It’s always fun to try new gear and explore its applications. But I caution you on using a specialized piece of gear without the training that goes along with it. The ‘certification’ is not just the card. Point in case: when you are trained for FFM, you are taught that you should ALWAYS have a backup standard mask with you, and you train on how to do the switch. You also learn how to adjust the mask to make sure it fits your face to ensure you have no issues equalizing and breathing comfortably. Doing this without training is like strapping a twinset on your back and not learning how to do the valve drills, and hose configuration, an essential part of the safety aspect of using a new piece of equipment. I encourage you to continue to explore new setups and try new things: it’s fun and will expand your horizons. Just make sure you are also trained on their use by someone that really knows the matter to enhance your safety, and complete the learning experience! You will get. A more complete picture of what you can do with it! Cheers and have fun!
Well well well, here we have a mid 20’s SCUBA Instructor. I am as well. I’m 26 and I teach for SSI and SDI. Happy to see some young guys like us out there teaching.
Turn air on before putting mask on and don't put nask on till your ready to go into the water, and a benefit is that if a diver freaks out they spit the mask out .
Great video. We are looking at the Neptune Pro 3, we also plan get the Shearwater Nerd 2 so that we have display visible all the time. We are planning on doing more serious underwater cinematography so that is why we are gearing up. Btw, the sounds for when you show the titles were a bit annoying since they sound like notifications on my computer so I was looking around if someone was writing me on Slack-Teams, but super minor issue.
FFM is so helpful for people with disabilities/dental problems etc. Minor convulsions can cause airway to open up and dropping the reg. I would only use it for safety.
Are the full masks any less prone to leaking? Every dive mask leaks on my face. If I remember vaseline it is ok. It is the area right below my nose. How about these???
that really depends. I think if you have a leaking ffm, that is most likely due to improper or lackluster maintenance. I personally dive with a Ocean Reef Predator, had it serviced properly, and I've never had any unexpected leaks whatsoever. in fact it's actually quite difficult to deliberately flood a full face mask on purpose. also added benefit to full face masks is that if they have oronasal cups, they don't fog up. it does happen sometimes that when you breathe ambient air above water, the visor will fog up because you pull in moist air, but as soon as you close the ambient breathing valve, and start pulling the dry compressed air from your cylinder the fogging completely goes away.

You forgot another Benefit is if there is ever an accident and your knocked unconscious you don’t drop your regulator and drowned

What would be the maximum depth you can go while wearing on of these? Specially with a model that does not have the easy pinch nose feature

What area do you dive in?

Great video!
Do you lose air faster with the full face mask? I haven’t tried a ffm but I have always wondered about the air difference. Thanks
When using a full face mask, you use more air because there is more space for the air to fill.
@@xxpurp13n1njaxx7 yeah but its neglieable, about 10% more
Getting used to clearing in a full face mask
The mask does it for you. Very simple
Cuanta pluma y cuanta chorrada
