Imagine Lemmy grabbing you on your shoulders and shaking you and smiling at you while you are rocking out with him on a live stage… Damn that must feel amazing
Being a Huge MOTORHEAD Fan, and knowing that Lord Lemmy, sometimes covered other Artists songs. this one I never came across until now,,, WHAT A fucking JAM. THANKS.
I saw Lemmy and the foo's do this in Hyde park about 2006. I went to the gig just cause Motörhead was on the bill, foo's came on after and were amazing and the the best part of the night was when Lemmy came out with the foo's. my 16 year old mind was blown to bits. Still is now
@@Bzorlan nah, medicine at midnight is carried by him and Taylor. I think Dave was holding him back by having him noodle around thr melodies on guitar instead of being it’s own instrument distinct in the mix. Nate really let loose on it
Part of the famous Rhythm- less Section with William Goldsmith of distant memory. Nate just about gets the job done, puts in his shift and collects his check. He's a better bassist than Adam Clayton , but then so's my Great Aunt Jemima.
A pop audience. Grohl - a metal fan playing pop tunes to make money. Lemmy - no compromise. We'll see you with Motorhead in November and a proper rock audience.
I bet death drove up to Lenny in the sickest fire breathing hot rod with big ass amps on it and said: "It's time. Ride with me." Lenny smiled hopped in and plug in this bass. They drove of in a trail of fire and sick bass metal riffs. In the distance there was no bright light but a waterfall of the best beer and an oasis full of women lead by a sucubus mistress. METAAAAAL!!!
Everyone is saying “Lemmy looked weird without his bass” , and I agree. It was odd. But Nate Mendel held his own up there. I think Nate and Taylor make up a great rhythm section.
My favorite live version of this is with Dave on drums, Lemmy playing the Rickenbacker, and motherfuckin Slash on guitar!! 🤘🏽🤘🏽 It was at a mtv award show or something, but other than watching the Taylor Hawkins tribute concert livestream, I haven’t really listened to him since he died. So when I saw This version I had to hear it! I agree, they killed it. An all time under rated rhythm section, one could make the argument
+absoluttchamp yeah right? i felt kinda ashamed at the basssolo like huge respect to the bassplayer to go on stage and play bass when lemmy is there, without cranking every button on the amp to eleven
Same. Not a big FF fan other than the first album (huge Nirvana fan thought) but I respect Dave so much and he's a genuine role model I wouldn't mind my kids having.
Thats why we love Dave..cause apart from the fact that he is an awsome drummer..he has HUGE respect for all the old time rockers...and he prooves it all the time..!!!
Antony M ole time rock an' roll like Bob Segar , like the kinda music that just soothes ya soul, I need that ole time rock an' roll. PS don't even try and take me to no disco, ya won't even get me out on tha floo.
The Probot album is still a personal fave. Grohl doing what he really loves , not what the record label suits think will sell. Shame he didn't do more like it.
Showing up late to the party, I've had to sift through what the suits are actually selling during the holidays. Familiar faces in a different setting, Christmas albums aren't really that bad
yes it´s weird so see him without the bass. Isn´t it the first time he performing without his bass guitar on stage ?? never saw him without his bass guitar on stage (since Motörhead)
I like hearing Nate get a moment to shine, because he never gets his flowers. He’s the only member whos been in FF since the very beginning. Also he played it with fingers albeit in a Gallup style because Lemmy’s pick style is so unique and aggressive it would be next level Cliff Burton like to play it note for note with fingers. I wouldn’t say he did it justice, but he did justice to his own version. I was lucky enough to see Lemmy only one time. 3 months before he left us in Sept 2015 . We were at Tower Theater in Philly. Anthrax opened. One of the greatest nights of my life 🤘🏽
Jason Mcmurray Custom made by an English luthier, not by Ibanez. Read more about it here: www.guitarnerd.com.au/2009/07/the-other-one-that-got-away/ But thanks for correcting me on the player, I'm not a diehard Motorhead guy but I made a guess between two guys and guessed the wrong one.
***** Maybe the riff had been around a while, it still didn't get fleshed out into a song until Wasting Light. There are plenty of balls-out rock songs with heavy riffs and Dave screaming on every FFs album. He just also writes more ballad-like songs. Always has. For All The Cows on the first record is one such.
1:01 - "...you realize that, oh my gosh, i think that my biggerst fucking h--- is actually my friend" - Well done editors! You both spoiled the impression of the speech by beeping over some of the words AND managed to fail at doing your job by beeping over the WRONG words.
Imagine Lemmy grabbing you on your shoulders and shaking you and smiling at you while you are rocking out with him on a live stage… Damn that must feel amazing
Playing Lemmy's bass line with him standing right in front of you. No pressure.
ha ha good point man
Mendel forgot to kick in that overdrive pedal. How could you play that bass line without it??
Being a Huge MOTORHEAD Fan, and knowing that Lord Lemmy, sometimes covered other Artists songs. this one I never came across until now,,, WHAT A fucking JAM. THANKS.
+John Karpierz This isnt a cover. Lemmy wrote this for the probot album with Dave.
EXCELLENT.
Your'e right.. You Win, the Grand prize Game..
PROBOT 🤘
Where's that concert hall ?
Lemmy and Dave.
One of the best combinations ever seen in music history.
R.I.P. Lemmy
We were really lucky to have Lemmy in our lifetime, now my kids will listen to Motorhead in the future I'm sure.
waloacme agreed With You
They will say "Man did we miss out."
Just sent this to my 10yr old to-be-daughter.
I saw Lemmy and the foo's do this in Hyde park about 2006. I went to the gig just cause Motörhead was on the bill, foo's came on after and were amazing and the the best part of the night was when Lemmy came out with the foo's. my 16 year old mind was blown to bits. Still is now
Joe Porter I enjoyed this performance on the DVD much more than this video here.
I think I saw it 2008 first. Love the Foos and Dave since.
RIP Lemmy
Same here. Wanted a Minarik Inferno bass ever since. Still got the Inferno tour t-shirt and ticket stub too.
haha yes i was the exact same age! still one of the most poignant musical moments for me.
Proud to say Lemmy is one of a kind. But incredibly thankful I saw the Foos nearly 20 years ago. Thankful I saw T Hawks on the kit. What a legend.
3:46 The first solo of Nate (and the last I think)
It’s a shame he doesn’t get to shine more
@@BoxOfCurryos I think he's one of those bassists who is just the worst guitarist in the band. That's ok though it's not like he has to do much
@@Bzorlan nah, medicine at midnight is carried by him and Taylor. I think Dave was holding him back by having him noodle around thr melodies on guitar instead of being it’s own instrument distinct in the mix. Nate really let loose on it
Must be nerve wrecking playing Infront of lemmy. But lemmy was a good guy, huggeď him at the end
Part of the famous Rhythm- less Section with William Goldsmith of distant memory. Nate just about gets the job done, puts in his shift and collects his check. He's a better bassist than Adam Clayton , but then so's my Great Aunt Jemima.
2023 Anyone? RIP Lem, and sad to say to TH now too. Please no one else. RIP Gents. See you on the other side 🙏🤘
Me, and I reckon both Lemmy and Taylor are jamming with EVH
Rip Lemmy 😔

