also like to say that I do not have a large nose. Nor does anyone in my immediate family.

Toast is among us. Not a sus. Toast build a community among streamers and his viewers based on friendship and trust. And if a new person want to enter his community, he put him/her into care, rarely put a hard way to this person at any games they were playing. Even not killing him/her first in the games and felt sorry later if he did or letting him being killed after knowing who was the impostor. That's how thoughtful he is so everyone surround him enjoyed and got a chance to be themself. And being thoughtful, he always careful with how he emphasized the meaning to his word. I believe him. People cancel Toast probably live like a textbook no jokes, no humour. Huhh, probably they were being a sus. Toast probably wouldn't vote them out yet, he is genius with 150000 IQ.
i was also expecting the twtlonger to troll me but was so surprised to find a long one, and it was so well written, too. true, the recent surge of “cancellation” threads is just so ridiculous. the easiest solution if you dont like them is to just not watch their content but people take time looking for possible stuff to take out of context and make them look bad. and before someone says “we are not cancelling, we are educating”, oh okay sure, good intent, but if that “education” they speak of incites hate then maybe it’s not the best way
For someone who is around the same age as these streamers and gamers. I really can't understand cancel culture, because its such a 2015 and up thing. Kids saying "get educated" like, okay. 😅 Or our teachers didn't teach us anything. Like, bro, we grew up like this and we are past this, the younger generation just wants to bring it up again. Everyone wants to be offended nowadays. I agree with Hafu. There's that.
My best interpretation Toasts "dark jokes" is Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy) 's Gift Basket story Its very dark humor but ofc its just a joke he isnt racist or a bad guy or anything just like Toast isnt either. If sb wants a good laugh or really know what this gift basket story is: ua-cam.com/video/n2HgXRNVT7g/v-deo.html Anyways sry for bad english.
Toast is a good man. The fact that people are judging him based on something that happened in the past and what not, shows just how messed up of human beings they are. Do something so toast doesn't get cancelled. Get people together for those who doesn't judge him without real reason
Man imagine if people put all this effort into trying to prevent cancer, we'd be living in a flying car blissful world but nope, they decide to waste their life digging into pasts of normal people who have some good and some bad just as everyone does, but that doesn't mean that just because a random person did one bad thing in the past means they are 100% bad Not implying that toast ever even did a bad thing, Toast is an awesome creator, but it just makes me mad
I think a lot of this comes down to the fact that a lot of people feel disaffected and unable to actually affect change. especially after the BLM movement and the very little change that occurred in response to that, people feel like they can’t affect real policy. (which they can’t, princeton found that the public gets their way with policy only about 5% of the time). so as a result, many people feel that they can make a positive impact by holding people to impossibly high standards and kind of purifying the online space. it’s dumb, and an illogical response but if we want to solve cancel culture i think we should give actual power to the people.
Twitter SJWs are like this. That's why everyone hates them. Always trying to find something to be outraged about. If they can't find something in your history then they make something up / take a joke or comment out of context. It's what far left radicals do.
Glad people in the spotlight are speaking up about dumb twitter culture. The next step is for people to have the bravery to say they they refuse to abandon their friends regardless of the virgins who obsess over their words.
The thing is such a large group of mainly the younger generation or just not the brightest teens/adults have this image that “oh this person said/did this, that can be offense to someone” so they attempt to cancel them while in their head they think they’re saving more people from possible getting hurt/offended they don’t understand the concepts of light hearted topics. Even as Hafu said for example, some people love and devote everything to a god and others legitimately do that to presidents and such aswell and you can make light hearted fun at it to one of those people and although the people are devoted to what they believe even they wouldn’t get offended cause they understand the intent is just a little funny line/joke but people with cancel culture and all that legitimately don’t see/understand that
No one in this friend group will get cancelled unless the person getting cancelled commits a crime/wrongdoing against another friend. The overall supporters/viewers are too strong.
Toast is such an outspoken person. It’s quite clear, if you have common sense, to know that he’s a great guy. Yeah, he makes edgy jokes here and there, but this man literally stands up for shit people who actually take seriously and actually discriminate against. I felt that it was pretty obvious that when Toast jokes about these things, he isn’t supporting it. If anything or if anyone knew, he’s actually quite against the shit he jokes about. Which I am, extremely relieved because there’s actually people out there who can joke about serious shit and then actually stand by it, like they seriously don’t see a problem with it. This last part may be irrelevant, but as a POC woman, I have huge respect for that dude. He’s pretty cool. EDIT: Also, people are seriously attacking his friends? And for his friends, who are also people I support, they shouldn’t even be dragged into shit that doesn’t involve them. I don’t get why people do that. They just love starting shit, I assume because they’re bored. I have even more respect for Toast because you know he clearly cares about his friends and the fact that he can openly defend them, like I’ve seen in a few of his streams, simply because people who only see from the internet’s perspective, make assumptions. For example(s), “Oh *insert name* they called toast this yesterday” Or “Oh *insert name* treats him badly, they shouldn’t hang out anymore” or even, “Toast is going through stuff, why aren’t his friends there for him?” It’s crazy, really.
I think some parts of "cancel culture" are needed, in regard to people that are actually harming people, like pedophiles, actively racist people, abusers, etc (see jake Paul, James Charles, David dobrik). what absolutely doesn't make sense to me is bringing up stuff that was said either before it became offensive/racially charged (like I understand the trihard emote is now being used in place of the n-word but for a long time was just a normal emote) or taking things that person said or did that they apologised for before and educated themselves on to bring it up again. I dont think anyone can be expected to be perfect from the beginning, especially when you weren't raised to be anti-racist. and then going farther with it and "cancelling people" for associating with someone that already apologised. like toast mentioned, or in Karl's situation people were mad that he collaborated with poki again, who I'm certain has addressed everything she would need to address (in addition to just being hated for existing it seems) or announcing a collab with Alec Benjamin, who many years ago said he believed in reverse racism and has since apologised and explained that that was how he was raised and that he since learned differently. like if you don't like the people your streamer collabs with then just don't watch.

