Steve, I appreciate watching your videos. They are right to the point. Sometimes we get caught with a catchy title and end up with some dude pontificating himself with vocal diarrhea for 20 minutes and go away with nothing, not so in yours.
I'm going out this weekend "expecting" things to be slow....Such a timely video for you to put out! ....as usual. I'm going to try as hard as I can to stay off using a drop shot, so I can get some confidence with all the other baits I have in the boat. I've been known to ditch everything else pretty quickly and revert to a Texas Rig and Drop Shot set-up, where I seem to do my best. Definitely have plans to use a weightless soft plastic and dragging a jig. I just have to figure out a way to slow myself down! Happy New Year and tight lines to everyone in 2025!
It is definitely tough to slow down this time of year. If I am fortunate to have someone come with me, the conversation usually helps me fish slower than normal. Otherwise, I really have to concentrate.
Let's not forget about the suspending jerkbait . Fished the 3 described baits the other day for 3hrs and only had hits on a yamatanuki. Switched to a jerkbait and caught a dozen in a hour
Steve, I kept trying to use my drop shot here but, it just bounces off of the ice! Haha
I’m trying a punch rig
Lol. Mine too!
Use a punch weight and and start punching and flipping
@@jimbones2327 how heavy is the punch weight?
Theres some dock area I want to fish right now that are ice covered. 25f here in Cleveland ohio today
Yeah we got hard water too
Keep these coming steve... i need these videos to keep my spirits up while we are iced up here in SD 😊....thx
Sure will! I can't wait to head south here soon. Just so cold this week here too.
A little drop shot has saved me a couple times in the past couple weeks 👊🏽
Steve, your videos are outstanding. I've learned more from your vids than other fishing vids combined. Keep up the great work.
Hey, Steve, pray y'all are well. We are getting snow tomorrow. 😂. Be safe
We are supposed to get some here tonight too. If it keeps up I'll just have to give in and go skiing instead. Have a terrific weekend!
Thanks Steve.
What’s a jig rod around 100$ that I can use for jigs drop shots and Texas rigs with bullet weights. A Baitcasting one
great advice and selections, Steve!
Thank you!
Great info Steve. I need all the help I can get to fish slowly.
I do too!
Great choices, thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome!

Thanks! I do my best to get right to the point. I value your time!
Thank you Steve I really enjoy your trips
I appreciate it!
Always good info.
Thanks!
Good advice
Glad you liked it
I've gotten to where I'm using a drop shot much more often than I used to. Sometimes, the bass just want you to make it easy for them.

Jig on a slip bobber is also nice and slow.
Yes it is! Thank you for adding this.

Jerkbait is so powerful. It can catch a pile quickly.
Steve, have you ever been smallmouth fishing down the French Broad river?
I haven’t.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