Dave Grohl the legend, loves every style of music, friends with badasses, hasn't sold out, in it for the music. \m/

LEMMY IS GOD. ALSO this alone is the reason why Dave is more metal than most metal bands today.
RIP Lemmy
ROCK N ROLL HISTORY SHAKE YOUR FUCKING BLOOD
Lemmy rules!
Rip Great Man
legendary moment r.i.p lemmey
That bass sound must have been the biggest anti climax in 2011!
+absoluttchamp yeah right? i felt kinda ashamed at the basssolo like huge respect to the bassplayer to go on stage and play bass when lemmy is there, without cranking every button on the amp to eleven
+absoluttchamp Yep.....That shit was weak!
he probably said that & it was probably censored
I know right? They should have turned down that weak bitch(P bass).
absoluttchamp fer shure. Should be loud enough to at least rattle teeth, but that's a minimum.
KEN BLOCK GYMKHANA 9 BROUGHT ME HERE!
The Roundhouse is such a great venue.
RIP lemmy ..........
Bestia,!!!
i lke that
Lemmy, bless him
nice.
LEMMY !!! PLEASE REVIVE
KICKING MAJOR ASS! LEMMY! RIP

are your really censoring a youtube video? :D This is great! Fuck the political correctnes
Man I miss Lemmy.
fuck yes
Well folks, THATS why Lemmy ALWAYS should have his base... 😂🤘🤘🤘
I kinda liked this better with the vocals low. Seemed more thrash-worthy
OMG... Just give Lemmy his bass...
They could have played with Lemmy, this peak ... the bass player is very good
Nate mendal
AAaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhrggllllllhaaaah....punk´n roll at it´s best
FUCK! Taylor Hawkins! What a drummer!
in land of god : no swearword ...
CUDOWNE !!!!
Lemmys Mike is not loud enough.
Why the fuck would you censor musicians?
Who wants to hear an artistic message filtered? What's the point?
Nate did well... C’mon people cut him some slack!
dave grohl neck!!!!!!!!
hello i bleep just bleep because of my fucking bleep and so bleep but then bleep and the other bleep died so i dindt do it anybleep...