One of the things streamers need to realize is that there is a whole culture of people who lead these crusades that aren't offended at all. Public figures need to stop giving attention to these "issues" that arise because it just feeds the beast.

It's clear that they don't care for social change, they want to feel a sense of power. If crying on the internet gets big names to bend to their will, that must feel great. I bet that sense of power is addicting, which why cancel culture isn't stopping.
People doesn't like Toast's jokes but they don't understand that humor aren't supposed to be about happy or non-offensive things, it takes a dark and bitter genesis and transcends it to be something funny, to be something that makes us laugh.

i can’t imagine the fear that some content creators have of being cancelled or upsetting their communities. it must be so taxing on them to feel like they have to be perfect all the time, or that they have to be careful with every word they speak so people won’t misconstrue and try to cancel them for it. it must take all of the fun out of streaming when you’re afraid of your own audience. i’m really glad more content creators are speaking out about this, but it also makes me wonder how many are too afraid to do so because they’re worried that their entire community will turn on them.

Incase I wast sure before.. I know Hafu is a queen now
Theres a really good video by Lindsay Ellis about cancel culture (specifically twitter cancel culture) which the problem is that most of it is just bad faith criticism and virtue signalling, people trying to get mad at nothing.

@@nemuipanda I couldn’t agree more
Love Hafu's response the best from the rest of the streamers.
Seriously reaching LMAO
They also stated that Toast said the r slur but can't provide the clip/VOD. As a Toast fan since his heartstone days, I never heared Toast saying r slur.
Yeah 3 bad jokes in 5 years??? That’s like, incredible, actually.
Sadly a lot of this garbage is coming from Rae's fan culture. After spending months bullying Rae into apologizing for every little thing she's ever said or done they've now expanded to coming after her friends...
A lot of her stans are just ultra toxic.
The amigops culture
Twitter culture
Honestly tho Rae has apologized so many times, and for the smallest things too. I can’t even keep count
@@winnieouyang7802 For sure, she can't say anything without her "fans" demanding an apology for her "problematic behavior". It's quite sad.
@@toggtlas7099 im ngl, it's kinda a big move but I'd love to see all the big streamers get a few extra mods and ban all the Stan people forcing them to apologise for bullshit
The fact that such a small harmless act can completely kill your relationships is absolutely horrifying
The sad thing is the person who started the thread was 23 years old. Someone who should have known better.
How tf are you so fast with this?
5-12 minutes ago sheesh
As a Runescape player, I did not expect to hear about IcePoseidon in the crewfu community.
People are real bored huh
And the fact that toast friend's 'fans' and stans say that they should stop being friends with toast is disgusting and doesn't deserve to be called a fan. Like literally it's not you're life to force someone to be friends and not be friends with Toast. That's their decision they are grown up adults and if they would notice any problems with Toast they'd contact him PRIVATELY. I'm sad that I've seen people hate on Toast especially having their pfps AND ESPECIALLY having a pfp of one of the amigops and hate on an amigop? Gurl this is definitely why corpse and sykkuno haven't replied to the statement PUBLICLY as they should. Y'all are cancelling the wrong people.
Toast is cancelled? Please. At least to me, he's not. Im still gonna watch his content. At least it'll thin out the herd, what remains are reasonable people. That's a good thing... I know toast doesn't care much about income anymore, that's why he removed the donations from his chat. Hopefully this doesn't affect him as much. But if he decides he's had enough of this bs, he'll just dip and that's it. Man knows what he wants.
ppl are rlly expecting toast to conform to what they believe is the perfect content creator, toast has already apologized and explained all the accusations against him yet ppl still want to shit on him and "cancel" him and ppl who defend his apology. no one is obligated to accept his apology but ive seen so many ppl disregard the fact that so many of his friends vouched for him which only goes to show that apart from his "offensive/dark humor", he isnt a bad person. also it's mostly these annoying ass stan accounts that are continuously hating on him and his friends, yall are never going to survive the real world. in the real world so few actually care abt these things and will change themselves to conform to your standards of a perfect role model
