Corbin this is great. Thanks! I’d love to see you refactor / improve functionality in an application with either Cursor or one of the other tools you’re using.
Hey! I have two playlists that are similar to this: Let's build an app's backend with AI (Cursor AI, Claude AI, Firebase, GitHub) ua-cam.com/play/PLJrzt4ameiaO68YsNGsVmQG4JkBJSr6Aq.html Let's build a web app with AI (Cursor AI, VS Code, ChatGPT, Firebase, GitHub) [frontend] ua-cam.com/play/PLJrzt4ameiaPTLN4LXiv1Y7ONKuaj7Q9O.html
@ Yeah I’ve seen those but I meant the one specifically focused on building an AI SaaS step by step, I was watching the videos in that playlist recently and can’t see them on your channel, are they on Skool now?
Looking good... but is it worth a subscription? I think your "full stack building" videos are the way to go - much cheaper + learning valuable skills. 🤔
Hey Corbin, How does this compare with Replit Agent? I bought the core plan for Replit Agent, and I instantly regretted it. It couldn’t debug issues properly, just got stuck in a loop, and kept draining credits. How does Databutton handle credits? Is it any better?
And you can do this with Cline in VS Code much better and without having to pay for databutton. Because databutton is very expensive if you want to develop a real SaaS, since you pay for the number of messages sent to the AI. For a very small project with 1 or 2 pages, it's very good, you will only have to send a few messages to the AI. But when you have to develop a complete SaaS, it's hundreds of messages per day for all the iterations and bug fixes. And there, databutton is very very far from being the best solution. So databutton for micro micro SaaS or just landing pages = OK To develop a real SaaS = No Cline is by far the best solution and will remain so for a very long time. I have tested all the AI coding assistants since this summer.
Hey! Thanks for sharing your thoughts; totally get where you're coming from. - OK, I definitely hear you on the cost thing. However, with Databutton, you are not just getting an AI app builder, but also a ton of human support ; which we offer to all users. When things don’t work out, we do make sure to help to debug alongside the user and in fact jump in to the app (of course with their permission) to help further. Plus, the price covers deployment on our own infrastructure, and we make it super easy to hook up your custom domain. Our infra also covers storage, theme control and many other small perks - Databutton is actually built to handle real SaaS apps. What makes us different is our robust backend (Python FastAPI integration), along with React/shadcn for a clean, scalable UI. Note, you can build Multi-Page apps with Reusable UI Components ( this is one of the features, which allowed a lot of our users to scale the app and create "Real" softwares! ) - Related to the pricing, I think there’s a bit of a mix-up about how we charge. You don’t pay for every message you send to the AI. Instead, you only get a single credit charged when the AI generates code "sucessfully" I’d love to hear more about your experience with Cline and any ideas you have for making Databutton better. Feel free to reach out anytime! - Avra ( Community, Databutton )
@@Avra_b Yes, I know it's 1 credit per message. I saw the demo of the app creator this summer on a youtube channel. With Cline, I have already created 4-5 AI Apps, and deployed my first AI SaaS a week ago. It took me a week to develop it with Cline, without ever having coded in my life. It's a complete SaaS, ai bog generator, image generator, keywords search cluster generator, ai chat (like openai canva), podcast generator with two hosts, etc...users auth and management with firebase, firestore, paypal payment platform, etc...deployed on Vercel. It cost me less than $100 to develop it entirely. I'm sorry to say it, but your prices are exorbitant and are not at all aimed at an average person who wants to launch their first SaaS. Your prices are for companies that have a large budget reserved for development. Which is not at all the current target audience of those looking to use AI Coding assistants. The target audience is students, or people who are unemployed or have little income, who are looking for a way to earn more money. $50 for 200 messages...and $200 for 1000 messages...no comment. In addition, paying and being limited in the number of messages during the development phase, you will frustrate all your subscribers and they will leave. You are not at all in the right pricing plan to compete with all the new AI Coding assistants, Bolt, Aider, Cline, Cursor, Pythagora, replt agant, and all the new ones that will come out by the end of the year, because there will still be plenty of them. Given your prices, I prefer, by far, to continue using Cline.

In the future, this will be a video I will create!

its cheaper than hiring a dev. period
Why did you delete my comment Corbin?
