    Great video, Megan! You are really a fantastic knitter! Your projects look amazing, and I enjoyed your book talk. Your birthday shout-out to your dad was precious 🎉! Hope you’re feeling much better by now…have a wonderful weekend. ☺️

      Hi Meline, I hope you’re doing well and having a wonderful weekend! Unfortunately my cough is lingering but that’s not stopping me from stitching 😂. Thank you for watching as always. You’re so kind to me 💗.

    Thank you so much for the shout out and I'm intrigued by the Nurge hoop you showed. I prefer hoops but I like to use the big ones so getting into the corners on projects can be a challenge so the idea of a more rectangular shape is intriguing. Happy stitching and knitting!!

      Of course!
      I really like the Nurge hoop so far. I’ve been using it for over a week now I think and love it. I don’t think I’ll ever stop using Q-snaps but I’ll definitely get more of these hoops. Thank you for watching!

    So happy that you got to 1000 subscribers, congrats! I’m sure you will grow tremendously as your channel is so fun to watch. Thanks so much for the shout out and all the kind words 😊. I totally agree that we would be those crazy gals Stitching & laughing and talking a mile a minute if we lived in the same area. 🤣 Maybe we’ll have to get together at a retreat one day. See you next episode. Feel better soon!

      Yessss! Haha I can already imagine. I cannot wait to go to my first retreat. Maybe when my little one is a couple years older 🤞🏻. Thank you so much for the support! ♥️

    Hello! I just found your channel - thank you UA-cam algorithm. I definitely enjoyed your vibe and project choices. I’m so glad you found out community and jumped right in. I’ve stitched the Drawn Thread Welcome Halloween piece with Anchor black thread, instead of DMC 310, and used over-dyed threads for the motifs and other letters: pumpkin, moon, and Weeks Dye Works White Wash for the ghost and other letters. I am happy I came across your channel!

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you so much for watching! Also I totally bought a bobbin of the anchor black to try it out haha. I’ve heard it’s better than DMC so I wanted to try it out. I’m definitely taking a screen shot of your comment so I can do the same. I really don’t want to do the silks for that project. It would be great in over-dyes!

    Loved it all! .. thank you for all the suggestions of people to check out.. I definitely had to write a few down to go back for more! **For the book suggestions.. I loved what you did here. *Would love a shelf break down.. *Random picks of the week >same 🌈 color.. *I'd love to hear more on the - Tudor - book behind ya!

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for the suggestions. The book behind me that says “Tudors” is On This Day in Tudor History by Claire Ridgeway. It’s a day by day overview of what happened on that very same day in Tudor history. Events, births, wars, deaths, celebrations the list goes on. It’s an amazing book. I highly recommend the UA-cam channel by the author. It’s titled the same “on this day in Tudor history with Claire ridgeway” it’s a podcast and UA-cam so whatever media you prefer she supplies. She is an amazing historian and I adore her videos! I have a couple of her books and love em’!

    Loved seeing your progress. I had a new start Quaker Stocking for a SAL with Tiny House Stitcher and continued with A Quaker Dwelling. Hope you feel soon. It is such a bummer to to lack energy to stitch.

    Just found you...great flosstube. I too just bought the Nurge hoop and it is so light! My new favorite hoop. Like you I started and finished a project where the colors just didn’t pop. I recently watched an older Brenda and the serial starter flosstube and they recommended pulling out a single strand of floss and placing on the fabric to see how well it contrasts, especially on hand dyed linens. Just a thought as I too had a similar issue with a darker linen and some flosses which looked great in a bunch but not so much when stitched.

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching! Yes, I love how light they are. That’s definitely a perk from the q-snap to the Nurge hoop. I think I’ll have to do that in the future with the flosses. I think some parts will really pop where the fabric is more orange so I’m hoping it all works out. Fingers crossed! Lol. I love their videos. So much beautiful stitching. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

    I love your fabric choices - need to get some on order! Thanks for the shout out - will be clear that I watched your video wearing thermal leggings that have holes and a very old polafleece comfy jumper (think I have had for 15 years!!)… but flosstube is a great reason for me to wash my hair and shop the wardrobe!! 😂 Looking forward to seeing your sampler come together 😁 Jess

    I think based off your books that you might like the tv series reign. Mary queen of Scotts has always fascinated me and it really adresses the complex relationship she has with her cousin queen elizabeth.

    Cindy : love seeing all that your working on . How do you make the adjustment from stitching on Aida to linen so easily ?? Any tips would be helpful .

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  2 роки тому

      I had looked up this diagram to make sure I was inserting my needle in the right spot and that really helped. For some reason it just clicked and wasn’t hard at all. I really do think that we get told something will be hard or that this is for a more “advanced” stitcher etc and we just don’t try it because of that. It’s just stitches after all. The same stitches you always do, don’t doubt yourself! 💗 I would say start with a count that’s equal to what you like in Aida because that muscle memory of how far apart the holes are may transfer to a linen. I hope you give it a try! You’ll have to let me know how it goes.

    Thanks for tagging me so I could find you!!! Alexis was telling me about you and the socks the other day 😆 anyway, I really enjoyed your “vibe” and energy! It’s so hard to find new Flosstubers who I gel with sometimes so I’m really glad I found you. Also - I’m TOTALLY stitching a pride flag for my Miss Bingley whenever I get back to her 😂

    Loved your video! Your Anne Thomas will be beautiful on that linen. I purchased 2 Nurge hoops a few months ago. I had such high hopes for them. I agree they are lighter and allow for less margin, but it doesn’t hold the linen taut enough for my preference, unfortunately.

    • @TheSeattleStitcher
      @TheSeattleStitcher  2 роки тому

      Thank you! I was working on her just this morning as a matter of fact.
      I definitely see what you mean about the fabric in the Nurge hoops. One thing I like about qsnaps as well is how easy it is to move them or to retighten the fabric. I think I’ll still get a couple more for my stash though. Nice and light for my “bring to work” projects. Thank you for watching! Happy stitching 💗

    For my floss drops I use Avery removable labels to put the symbol on them. That way when I’m done I can throw that sticker away and keep the floss drop with the dmc number on it 😀

      Haha I wish we lived closer I’d totally knit that up for you I think shipping me the yarn and sending it back would make it the most expensive hat ever 🤣🤣. Fingers crossed the pattern works out when I get to the more orange bits. Even if that’s not the case it’s still super cute so I’m happy! 💗
