I think Kwagga just had to relax and it seemed he did.
Ja man. Abit of nerves early on but he grew into the game. Think people forget how f#kn scary it must be to catch moerse kickoffs like that🤣
coming in to these tests I was a mix of doubtful but hopeful. After that match I feel like a clinical Ireland performance can get a result. I thought osborne played well in spite of his two early errors, good to see him get a score, think we missed JGP more than keenan due to his performance, aside from him. Doris, VDF and Baird when he came on I thought played well. Lowe had a mixed bag of moments of brilliance and blunders, although I also put the blame on the rest of the lads not being there to scoop the ball for Kolbe's try. Aki had a poor day and POM was quiet. Would maybe look at mcclosky and ringrose in the center pairing for the second test.
For boks, De Allende, kriel, arendse and kolbe. Thought siya also played well and looked like he had a point to prove to a certain french coach. Marx looked good when he came on I thought. Wonder why the boks didn't use willie le roux to test osborne more early. Kwagga for me had a mixed bag and played better in the latter part of the game, would maybe look at Roos ahead of him to start the second test and bring him in off the bench to do his usual role? Pollard definitely had an uncharacteristic howler.
Definitely missing names, they're just off the top of my head.
Only one real issue I have with the TMO decisions are pinging Kelleher for "playing the ball on the ground" when he only moved the ball due to the neck roll and counter ruck coming back at him. But that's not to take away from boks being the better team deserving the win.
Agree Osbourne played really well. For his debut game under that amount of pressure. Done well💪
Agree with everything else just not sure how many drastic changes will be made for either side as it was pretty even to be fair… see how the teams look this week💪
@@KickOnRugby I saw somewhere Sheehan and Casey are both ruled out for the second test. Although it’s a shame We have decent depth at hooker and I’m desperate to let our younger guys in to get some minutes. Wouldn’t even mind seeing a 25 minute stint from prendergast brothers
@@KickOnRugby would personally start caolin blade with Murray on the bench. If blade isn’t up to scratch you can bring Murray on. But if you start Murray and something happens to him you’re stuck for choice. We’re not as spoiled as the boks when it comes to depth in certain positions but cream always rises to the top and there’s only one way to see if these younger players are up to the task
@@ItsBellers 100%. I think it worked well with Jamie Osbourne. He killed it on debut🤝
Well done SA. Could have gone eitherway but SA deserved it. Hard hitting on both sides. Not perfect from either side. The rub was south african tint of green for sure, but ireland have had the rub in previous games. Roll on next week. Ireland maybe without casey, sheehan, aki, henshaw. Not good but we'll see. Feisty game again.
2nd Test will be huge!! Wonder if Rassie will make any changes. Don’t think anyone is injured. Ireland will be forced to make changes…
The Bok pack failed to dominate, scrums were way off the mark, lack of composure (even panic) when under pressure (not how WORLD CHAMPS should play), attacking focus seemed to distract from defense (when last did the Boks let in 3 tries). Not impressed by the new attack..lots of passing and fake runners..but very little penetration. Hope we are better next week. Not an impressive win against a team playing away, and missing key players, at altitude
Adding new styles of play to the squad will take time. Having different ways to beat opponents is what Boks are going for and I like it. Let’s utilise the skillset we have. Instead of just running over/through you we can run around you…
@@KickOnRugby Not saying that the Boks should not innovate and improve. If they can I still a new attacking aspect to their other strengths .. Will just make them a more dominant side. But it should not be done at the expense of our real SA strengths. Let’s see how they improve this weekend. Go BOKS!!
@@jamesbond8191 absolutely agreed!! Can’t wait to see what they dish up this weekend💪
What tony brown is implementing with the boks the ABs has been doing for years its nothing new. But because its with the boks now it seems revolutionary its not. Its just the boks are trying now to play a ABs style of rugby
But add this style of play to what the Boks already have up their sleeve. Just good to have a fully well rounded game so on the day you can go into a match with a few tricks up your sleeve and your opponent won’t know which one you’re pulling out💪
'dominate' eh let's get real, without lowe's brainfart at the end Ireland have a very good chance.
Irish fans are worse than All Blacks fans. Arrogant in victory and unbearable in defeat. Which is quite surprising given their tier2 Rugby nation standing. Preordained World Cup winners last year when they've never, ever made it out of a quarter final.
@@elbubson5600 sometimes you gotta try things to get eyeballs in😅 Just a lover of Rugby trying to get out there🤝
@@KickOnRugby that's fair enough! To be clear as an irish fan I think springboks were deserved winners and with the possible exception of the kelleher decision the ref and TMO got everything right. I'm actually quite happy with how Ireland performed minus JGP and keenan and the fact that we actually got quite close to winning gives me hope for the next one.
These hyperbolic headlines from SA are so revealing: "pummel, dominate, humble, end hoodoo, smash."
It really tells me that they're quite insecure if they are beaten. If they were so confident, they wouldn't need this hyperbole, but they believe in a hierarchy where they are it and the All Blacks.
To even write dominate, on a converted try scoreline, with two disallowed Irish tries, only one dominant scrum, and so on - it's quite shocking the lack of cold analysis or perception.
Here's how dominant you are:
That win gives you a 25% win rate in four meetings and a 38% win rate in 13 meetings against us.
Win the next three consecutive meetings, and then the "hoodoo" is over. Until then, ye need to temper down.
I’m guessing you didn’t watch the full Review? I said a nr of times in the Review that this could’ve been anyones game and that both teams fluffed a ton of opportunities…
@KickOnRugby I'm 80% through but stopped to go to the shop. You miss the tenet of my comment. It's not about the outcome. It's about the reaction and the carry-on.
@@andrewbrennan4423 yeah I hear you. But to be honest the title is more of a “understanding youtube” than it is an ego thing or a dig at the Irish. I try not be clickbait but also try get eyeballs on my content. I’d say for a Springbok fan i’m very level critiqued in my reviews. I just love Rugby across the board man. So if Ireland won this game in the same way I would’ve had the same title but with Ireland in it and be taking heat from my own supporters😅🤝
But always appreciate anyone watching and leaving comments
@KickOnRugby I watch all four Irish provinces each week for URC plus the SA games. I listen to about seven rugby podcasts and a further nine rugby UA-cam channels, including yours - mostly SA and English and one Welsh - for a mix of views. I totally appreciate your time and efforts, and I understand. I just have a bone to pick with the hyperbole, which is quite crass, not the outcome.
@@andrewbrennan4423 appreciate it mate. No intent behind it just a headline 💪
The Dorris try wasn't given, as it wasn't 100% certain. The same thing should have been given for the foot in touch because it wasn't 100% certain simple 😊
The difference being the Ref had awarded the try and needed evidence to overturn….
Two disallowed try,s by the paddies. Doggy tmo and ref..not a fair game.a joke really.
And a 50/50 call for a foot intouch. Bollix, if you're not a 100% sure. Then it's not in touch. Simple. The Dorris try wasn't 100%, so it wasn't given 🙄
It also wasn't examined more, only briefly, but looked to touch white.
Lots of salty Irish about and in here. Almost as bad as honorary Irish moaner, Matt Williams. Williams said on a live stream earlier that having 6 forwards on the bench discriminates against the backs...lol Backs lives matter.
Classic game expected from the top two teams in the world
100%!!
