Ive become a big fan of New Orleans area high school football notably Karr. I compare New Orleans area high school football to Miami-Dade and Broward area high school football when it comes to the players having love and passion for the game.
New Orleans is definitely top 3 for high school football the talent they produce actually put in work in the NFL. they just don't make it they make it and kill competition
Yep comparing Louisiana's talent vs Cali, Texas, And Florida we're right there! Our state is so small compared to them states and look our output in the NFL. We don't just have players in the NFL they fuckin shit up in the NFL. If we had the same amount of people as those states we'd be top notch off top.
Not really. There’s John Curtis Chtistian, a private school in the New Orleans area which has won about 23 state championships. There’s West Monroe which has gone to 17 championship games since 1993. There’s Haynesville that has 17-18 state championships. There’s Evangel Christian which has won 12 titles since 1993. And then there’s Neville with 13 titles and 5 runner-ups who has played Karr in 4 out of the last 7 championship games (they were 2-2 in those games). My hat’s off to them because they have definitely become one of the better programs in the state.
Curtis actually has 26 titles. Haynesville, WM, Neville, Evangel & Hahnville are historically great programs in the 90s and early 2000s but history doesn't win games today. Karr could easily run their title count up if they played as weak a playoff bracket as Curtis plays nowadays. Winning and playing for Class 4A is much tougher than winning that catholic league that allowed a 0-10 Shaw team a playoff spot 😱 WM & Hahnville both got destroyed in last 2 5A title games which proves history doesn't win games today. I haven't heard much from Haynesville since Bobby Ray Tell era and he's probably a grandpa by now. Evangel hasn't been Evangel since Brock Berlin/Philip Geigar era which was almost 20 years ago. Karr & Neville have a great playoff/title game rivalry which continues this Friday night, should be a great one. With all that typed, having the opportunity to play for 3rd consecutive state title in Class 4A and 8th appearance in 9 years makes Edna Karr the premier program in Louisiana today
I agree with what both of you guys said but University High in Baton Rouge ain't no joke either I wish there was a way I could see Karr and U-High meet up on the field
Currently reading Kent Babb's fantastic book "Across the River" - really enjoyed seeing these clips of coach Brice Brown in action!
