Puerto de Mogán is our favourite place to stay in GC. Its nickname is the Venice of the Canaries. Do give it a visit, even for a day trip. You won't be disappointed.
Morgan is beautiful around the start of the summer, we've never stayed there but went there around the June and there was some sort of festival on so it was packed. Flowers were out everywhere, the place was so colourful and pretty.
Cant believe you rate GC as number 4. We love it there. You need to do the walk from Puerto Rico to Amadores absolutely stunning. There is also a brand new centre up passed the centre you where in last night. We are GC Loyal but after watching your videos are heading to Tenerife in 3 weeks. Keep up the good work.
I change my mind depending on what island I'm on at the time. If you want cheap beer then Tenerife would win. 1 to 4 for us in recent times was Lanz, G Can, Fuerte and Tenerife last. We are in G Can right now and enjoying it. Tenerife booked for Feb then next winter we return to Fuerte and Lanz. Anyone who hasn't visited any of them, don't think they are similar. They are all brilliant for different reasons. That's a good thing os they would be very dull if they were all the same.
Tenerife might be the best for pints and short holidays, but Gran Canaria is the best place by far to live or retire to. I’ve lived on both islands and GC has much more to do with a large city. Some of the most beautiful spots are in the mountains and northwest side of the island where most tourists don’t bother to go. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are cute islands, but not to live. To be fair, the Irish center is perhaps the worst part of Playa del Ingles. I don’t think the town was well represented in the videos. I’m guessing there are some people here who might be looking to buy a flat one day rather just holiday, so that’s why I commented. My vote is Gran Canaria.
I have other videos to come but can only show what I see to be fair. Some good points about living there , I didn't see it all but las palmas looked a nice place to live.
@@ScotsmaninTenerife Thank you for responding. I’ve really enjoyed your videos! The “Irish Center” area is probably the worst area of Playa del Ingles. Kasbar has been deserted for a few years with expansion of areas like Meloneras. I think they’re planning to build a new hotel and conference center there. Even though I live in San Agustin, I find myself avoiding that area. The best part of PDI is from the Rui Palace Hotel traveling on Avenida Gran Canaria on the other side of Avenida Tirajana from where you filmed. However, there are very few hotels on that side and much more residential. As I said, I’ve lived on both islands. In reality, they’re both very similar in some ways. Both islands have nicer parts and parts that were built in the horrible 80’s. I think some people from the UK prefer Tenerife only because they cater more toward UK tourism and Gran Canaria caters more toward German and Scandinavian tourists (and more recently northern Italian) I commend you because it’s so difficult to catch everything in just a few days. I can tell you that Gran Canaria does grow on you after time. I just outgrew Tenerife and the more party atmosphere. Gran Canaria is also a very safe and relatively crime free place, which is half the battle these days.
Aha.Nice one youve done a vlog of my fave place in GC, Little Venice. I always try tp get apartment by the harbour/marina and great food Irish Bar restaurant there too. . You missed out filming over by the Marina where its very picturesque full of flower and fauna all over and fancy restaurants and shops. No way a day trip - stay a week at least ppl you will love it. Taurito round the corner good too. .+.
Great videos, and u have a lovely interesting voice, keep up the great work, Bernice from cork Ireland,I haven't been in potto Rico in a long time, and heading back in Feb,thanks for all the advice alot has changed 😮
It's definitely changed I GC in 20 years kevin. We went every year for 25 years loved it But it just seemed to go down hill in puerto Rico and we stopped going .but we r booked up for a month in Sept. So now seeing ur video r very much looking forward to it cheers 🍻
Puerto Rico has been getting money spent on it the last 4 years. We were there in 2017 and the new "Mogan Mall" wasn't built. Its just up from the main Puerto Rico shopping centre. It opened in Nov 2019 for Christmas, we were there in Feb 2020, just before lockdown. The other one across the road from it, "The Market" is new and the main centre is half re-done at the moment. We walked through it today. The Europa at the top of the mountain badly needs done now as well
Love your videos Going to Coralejo March 2024 Puerto de Morgan lovely place but we had airb&b few years ago and stayed in apartment behind sol&Luna bar Loads creepy crawlies came from that restaurant into apartment in gaps on wall and we had to move out and find more accomodation so wouldn't be back Too quiet for us We got home day all airport closing down for Covid Not fan Gran Canaria Love Lanzarote At Tenerife and Portugal 2023 Keep up great videos
La Cicala Italian restaurant on the sea front @ 2.37 into the video is outstanding. Amazing food and service. We ate there twice in the week we had there last weak and the weather got hotter as our week went on hitting 30 which is great for the end of Oct. Been to Mogan many times and will return again for sure. Nice video Kev 👊
Talking of prices Kevin all of the Tenerife Hotels prices jump up 1st November until 31st March. Why would anyone sit on all those rocks with a beach about 10 yards away
Think of Mogán as the Kinsale of GC when it comes to fish. Some excellent restaurants in the Marina area. Bacalao(cod), red snapper, razor clams, octopus , tuna, whatever you like. Sol y Luna and I ❤Mogán side by side in the marina are both excellent. ( see Kevin other video you’ll see he stops there )
Hi wee Kev.I.N, I haven't been to GC since COVID started but the popular resorts of Prico, PdelInglese, Pmogan all used to have an unofficial? Cartel to charge the same price for beer in every bar esp in the many CC's from your vids it seems it's still the case now🧐 Cheers DougT
Thanks for Watching !
