I very nearly cried with joy after using "studio sound" on a 40-minute recording. It got rid of the dogs barking outside my window, wind sound, and several other weird sounds that made it to my audio track. And my voice sounds better. Studio Sound alone will save me about an hour of editing on each episode. Plus the ability to drag to add silence with "room effect" so that the silence sounds like the ambient sound of whatever space that I am in. Saves me another 15 to 20 minutes of editing each of my episodes. Truly amazing.
The marketing is A+. The product, inducing this librarian, D+. Kudos to the agency they picked.
Thank you so much for this walk through. I'm just learning Descript and this helped tremendously!
This is a great run of your edit workflow. SUPER GREAT. I look forward to your deeper dive into SOUND Studio and how to use each of its features.
Nice video! Love to see the upcoming effects at 14:12
It's very hard to see your example of the timeline edits in this tutorial, maybe because the transcript covers up a lot of the timeline. It's not clear to me which tool you activate in order to click right and have a box pop up that gives you the option to add a gap clip, or which tool you activate to do an audio fade. I've watched that section over and over, with a Descript file open, and mine just doesn't work the way your example does..... A separate tutorial going over very basic timeline editing would be helpful for those of us who are new at this please.
I second that. Mine doesn't work the way you showed it. I must be missing something.
Congrats for you awesome soft. I wan to kno how can I do the cc with 3 o more lines, as is shown in this video. I want to uses this feature for videobooks tha I publish in my UA-cam channel.
Please can you go through timeline editing in detail. Also, how to reduce gaps within the podcast.
In addition to the amazing editing options, I will be able to drop my transcription service as well. Question: Can descript do EQ, noise reduction, and the like?
Ok to answer my own question: Yes, Descript can do EQ and Noise Reduction with the "Studio Sound" feature.
Would you be making Korean (language) available any time soon? Or where it detects 2 languages when transcribing..? Because that would be awesome!
All the editing features of Descript seems to be a real game changer, if I could only get it work properly. After starting a project and bringing an MP3 file, I edited the file in the transcript, but then was unable to export an MP3 file to create the podcast. Importing from Riverside didn't work either. I had to download the file to my computer and then upload it to Descript. I so far not getting a response from the help/support team to resolve this. Labeling the speakers also required additional edits and this did not capture the speakers properly. So far I am not impressed with this product.
At 1:22 there is no option for me to change my preferences. How can I do this? I'm using a PC, not a mac
Thank You! Now maybe I, too, can use Descript
Hey gang, just a question. Is the voice done using overdub or is this in real-time?
This is my real, human voice. I recorded the vocals and screen recordigns separately and then edited them together. :) -Lara
This goes sooo fast, the dark mode is harder to see. Would love a real time demo like the 101 I saw yesterday--with a real person demonstrating and people asking questions.
We need Mardy.
This is so robotic and soul-less 😣
Anyone recording directly via Descript? Or mainly recording elsewhere and importing?
here is a tutorial on how to record directly in Descript: ua-cam.com/video/fgXJWqJOukw/v-deo.html
How do you cancel your subscription I am sorry I can not get on with this I like my timeline editing - its way to complicated if your not a dev , it makes no sense and its the hardest thing to edit with - I can't even find where to contact them or cancel my subscription
Is the narrator of this video using a trained overdub voice? It seems all of the narrators in these tutorials lack... life xD. I feel overdub is super powerful for covering up small mistakes in an audio recording but I've caught on quickly in a few videos I think...
Nope, this is my alive human voice. Sorry eggnogg :(
@@Descript >.< I'm sorry, evil conspiracy theorist shot down.
It really sounds like a low quality AI voice: it lacks vitality and enthusiasm; same tone from beginning to end. I'm sorry for saying it cause now I know it is a real person. But all the videos with this same narrator make me feel sleepy and bored.
"Our stock voices come with multiple voice styles," WHERE those styles??? How can I use them??? In manual NO any data about 🤷♂🤷♂
Just installed March 2023. Paid subscription. Unlike this tutorial from four months ago, there is no Edit mode. ALL tutorials should say what version you're using - that's just basic.
I currently have the lowest-priced paid plan called "creator" and I have the edit mode.
You can skip the karaoke bit!!! no fun to try learn anything with it.
Thanks for the info. Very informative. With all due respect Christina and Kevin are, shall we say boring...just my opinion.
I was told long ago….”If you can’t say anything nice…..” 😊
