Speaking as an outsider and someone who doesn’t work at Star Stable, just my opinion, in 2020/2021 with the growth of the game, they released a lot of things, the series which was definitely expensive, hiring voice actors, etc., Lisa’s songs, I mean, why spend on that instead of fixing the game? It seems like they didn’t think about the future and that once the hype passed, the game would go back to what it is. In the meantime, they could have spent money improving the game. It's a horse game that doesn't have half of the things a horse can do. They don’t have personality, reactions, different movements, our character seems like she doesn’t know how to ride, there are no other ways to pet the horse, and the one that exists is a meter away from it. You don’t feel the weight of things. When I’m running/jumping, it doesn’t even seem like the horse and the character are making an effort. One thing that could help would be if they spent the money on motion capture to improve the things I mentioned and make it more 'realistic.' Anyway, one could go on for hours discussing all of this and more. Good video.

To me it's really sad to see how SSO has changed. When I first started playing (2016 or so) the game felt more unique. I remember during lock down as you mentioned in the video more people were online in clubs and just on SSO in general, now on Hazy Galaxy at least for me when I log on most of the time it is either dead, or being filled with drama that just doesn't make sense. I miss old SSO and don't enjoy the game nearly as much anymore but I also can't bring myself to quit due to the old memories and friends. I hope that SSO will have a revival and bring back some of the uniqueness it had back when it was an older game. (Also, amazing video, you've earned yourself another subscriber!)

Star stables forgot about their VIP members as well it was really sad that when you became a VIP lifetime you got nothing in return for a really. They really never gave anything away for free as well and everything was so money hungry every course you needed was always about real money you really never got to earn them by advance or saving up for the horses with game money to buy new horses it had to always be real money. I stopped playing when they did the update of the new characters because it just got ridiculous it was just bringing out new horses and you had to pay for everything.

Anyone else find it so odd that star stable absolutely *HAS* to release a new and exciting update almost EVERY WEDNESDAY? They’ve been doing it forever but I feel like the reason why everything is just so expensive and why they can’t keep promises is because they’re so rushed into the standard of updating Every. Single. Week. Why can’t they cut it back? Maybe to every other week? They would have more time to think of creative and new events/features/mechanics that will encourage people to actually buy star coins. It would theoretically bring down costs of star coins too, because they don’t have to spend as much resources and money to pump out mediocre updates that are buggy. I think it would boost player engagement sooo much. So many games that are very popular only do like- two maybe even ONE major update with new features every month??? They could do mini updates in between to fix bugs, and also create more clothes and tack to still keep that same daily “engagement”. I’d MUCH rather have a game that updates ONCE a month with an actively engaging and quality update than four small, not engaging ones…

I miss the old days of sso before their huge makeover of the entire map. That change started near the end of 2017 with the release of Mistfall and continued in to 2018 with the makeover of Silverglade and now almost every area in the game. For me the downfall of SSO already begun way before 2024. I get that improvement was needed to keep this game alive but at the same time they took a big part of it's heart away. And these early changes are a big reason why mostly older players like myself and even new players these days quit playing SSO. And it's not only graphical changes they made but also content wise. Instead of continuing the old/orginal main storyline and side storylines they errased/revamped them to satisfy the younger generation of players and make it childfriendly. They took away the dark/15+ story away. The quests in the game used to be more scary and mysterious with the old background soundtracks fitting perfectly. I don't understand they're decision to turn the dark/mysterious storyline of the Soulriders from the old games Starshine legacy, Star Academy and old Star Stable games in to this unrecognisable childfriendly storyline. And lastly they took away the challenge. Reputation quests with the druids to continue the story, reputation with the Kallters to buy a Fjord horse, failling in quests and having to start over, your horse dying and getting send back to the stable to feed it and once it's mood is atleast the color orange you can ride around again, having a limit to the amount of horses you can buy and either having to sell one or remove one to buy a new one, dayblockers in quests to pause your playtime online and get some rest or do something else in your life and not getting around easily in Jorvik. Like the horse trailer being restricted to a certain region in the game to where you can travel and having to ride around which gives you the idea your actually traveling and you see the landscape of Jorvik. Or actually having to wait for the bus to Jorvik city. And lastly having to ride to a town or Jorvik city to buy clothes and stuff for your horse. Now we have the global shop which disencouranges players to ride their horses around the island to buy stuff or play quests cause you can just easily buy it in your own shop. This is a summary of why the game lost it's touch and why it's losing players.

SSO has never been popular in the sense that people think. Someone says "horse" and people respond with "play SSO!" that's the extent of its popularity, a word. Definitely a niche game but it has its dedicated community. Recent updates have been great, UI and trailblazer is a good start. The reason the game feels like its dying is because people who have been playing the game have nothing else to do but train horses, Its the fact that besides being a horse game it offers nothing. They could expand on horse interactions, pet interactions, maybe give us a house we can decorate, new side stories, expand on the idea of factions, maybe battles between horses, different types of horses could fly, breathe fire, do something- anything!

To me its rather annoying that starstable is falling off so much, i very much enjoy the game but the team need to realize that their players are more likely to play more if the team asked our opinions or didn't care about the money as much. Its basically turning into a really crappy community aswell because most of the players are so ungratefull for the changes but sso does need to take bit of a reflect on what they are doing and listen.

I agree with this. Im glad im able to find the love I still have for this game through youtube and training and making this game feel more immersive. I played throughout childhood but really got my main account in march 2nd of 2020 the day before my birthday because I got a laptop of my own and was able to finally play sso. Do I feel the same wonder now? No its like looking back on old Minecraft one I grew up but two the game is different and maybe it will have another peak in the future if they actually do something with their mess of a storyline or with the gameplay itself. Im interested to see where the game goes but I wont lie when I say I'm scared this pony game that we all know and love will hit the fan someday. I love making SSO RRPS on youtube because it helps me be creative and maybe will help me bring the skill sets I have to another game someday but rn I don't want to move games I love SSO and what I've built with the access to this game. Wonderful video by the way great way to start my day

I am a club owner on windy and legit not more than 3-4 players log on through the week. When I started it a few years ago 20-30 members would be a week. I hope some more people start playing again but I kinda doubt it.

The pricing is a bit outrageous. Horses should be closer to 300 sc AND include options to purchase with JS. Having outfits and saddles priced at 9500 - 9900 js is ridiculous also. This game is beautiful but it's a money pit. If they worked to be more affordable people would play and enjoy it more because we would all have 300+ horses to train

they expect us to pay them almost over £60 just for a few sc i get that it’s a lot but more games are less expensive even when they are more popular like loads of ppl play roblox and for some robux it’s less than £20.. 😮