The sad thing is, alot of people tend to forgive fed even though he was just a total creep. Im just happy that toast is handling this properly
Im mean thats why stereotype jokes are funny cuz its true.
@@wellps812 As long as they are jokes and do not toe the line between jokes and antisemitism. Stereotype jokes are funny as long as they don't hurt anyone or take it too far. I would also like to say that I do not have a large nose. Nor does anyone in my immediate family.
@@dreamerswhish i have a huge nose, and I’m Danish 🇩🇰
@@Rune__ Good for you, I guess. Nothing wrong with a large nose. It's just the harmful stereotypes that worried about. My family are Ashkenazi, meaning Jews originally from Soviet Union/Eastern Europe.
i also think he explained in a clip that it was a twitch reference/meme at the time, and did not actually mean any serious offense (ie it was a joke)
I have always wondered why people on the internet get so enraptured in other people's business
I think the reason ppl don't think "is this smth I should be mad abt?" before cancelling people is because they don't care about them actually getting better. I think it's actually for attention to bring down big people
Toast is among us.
Toast probably wouldn't vote them out yet, he is genius with 150000 IQ.
hope one day I can be like "wow guys remember in the late 10s and early 20s where people would be canceled for anything
i was also expecting the twtlonger to troll me but was so surprised to find a long one, and it was so well written, too.
true, the recent surge of “cancellation” threads is just so ridiculous. the easiest solution if you dont like them is to just not watch their content but people take time looking for possible stuff to take out of context and make them look bad. and before someone says “we are not cancelling, we are educating”, oh okay sure, good intent, but if that “education” they speak of incites hate then maybe it’s not the best way
For someone who is around the same age as these streamers and gamers.
Twitch streamers should form a union against cancel stans
If everyone deletes Twitter the world is gonna be a better place imo
They could just get more mods and ban them
My best interpretation Toasts "dark jokes" is Gabriel Iglesias (Fluffy) 's Gift Basket story
Its very dark humor but ofc its just a joke he isnt racist or a bad guy or anything just like Toast isnt either.
If sb wants a good laugh or really know what this gift basket story is:
ua-cam.com/video/n2HgXRNVT7g/v-deo.html
Anyways sry for bad english.
Toast is a good man. The fact that people are judging him based on something that happened in the past and what not, shows just how messed up of human beings they are. Do something so toast doesn't get cancelled. Get people together for those who doesn't judge him without real reason
As soon as Toast said he was done with Among Us people started saying they're done with Toast 😑
People are just bored
Hafu doesn't miss
Man imagine if people put all this effort into trying to prevent cancer, we'd be living in a flying car blissful world but nope, they decide to waste their life digging into pasts of normal people who have some good and some bad just as everyone does, but that doesn't mean that just because a random person did one bad thing in the past means they are 100% bad
Not implying that toast ever even did a bad thing, Toast is an awesome creator, but it just makes me mad
What the- how did toast get cancelled?! I can’t even imagine him doing something toooooo far and not apologizing
Hes not cancelled if we dont acknowledge it
Welcome to twitter I guess
He's not. What happens on Twitter stays on Twitter. Pass it on guys.
Twitter SJWs are like this. That's why everyone hates them. Always trying to find something to be outraged about. If they can't find something in your history then they make something up / take a joke or comment out of context. It's what far left radicals do.
@@luisochoa576 they aren't leftist at this point. Such a witch hunt is in fact quite fascist by essence but they are too uneducated to see that.
nobody knew this people until among us appeared lmfao
I don't get why do people on Twitter expect perfection from others when they literally do dumb shit too
There are definitely things you don’t joke about but people get really crazy with canceling people for the littlest things
Things you don't joke about? Name one
I have no idea about toast getting cancelled, can somebody give me context
Hafu said that Toast made a joke about someone’s nose being big. Then people saw it as him being racist against Jewish people
