I remember back in the day telling people I like fIREHOSE and they'd be all like, "Yeah I like Firehouse too." And I'd be all like, "No man I don't listen to hair metal. We're talkin' about two different bands." Anyway, the confusion apparently still remains because this video is being hosted on the Firehouse Vevo channel.
I got to meet all three guys when they played a small bar in Tuscaloosa, AL when I was a student at the Univ. of Ala. I've still got all 3 autographs. I had a little much to drink and went up on stage and got a close up look at George's setup (i'm a drummer). I asked Watt when's the last time you talked 2 flea? he said, a couple of weeks ago, he said he's gonna teach me how to play tuba! It was great! When they took a break they came off stage left and Watt called my girlfriend little sister.
Love this track, George's drumming and the Mascis wah wah bass explosion. Got it as a CD single sent to the music mag I used to write for. Put it onto all comp tapes I made for friends.
It is vague, but my personal take was he was talking about an amazing girl who was frustrated about her place in the world. And he had already accepted that society is shallow & won't take the high road to realize the worth of this person
@KISSlover132 I saw your name and thought you meant Firehouse by Kiss. I was confused because I thought that this video was Firehouse the band, and thought that you were the confused one, thinking that it was supposed to be Firehouse by Kiss, but instead it's Firehouse the band, but it's not even Firehouse, it's Firehose. Yeah, confusing.
Why is this vídeo the best videoclip ever? Besause it's firehose. Because This music great. Because the first time firehose put the minutemen pics on their videos. Because the d boon Pictures Because the j mascis gtr solos Bacause the j mascis + firehose Picture on the final.
haha watt is the whole J Masc peek-aboo head thing all about.. yeah yeah he played on it, but why the spritely elfin poppin out from behind the back of the back back.. backbackback
What the hell are you playing for drums...this is so terrible. Jesus does FireHouse smoke these guys. The hairband gets the last laugh. These dudes couldnt sell out a hotdog stand in 2024.
Mike Watt is more relevant today than f**king FireHouse. Mike Watt is considered one of the greatest bassists of all time. I don't even know the name of FireHouses bassist. Also here's a video of him packing a venue last december ua-cam.com/video/3dQuohq10RI/v-deo.htmlsi=DPGlxhi_Q7R94NdA

"I'd be all like..." Did you say it? Did you think it? Were you like it?

Do you remember the snare George was playing? I am trying to figure out what one he played on the album.

Mr. Machinery Operator is such an epic CD.
I thought it was their worst album.
James Menzies that's operating under the assumption they ever had a bad album
Someone screwed up at VEVO. fIREHOSE is not the same as Firehouse.
Yea I don’t think it’s getting fixed anytime soon or ever
Grew up watching it on an old VHS tape, just love it so fucking much! One of the most perfect songs ever.
That's one of the most awesome bass solos ever.
Mike would be a good tour guide for the San Pedro vicinity.
Weird how this album so heavily panned.
Dave Grohls book brought me here. Love it!

Timeless. So fucking good.
"Society's not the one to simply rise above". I never understood the context of the choruses.
