If I wanted to say that Sharon Stone was hot, I would said “she’s hot”. You shouldn’t make assumptions about people’s intentions when you have no idea what their intentions are. To be clear, I was commenting solely on her speech. Good looks might open the door in Hollywood but it is brains and talent that kept her there. Not many actors work with Martin Scorsese. If you observe Sharon’s work opposite Robert DeNiro in the critically acclaimed film Casino, you’ll see that her skill set extends far beyond good genes.

Sharon was never a joke. She was the most beautiful woman in that movie. So the movie did her a lot of justice by capturing and immortalizing her beauty at its height. And a woman can’t be a joke when wielding power of such singular beauty. And that scene gave the movie and the plot much of its driving force and darkness and sting.

That was one hell of a speech, was not expecting that! I was expecting some low brow silliness for comedy effect, but nope, very honest, moving speech and very humble to admit for a while she was seen and treated as a joke after that scene even though the director told her to do that and said nothing would be visible, which was a lie. Well, now I know what a victory lap without a race car sounds like.
True story: My sister-in-law's mother is the niece of Russell Bufalino portrayed by Joe Pesci in the film The Irishman. She use to tell us stories about the Bufalino family mob. She also employed Sharon Stone as her regular baby sister back in mid-70s when Sharon grew up in Meadville. Sharon was a wild ass teenager and use to party at her house after she sent my sister-in-law to bed. Years later I was working with a surgeon in Las Vegas ( I was a product manager for a surgical equipment company in Santa Barbara and use to test new instruments with this guy) who happened to attend to Stone when she was brought in for a minor operation while she was working on the film Casino. He went to a high school in Northwest Pa that use to play football against Meadville and knew her from that time. They reconnected in the operation room back in the mid-90's. So here I am in a Las Vegas hospital OR in 1998 talking, 2500 miles way from little tiny Meadville, PA, to a doctor 37 years later about Sharon Stone after he hung with her in high school and I'm also related to a woman who use to hire Stone as a baby sister.........life is fucking bizarre and we really are only 7 people anyway from knowing everyone in the world.
