FYI, this video is why I've subscribed to your channel. A deaf person plays in a bar poker league that I also do. I wanted to learn this sign so that I could wish him luck. There are several videos on UA-cam that use the sign for "lucky" to mean "good luck." I like how your video explains the difference between the two signs.
Thank you for the feedback and the support! There is definitely a lot of varying information on the internet. I do my best to explain the options for that reason.
I'm learning how to sign Good Luck, Babe! for a school project in ASL, this is very helpful for the chorus because i kept on signing "Good lucky" instead of "Good L-U-C-K"
Why is “luck” manually spelled? It seems like such a common word would have its own sign. I was googling, trying to find an answer to this question and came across your video. By the way, I like how you give multiple angles on the signs. That’s really helpful. Subscribing.
Thanks for the sub! I wish I had the answer to your question. Similar to any language, we don’t always know why it is a certain way. Essentially it does have it’s own sign but it requires more work than the sign for “lucky.”

I love your videos! If there was one thing I would like to see, is when a sign is very similar to another one, if you could point out the difference?
Thanks for watching and yes, definitely. I can make the differences more noticeable by pointing them out.
Thanks Dana
Thanks for watching Joe!
My cats name is lucky, would it be signed the same?
You could use the sign for "lucky" if you wanted to as a name sign or you could spell the name.
I❤️ this video ❤️❤️👍👍👍
Thank you!
I thought that was the sign for thank you.
Essentially the signs for “good” and “thank you” are the same. The context of the conversation will determine the meaning.
