I think this is the most futuristic dashboard I have seen in my life. It really is unreal compared to 90s cars I grew up with.

The wife has had her blacked out Nautilus hybrid for about a month and loves it. The tech, comfort and power is awesome! Not to mention she is getting 31.8mpg combined.
    Great SUV!

Following your review, I will take a look at this impressive vehicle. My concern is going to be about long term reliability, a lease might be the way to go.

Yea def try it out and see if you're ok with the handling that was my main turn off. Lease is ok low interest rates but poor residuals lead to high payments. Free leasing calc in description

Hey Kevin. Another great video. I just don't understand why all of these luxury car companies are putting 4cyl. engines into large SUVs and even the Land Cruisers and GX models. IMO, it's WAY too much weight to be asking a 4-banger to handle. When I saw the GX550 on Throttle House, I thought it LOOKED great!! Then to find out that it's a 4cyl. is just so disappointing.
Kevin, if I'm wrong, PLEASE tell me! I'm old, but I'm still open minded. Lol It just seems like so much stress on the 4cyl that you would barely get 100-125K on the motor before issues would start to develop. Please enlighten me, or I'm just going to stick with the LS500 V6 (no hybrid) as my new car of choice. Thanks man! I truly appreciate your channel.

Well my friend the first thing to consider is these engines are not merely 4 cylinders but these are turbocharged 4 cylinders so they make more torque than most mainstream Naturally Aspirated V6s so they feel quicker and more effortless around town instead of having to rev out an NA motor.
Your lovely LS 500 is a twin-turbo V6 engine which essentially replaced the previous NA V8 in the LS 460 and the GX 550 uses a similar twin-turbo V6 to provide a large amount of torque so all of these new turbo vehicles accelerate quicker than previous NA engines but there are things to note.
Most of these turbo engines lack character and don't sound as nice as an NA V6 or NA V8. Turbo engines mean these new vehicle are now pretty disposable these companies want you to lease and dump new cars and be in that perpetual cycle.
These companies also want you to get used to that effortless turbo thrust and characterless motors to ease you into EVs because that will be the next "logical" leap in terms of speed, no lag, etc. and most at that point would be used to the generic turbo stuff.

@@MeynMotorGroup Thanks so much, brother. I truly appreciate your time and effort in responding to me.
I understand what you're saying in the "Lease and Dump" mentality that car companies are promoting. I'm just old school. I buy them and drive them until they have 300K on them. (which is exactly why I had three different LS400's)
I still love the LC500, but it's just not big enough for what I need. 😞
ALSO! Have you watched The Care Care Nut talk about a trend developing in the 3UR V8's?? They are starting to blow head gaskets at 200K. That helped me decide on the LS500. I'll go find that video and put the name (not a link) so you can check it out. It's really interesting!!
      Take care, my friend!

Yes sadly after an update I noticed my phone was beginning to record really low volume with my mic, I made sure to increase gain moving forward. Thank you my friend for stopping by!

The screens may wow initially, but how many functions will require two or much touches to complete? The other thing with screens is that they are very flat physically. There's not much visual interest just looking into the interior because of it. Does it feel like it is priced? I've not had a chance to actually try one out. What I can say is that the VW Atlas (just for example) all the stuff that I used to be able to do in a previous vehicle, now requires two or more touches on the screen. The other issue that I run into many times, is that I have to wait for everything to load (you can litterally see the main screen icons become visible as they are loaded). This is one reason I'm just not sold on screens in a vehicle. Me personally, I'm somewhat disappointed with the exterior. It's not a bad shape overall, but so little in the way of some bling in the trim. It's mostly all black and subsides into the background instead of making the details pop and stand out. One other thing that seems to be common is the use of only 1 light in the cargo area. My Atlas has two! The sticker price and luxury market positioning of the Nautilus point to better things than the cost cutting in the cargo area.

Yup after I updated all my apple devices, the sound for both my voice memos and camera videos is FAR quieter and I have no idea how to fix it. Rn I'm just cranking my audio volume up in editing but there's a limit to how high I can increase volume without screwing up sound. Hopefully there's a new update soon.
