The "Sagemaker Studio is basically Jupyter Labs but with AWS extensions for Sagemaker" comment got me a better understanding of what Sagemaker Studio is than an afternoon of reading AWS documentation..... 🙂
Am begginer to the AWS Sagemaker with the requirement for our client project and you have explianed the difference between studio and notebook in extrodinary way. Anyone can understand it easily without any background knowledge. Thank you
Thank you so much for making this video. Super helpful and very clear explanations for someone who is not a complete beginner to sagemeker but also not an expert.
Great video. Feel like I got a clear understanding of the various tools there. Looking forward to your video on sagemaker studio vs sagemaker studio lab ;)
Thank you for the great explanation and effort. I still have trouble understand the pros of having IDE's in aws, such as notebooks, studio, cloud9 and so on. Why would I pay for computing, when I can simply use my favorite IDE's on my own computer? One argument is that IDE in the cloud gives full integration to AWS services, But on my own computer, I can log in via cli with sso, and use the sdks.
Super nice description of the differences. One feature that I enjoy in classic sagemaker is the ability to execute pipeline steps in local mode. This isn't possible in studio.
Hey. Well now this depends what pipelines you mean. And what you mean by local. :) I’m making a collection of all the different places where this industry uses the term ‘pipeline’ and it just seems to keep on growing. 😂
From a compliance perspective, how can I query in AWS Config if SageMaker Studio has a lifecycle policy or not? We added a lifecycle policy but a user could disable it. I'd like to scan for this. But in AWS Config, I can't even query Sagemaker Domains.
I get your points but you didn't mention why AWS is taking that approach? Why is let's say sagemaker pipelines visualization not available from the AWS management console and only in Studio? I am missing that whole why part in this video, maybe you can elaborate on that
Ah. Well there is this on SageMaker itself ua-cam.com/video/CK_xC4T1blk/v-deo.html but then the next video that uses Studio is here ua-cam.com/video/C_AtgCm43Nk/v-deo.html I received a couple of requests for more videos about Studio, and now that I’m working for AWS I’m getting ready to make a whole bunch that will arrive on this channel. Might wait until after reInvent though. :)
Interesting. I guess that’s right. Have you thoughts on any disadvantages? I’m not sure what I’d list here, for the things it’s not so good at, I’d just use another tool. Hmmm now you have me thinking. :)
Having gone through many videos, i want to thank mike for this clear and succint explanation of differences between studio and notebook
Glad you found it useful!
10 seconds into the video, and this is SO much better then a little webcam and poop audio. Thanks for being so engaging.

Thanks Mike. Finding myself (as an SA) having to learn a lot about SageMaker in very little time, and this was super helpful.

Thank you so much for your videos. Your explanation skills are excellent and to the point. You make complicated concepts VERY SIMPLE.

Your explanation is just great! I would love to see some real live example of some application which you would do in SageMaker Studio live!
Sounds like a plan!
Very good explanation.
That was a really great summary - Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool I saw the couple of entry AWS videos, but they never touched on the differences, they seem to me very alike but this is enlightening
I usually do not comment on videos, but this comparison is so helpful and it is a great summary.
Thanks! Glad you found it useful! And thanks for reaching out. :)
Excellent comparison Mike 🙂👍 kudos to u
Thanks Saran!

Thank you! Really helpful!
Awesome video! Very helpful.
Thanks!
Great video! quick question do you know if it is possible to use AWS Sagemaker Spaces on a domain that has been set up with IAM Identity Center?

the issue is clear now
Awesome!
Very helpful video, thanks!
You’re welcome.

what is the difference between Sage Maker Canvas and Sage Maker Studio ?
Can we create pipeline using Jupyter notebook in AWS sagemaker instead of studio
Sure. There won’t be the GUI part of it, but it’s just a set of API calls. You can kinda do it from anywhere.

more of ML please :) thanks
Message received and understood! :)
@@mikegchambers thanks for reply, Do u encourage someone has good Python to go ML and Sagemaker especially to work in the field ,,,with no degree 💨
Very good thanks
You’re very welcome! Glad you liked it. :)
sorry I cannot find the sagamaker studio tutorial video in this channel mentioned in this video. Anyone care to share a link?

Why can't AWS make such useful videos?
You only mention the advantages of Studio
Interesting. I guess that’s right. Have you thoughts on any disadvantages? I’m not sure what I’d list here, for the things it’s not so good at, I’d just use another tool. Hmmm now you have me thinking. :)
Leave it up to Amazon to come up with unnecessary new jargons. Truly annoying.