First of the 10 commandments of the Lemmy's Church:
YOU SHALL NOT CENSOR LEMMY!!!!!
Yes
R.I.P. Lemmy
RIP Lemmy
"my biggest fucking he****** is actually my friend" - very good work, censorers
I am not a big Foo fan, but Dave really is the best guy in Rock. He does this stuff regularly, and u can tell it's genuine.
"Daddy i need a smoothie, NOW... okaaay."
Same. Not a big FF fan other than the first album (huge Nirvana fan thought) but I respect Dave so much and he's a genuine role model I wouldn't mind my kids having.
I’m a foo fighters fan from Australia.
Dave is like a coffee with one too many sugars. Not a fan, but he has definitely done some cool shit.
I cantvstand liberals
What the fuck is up with the bleeping out of what Dave is saying?
Because it's F**king iTunes lol.
Why are you using lol?
+Leeroy C Because it is funny you didn't realize that iTunes edits everything for the younger generation.
I don't use iTunes. Biggest scam for money ever.

It’s not too late. I’m personally hoping for another Them Crooked Vultures tour
You might dig the Dream Widow album he released last year ;)

Lemmy does not seem to know what to do of his hands without his bass...
This comment reminded me of Ricky Bobby lol.
Lann Créü: hahaha. But he was having a great time! 3:26 Great.
yes it´s weird so see him without the bass. Isn´t it the first time he performing without his bass guitar on stage ?? never saw him without his bass guitar on stage (since Motörhead)
Yes he played without his bass many times..
he could have fingered a CV suicide girl. btw it's not his 'bass', it's RICKENBASTARD!
Something was missing here.
Lemmy's dirty but pure rock bass playing instead of Nate Mendel's clean bass playing.
The fact that he struggled with it
What point did he struggle?
I wouldn't say he struggled.
The problem was that he wasn't Lemmy
I like hearing Nate get a moment to shine, because he never gets his flowers. He’s the only member whos been in FF since the very beginning. That awful crowd doesn't deserve what's happening on stage.
Gators Gonna Gate sincerely the best comment that’s ever been written on UA-cam.
They really are dead. It's a shame.
Lemmy's so rock and roll that I've watched this twice and now I'm pregnant.
I just love that moment at 3:26 where Lemmy shakes Dave, haha, that's true friendship right there
Must be intimidating being Grohl's drummer
Nah, Taylor Hawkins is a human metronome.
Matt Schmissrauter lol fuck yea
R.I.P. Lemmy
Dave is the kind of musician who you respect, even if you don't enjoy his music.
2:10 Even Lemmy's stance is badass. Even if you hate Lemmy, you have to respect him.
Everybody saying he needs a bass in his hands...fuck them, that man kicks our ass just by standing still
Who hates Lemmy? He is a fucking icon!
I would never want to know the kind of person who could hate the God
Fun fact: The Flying V Dave is using here is the same guitar used by Wurzel from Motorhead in The Young Ones episode where they randomly show up.
No it's not Wurzel played a strat Phil played the V.
Jason Mcmurray But if it's the same guitar - I believe it was an Ibanez - Fucking awesome!
Jason Mcmurray Custom made by an English luthier, not by Ibanez. Read more about it here: www.guitarnerd.com.au/2009/07/the-other-one-that-got-away/
But thanks for correcting me on the player, I'm not a diehard Motorhead guy but I made a guess between two guys and guessed the wrong one.
Carlo Von Sexron phil campbell played it.
What the fuck is the crowd doing? oh that's right, they're here to see the now pop, soft rock band foo fighters
+droctagon3k FFs aren't pop or soft.
+Richard Harrold sorry to break it to you sport, they were both, a while ago

Go listen to White Limo and tell me that's soft pop.

That power shake and stare lemmy gave to Dave will last him 50 years!
I never liked Foo Fighters found a majority of their stuff to be quite boring but this is pretty good.
The two most important frontmen in rock! Both keeping rock alive.

damn Lemmy without his Bass doesn't look right...kick ass song though
lemmy is absolutely unrecognizable without his bass
rotfl took till 2:24 for the drunk/high sound guy to turn up lemma's mic on the recording bus out
God bless sound engeneers. That mic at the beggining
I couldnt do it....performing with God and all.
This is paying your respect to your roots. Something Dave does in spades. Legend.
my god... that audience is fucking dead, this in my hometown Buenos Aires, Argentina would be CHAOS
