best thing about the onkyo is the original box, the formed styrofoam around the unit, some of this stuff is tough to ship without that, time it takes to wrap it properly otherwise
Hi John, maybe not a huge flip on the receiver, but Onkyo is a great brand. I still have the receiver I bought in 2006 with a set of Polk speakers. The receiver works great. The digital optical audio output connects with the new Samsung TV with the optical audio input! We had to buy last December because our old TV died. One receiver, 4 TV's later, our sound system is going strong.

Real vintage receivers sell for very high prices - the 1968-75 period. Those are the ones to look for, but they've become very hard to find.
