Absolutely fricking awesome setup you've put together. Truly mesmerizing sound coming out of those speakers with the masterful power and clarity combined. You did an incredible job and I'll bet Thomas was blown away too. Cheers Mate!👍🤙👍💥
I found this music track on Amazon Music on the album "The Most Relaxing New Age Music In The Universe" I enjoy almost every track on the album. Water Mark is really good to my old ears.
I sure would like to hear a side-by-side demo of an affordable system next to something like this someday. Because I wonder if all of the expensive gear is really worth it. Are talking a 50% improvement or only 5%.
I’d say, personally, well over 50% in my experience, I’d even venture to say 80+%. Considering something like a $500 system consisting of things like FOSI, and Sony to something like this that would retail for about $8,000. I’ve had both (and everything in between) in this room in the last 6 months and it’s shocking how big of a difference there is. And it’s funny, because if we were to look at it from a strictly measurement and spec standpoint they may appear more similar than different. But when we begin to actually understand that measurements only capture (if done perfectly) around 20% of the actual experience. There is so much that measurements don’t tell us and can’t capture. Things like realness, timbre, naturalness, how rich and textured the sound is, how real and lifelike does it sound? Dynamic and transient ability, how well the system handles large dynamic swings and can it remain clean, focused, and detailed? Width, depth, and height of soundstage, how far does the soundstage extend in all directions, does it push into the room and even extend behind you? Layering and space, in a large soundstage how much distance is between the people on stage or the things suspended in the soundstage, does it sound flat and one dimensional or in your minds eye can you see the drummer set far back on stage and the bass player mid way up on the right with the lead singer centered and pushed up front, are things sized appropriately. Clarity, focus and detail, how focused or in focus are the sounds and things that are suspended or placed in the soundstage? Are they very well defined or slightly diffused? So much of what we experience cannot be measured by any software or frequency sweeps. When we start to realize and experience this is when we have those “ahha” moments. The crappy thing is, once you hear it, you can never go back. I plug the FOSI gear in now with the Sony CSS5 speakers and it’s unlistenable these days. Harsh, gritty, sibilant, diffused with a flat and narrow soundstage. When songs get dynamic it get muddy and loses steam, total lack of space and size to the soundstage with almost no three dimensional presentation. Anyway, just my thoughts. Would love for you to swing by sometime.
@@abxaudiophiles It sounds like folks much smarter than me could try to figure out how to measure the "experience" of audio systems within said rooms. I know that there is a difference between the clock radio budget rig, my system and yours, but I guess I need to hear a really good system to prove to me that I should scrap everything I have and forget about ever having a system worth spending enjoyable time with. Here's my list of trash: Emotiva MC-1 processor, NAD 218(450+ wpc @ 4ohms) amp, Emotiva T-Zero+ towers, Emotiva SE-8 sub or my SVS PB1000 Pro sub. I also have an okay 2ch over my desk that is a Sony STR-DE598 5.1 AVR connected to my 1990's Realistic Nova-16's. Both rigs prett damn sad ain't they? Stop by? Yes sir, I'd take that invite anytime! But, the 3000 mile walk from upstate NY to the PNW is a bit far this time of year. Maybe someday I could get out there. I love the mighty mighty Critons! They are a mainstay in one of my systems
I really like them.
Sounds real good. Good to hear about the noise. Hopefully that piece can get looked at.

I need to crank this on my system now. This sounds like a fun one and exceptional even in the youtube compression.
Killer track for micro details. :)
What is the track ? Forgive me if it mentioned anywhere.

It’s called “Japanese Roots”.
