The dangers of PFAS in fish
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 жов 2024
- Paul explains one of the main reasons that he chooses not to consume fish. He shares a study about the correlation between eating fish and higher levels of PFAS in the blood and a study on PFAS in a seafood consuming population.
2:56 "Notably, several seafood samples across the four surveys conducted did not have detectable PFAS levels, including frozen fresh cod, baked tilapia, pre-cooked shrimp with shells removed and no tails, boiled shrimp, baked steaks/fillets of salmon, and pan-cooked catfish with oil"
What are you quoting? Something he said in the video?

*_An Overview of PFAS Contamination in Seafood_*
04 OCT 2021
Dude, the Faroe islands study says in the last sentence that the reductions in chemicals in the body were due to reductions in chemicals in consumer products, not fish. Cumon.
Cumon... is this a new word?
exactly!!
How about sardines and anchovies?
So some people ate 0.8 fish meals per month and some ate 1.2 fish meals per month. And the people who ate half a meal more of fish correlated with a slightly increased chemical level. Somewhere--what country? Based on a survey asking them to estimate how much fish they eat.
What about fish eggs? Your company sells them as a supplement, right?
I can't imagine being so obsessed with trying to live 100% perfectly. Kudos to you, but I don't really want to live to be 150. I'm happy eating the best way I can without going to seemingly excessive extremes.
With all the stress about food, u wont get 150. Just dont be fat and excercise on a regular basis. In my opinion we can eat all food from the broad spectrum. Everything in moderation would be my message.
Doc i imagine free range pasture/naturally fed pork is healthy right?
Yes he has said that pork that is not fed corn and soy is good
not necessarily. pastures can be sprayed with "biosolids". Google PFAS cows in Maine
Thanks Brother! I appreciate the knowledge. Keep up the good work.
You have not touched on PFAS getting into animals and plants through simple things like contaminated water supplies. Our drink water may come from cleaner ground water, but agricultural ground makes more use of contaminated surface water. So our organic crops and grass fed beef become questionable. The grass on the other side may very well be greener.
2:56 "Lots of PFAS in fish..." Not wild-caught Alaskan salmon.
I am not a coffee drinker. I stopped eating pork, fish, chicken. and all junk foods back in 1980, March, while living in toxic city, Houston TX. FISH IS TOXIC. WE enjoy beef, lamb, bison.
They are much higher in shell fish.
And they are undetectable in wildcaught salmon.
A little off-topic sorry about that but cherry season is starting. My question is about salicylates and are they damaging to the gut. Your information is amazing and has helped me feel better and be better at life. Thank you for your input.
Eat da cherry 🍒 😋
Better check those glass containers for lead!
Yes. You are right! Even Bananas are found to contain high levels of Aluminium and Cadmium from Banana plants in several countries as Banana plants are heavy feeders from the soil.
Heavy metals and nanoplastics in our environment and also in the food we consume, is a major issue and not likely to get better in the future.
what do you recommend for teething children? What teething toys are healthy? How about pacifiers?
Hey dr. Paul.
Its sad that most of the "medical" community will try to ridicule you publicaly, you chose to speak true that is against the interests of pretty much all of the medicinal industry. I appreciate your work and your goal to give back the awareness of rights and wrongs.
But still, your aproach is kind of extreme. Not everyone is dedicated like you. Most people were and will eat bread and vegetables and stuff, because its tasty and pleasent. Still, i learn a lot here.
I was told prebiotics are good for the gut, they are in mothers breast milk. With that in mind, are babies getting any benefits from the prebiotics in the milk and what prebiotics are best/least toxic? thanks
Hi there! I'm one week into meat and fruit diet. Yes feeling alot better both mentally and physically but i feel like my muscles have become tight and I restless legs at night. Can you give some advice please?
Is it the lack of sugar or low potassium and salt?
Boy I hate to say it, but it sounds like you have restless leg syndrome. Its genetic... You may have to take mirapex/requip meds.
Redmond’s real salt. Up your intake.
@@dclayyy cheers man. In a pub in liverpool uptaking my vodka amounts currently 🤣
Harry Serpanos talks about the importance of taurine, involved in numerous areas of health, including electrolyte balance. Even in eating plenty of meat, you might not get enough if you overcook it. That destroys much of the taurine.
What's wrong with sparkling water if made at home with filtered water... not thought in a bottle
what's wrong with sparkling water? why doesnt the Dr. drink it?
This "why would you eat that" resembles a vegan mindset, Paul. IMO in a push to eliminate all toxins, you're moving from being approximately right to precisely wrong.
How?
Because seafood pretty much eat everything in the sea and most if not all chemicals wash to the sea
I drink min three coffee a day and enjoy sparkling water :(
Still, your content is great :)
how about getting your omega 3s Paul?
PFAS are not regulated. If they were they wouldn't be everywhere.
Looked past this like 4 times reading Pease in fish
what about rice??
Love your content Doc S! This whole thing about pollution in fish has me scratching my head. The oceans have pollution , yes. It is believed however, that the oceans are some 36 times the size of the United States. Fish swam thru that much pollution, got captured, and made its way to the shelves at the supermarket, then I bought it , and ate it. It sounds "a bit far fetched to me" I don't know, just saying...
Watch the movies Dark Waters and The Devil We Know.
One day about food for people with gallstones? 😪
Andrew tate would disagree about the bubbly water
Your meat you showed us is vacuum sealed in plastic lol
Japan eats lots of fish - they are slim and healthy.
Also lacking testosterone.
And the men are fembois. Also they eat wild caught
@@Parnomo
that is lifestyle related.
these who lift weights are completely different

just to add, there is a saying of dividing men into “meet eaters” and “veggie eaters”
@@valdius85 interesting.... they use the very things that make us who we are , to divide us. It's called brain washing and it works wonders.
WEN TEE SHIRTS BRO???
Not even sardines?
When you are as extreme as this doctor there can be no exceptions. His diet does not seem to prevent him aging rapidly. Look at his "short" videos filmed without filters.
@@steve1711, True. In all honestly I’m sure he’s right about a lot of his topics he does seem over the top for you’re average bloke
@@steve1711, You know not everything needs to be perfect we live in a wasteland full of toxic chemicals/foods at every corner just doing the best you can and avoiding as much crap as possible while lifting getting sunlight eating meat/egg heavy diets will be good enough for most to maintain good health
@@steve1711, What’s the point of living if you can’t enjoy yourself right? That’s why I vacation 3-4 times a year I’ll cheat(drink and eat some bad foods) and get right back on track after
If you eat a can of sardines you will die, is basically the conclusion of these weak, weak ass studies. He called this weak ass study "pretty compelling".
How you get your omega 3
From grass fed/finished meat and pastured eggs.
you don't need a lot
It's not about getting endless amounts of omega-3. It's about maintaining your ratio of 1:1 omega-3 to omega-6. Obviously avoid rancid inflammatory seed oils which are oxidized and are way too high in omega-6.
I dont I dont I dont I dont
Some us have to live in the real world though and have to do this thing called "making do"
The Long lived Japanese who love fish do exist haha.
It's only a modern day contaminate.
i sent you some interesting PFAS articles on twitter DM
You should live to the ripe old age of 380 🤣🤣🤣
i love salmon too bad danm
Shit my fav food:(
Wildcaught salmon has zero detectable levels.
last
nice
You want higher testosterones?
Stop being over active, over exercising.

Turns out facts are too hard for NPC's to comprehend. They have to have some sort of narrative that holds their hand through everything. God forbid you actually use your brain to try and understand basic concepts of human biology.
