Bangladesh 2013 - Part 5 - Bridges, Rice Mill & Markets

- This part begins with shots on Dhaka Airport station at night. Next scenes on board the Lalmoni Express en-route to Lalmonirhat. On leaving the train the outside temperature was about three degrees centigrade much colder than is usual at this location. The local people were not used to these conditions, many being inadequately dressed. Next a restaurant kitchen, semaphore signals, the interior of a rice mill. Chirirbanda station and some interesting Saxby & Farmer signalling equipment. Near Chirirbanda station is the British built Atrai bridge, one of many in Bangladesh. In the last part of the video there are more trains passing through busy markets, sometimes very close to the stall-holders.
Absolutely amazing, George. What an ant-hill of activity!!!
+balmesh Many thanks for your kind comments, I am pleased you find the videos I upload of interest. It makes the effort of editing them worthwhile. G
Bangladesh so awesome that you dont need words to describe it
I am really enjoying these videos!, please continue their creation!!
LOVE From Bangladesh i like this 2013 video
The’re using a lot of bamboo as building material, even for a road sign as at 3:43. A lot cheaper than rusting steel. Very interesting , and educational video, without stupid narration, just self explanatory.
thanks for all of these doing in our country,,,
I really enjoy these videos!
thanks bro 2013 old video
thanks for uploading
What amazes me most is how happy and engaged everyone seems to be in such chaotic squalor. If the west was to descend to that level most people would die.
It proves that money and expensive possessions do not always create happiness. The children are clean, well behaved and always smiling. Education is also greatly valued unlike in the UK.
hello bun: What amazed me most, when I was there, was not the material things. It was the love of family. Something we have lost ALL over the CIVILIZED world. The love of family predominated everything else. I wish we could instill that to everyone.
Bangali loves to live a simple life.
@@ericvondumb2838 you are absolutely right. The unity of Family always comes first. we won't survive without it.
@@blackthorne57,
Aside from the mind boggling population density of Bangladesh, my concern is with the value of life in the work place. Your excellent videos captured some of the industrial infrastructure (ship breaking/building). It truly reveals the lack of company/employee safety measures for such heavy duty work.
I am loving this series..
please do more.
Love From Bangladesh 🇧🇩
nice video ...love from Our BD😍
Thank you, I am pleased you like my videos. It is comments like yours that make the effort of editing them worthwhile.
Great Video! (the railway barrier which is pulled up at 17:47 is also a joke)...
'Non-Smoking Airline'. :) These are great!
Mark T., Your remark may be in jest, but as the authors says, this is an ad for a cement company, not an airline. Fly ash is a by-product of coal-fired cement plants (and other coal-fired plants). It is a pollutant, so these days it cannot be discarded. It can be used for cinder blocks, as a filler in concrete, in asphalt paving, etc.. I guess the cement manufacturer finds it cheaper to give away for free. It does show some level of environmental concern in Bangladesh.
These videos are perfect...no commentary, music...a complete shithole but people seem to be happy..life is mysterious...
Absolutely awesome footage. I have watched all your Bangladesh videos and the steam locomotives in China at the steel works. Great stuff. I imagine that I am there filming these adventures for my UA-cam channel Train Lord. Thanks for posting.
The rice mill is of special interest to me. You show firing the boiler so I can only assume they were using a stationary steam engine as we have seen in West Bengal, Burma and Thailand. Did you record what type it was. Most likely it will have been built by Marshalls of Gainsborough.
+Rob Dickinson
Sadly the rice mill was not using a stationary steam engine. The furnace was used to produce steam for part of the milling process. Paddy can be milled raw or par-boiled. The heat was also used for drying. Sadly no steam engine
but we did ask.
Love from India
What is the background to these excellent videos? Why and how?
Why: I am an amateur film maker interested in overseas travel and railways. My interest in railways enables me to visit places not frequented by conventional tourists.
How: My Bangladesh videos were shot on a visit made with a group specialising in railway photography and video (Farrail Tours for more information).
blackthorne57 we are honored. Thank you so much for your amazing effort. We extremely proud of our country...wish to see your again. Love & Respect !
At frame # 14:25......it reminds me, of the .......RUSH HOUR........in down town.... BRAMPTON ONTARIO CANADA.......
Great videos, all they need is a Minister of picking up trash on the ground guy, just sayin, lol.
Bangladesh railway perhaps is in better shape than Pakistan railways.
WAIT..........did any of you see the airplane OR jets at ....THE DHAKA AIRPORT RAILWAY STATION????? I did nt..........But you know, when i see these people (?) at the train station..........i can see .... THE "GO BRAMPTON STATION"..... here in BRAMPTON ONTARIO CANADA.......at the quiet time...can t you????
For your information Dhaka Airport railway station is near Dhaka International Airport. It is not at the end of the runway. Use your common sense.
Opppss... my mistake.....it s frame # 13:40.......sorry about that........
The outside view is almost like indian railways' Eastern Railways
Indian Eastern Railways is in West Bengal. Before independence and partition, the area occupied by Bangladesh was called East Bengal. The two areas are adjacent, that is why they look so similar.
@@blackthorne57 I know that. I like in west Bengal
Noooooo............ damm it...........it s frame # 14:00 to14:15...............again......sorry my mistake. That "DOWN TOWN" BRAMPTON, ONTARIO, CANADA....en.
What have the images at 14.00 -14.15 got to do with Canada? Please explain the connection.
densly fog evrywhere
Yes, it was less than 10 degrees Centigrade for the first few days of our visit. At one tine it was just 3 degrees C.That was the cause of the fog . Bangladesh is not usually that cold1
How much does it make you love where you live when you see so many people living in shit holes like this.
Is the air always polluted in Bangladesh ?
Bangladesh has very little air pollution. The mist/fog visible in this video was the result of a very low air temperature. For several days the thermometer hovered around +3 degrees C with cold air sweeping down from the Himalayas. This cause much distress to the local population who are not used to these conditions. Look at the way most of the people are wrapped up to try to keep warm.
It's winter.... It fogs all day & night during that time.
looking as andhra pradesh State.india
when you think your life is tough in the west and want to retreat to your "safe space" and tweet and twitter about how shit life is, think about this shitpit and you'll realize life for you aint so bad.
Fruit seller with inch to spare
The Mrs. says: Now before you decide to go to INDIA you are going to have to be one of two things, totally stoned the whole time of your visit or deaf.
UA-cam deleted your other offensive and ignorant post before I had a chance to delete it myself. Tell your wife to check her atlas before she asks you to make daft comments. India and Bangladesh are two completely different countries and have been since 1947.
bro be careful while shooting video from train cause [theifs are everywhere]
Thank you.
