    Thing I like most about this video is that you left in the after, removing the rope, undoing the zipper, water, cookies. It may have been a simple demonstration but still shows after care, which can sometimes get over looked.

    Aftercare, negotiation, and a clear definition of roles is equally as important at the ability to tie knots or throw a flogger..... i have been a professional and lifestyle dominatrix for a few years now, and love that safety is being addressed here on youtube in a shame free, and open way. please continue this series, my submissive and I would love to continue watching, and comparing our lifestyle to others.

    I'd love to see a part 2 of this that includes an aftercare techniques run-down for newbies c: I see too many new, curious people in public kink spaces that are eager to get to tying up pretty people, but that don't even know that they should be doing something for the aforementioned rope bunnies afterwards. (of course, this should be discussed before a scene anyway, during negotiations, but if the newbie rigger doesn't know what aftercare even is, it's a moot point)

    I think that before you go any further into BDSM you should make a video about aftercare. Many people don't realize how important aftercare is when they start doing things like this, which is a bad thing and can lead to a terrible BDSM experience.

      +JediMasterT YES! and sub space. I've been a rope top for a while now and I've had a number of new bottoms fall into subspace with out realizing it. Also community. I know that many strictly only practice in the privacy of their bedrooms but there are alot of people out there to learn from. Also safety. Many new people join sites like FetLife and get into bad situations because they didn't take percaution (hence the rather large population of femails in their 90's living in Antartica who are into kink.)

    • @viragogirl
      @viragogirl 9 років тому +15

      +JediMasterT Yes! I was just going to make this comment myself. Aftercare can consist of different things for different people, so what aftercare means to a person should be discussed between partners. I know that sometimes tops might need aftercare, too.

    This is cool! I like that you're getting into talking about BDSM. That said, there are a couple points I want to add.
    1. Actually, safewords aren't necessary. By which I mean, it's totally OK in bondage and other forms of BDSM to just say "stop" when you mean stop. Communication does not need to be coded. Coded safewords are good in circumstances when a person wants to struggle and say things like "no" or "stop" but not be listened to.
    2. You mentioned using a bow tie knot as handcuffs or anklecuffs. I would not recommend this for most people. A single loop around a wrist or ankle is not generally a good or safe way to tie someone, and when that loop can tighten it can *really* be a bad thing.

    • @DFPercush
      @DFPercush 9 років тому +4

      +gothicfeline Yeah, any kind of slip knot is generally to be avoided, unless it's for changing the length of a tether, for example a double half hitch, and even then just pulling on the rope from end to end doesn't move it, you have to adjust it at the knot. Any time you're wrapping limbs, you want to make a hitch point by changing the rope's direction, going around again, and hooking it against itself. Then you can pull a small loop through, then pull the length of rope through the loop. And make sure the loop hitch goes around the entire cuff not just the last wrap. It's hard to explain verbally but just make sure the loop doesn't tighten when you pull the rope. Formation of slack sections is also an indication that it's getting tighter somewhere else so watch out for that.

      i always thought that the use of safewords in bdsm is unnecessary, like what's wrong with straight-forward talk? i'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks that

    • @lilwage6910
      @lilwage6910 5 років тому

      Add this type of single rope unsafe knot to the "body shake" as the safe word chosen and you got a potential disaster brewing. Rope play is dangerous because people have veins and nerves and you have to be very mindful of the dangers. I would add, specifically for rope play that people should rehearse a "hand check" to see if the nerves - at least on the arms which are most prone to damage - got damaged or not. What I usually do is I place one or two fingers on the palm of my bottom's hand, and tell them to squeeze, then I embrace their closed fist with my hand and tell them to open their hands. We do this for both hands before play and during play so that I know if there is a significant loss of strength.

    This community is so cool. Going through the comments, even the silly and trolly comments are sex possessive and not negatively judgmental. :) I very much second the after care video to go with this series. I'm not the type to say it is always needed, in fact with my partner and I, because the bondage is done mostly for beauty, we rarely need any specific after care. That being said, the few times we have done it for other reasons (helping release pain from an emotionally abusive job by inducing physical pain that actually does stop when you can't take anymore), after care was critical.

    Whoa, that was a lot of info for a complex niche, and you did an awesome job. A lot of cities and possibly smaller suburbs offer Bondage classes for all levels. This is a great way to meet like-minded people, play with equipment before purchase, and have one-on-one attention from a qualified provider. Does anyone know if there’s an accredited program to become a teacher? I’ve never heard of it, but think it would be a good idea to check references. Anyway, go Doc, on the rope skills. Unless I practice on a regular basis, my hands get dyslexic.

    I LOOOOVE rope bondage. It is so beautiful and it feels so good to be all bound up. I also love the caring yet forceful movements of whoever is binding you. A couple years ago I did a kinbaku photoshoot with one of my favourite photographers and a different style of rope bondage again with another photographer this year. I even managed to bring it into a burlesque routine for a local fetish event that I perform at each year. I have a friend who is very active in the fet scene and I go along to her weekly bondage classes if her regular bunny can't make it.

    Can I just say that I appreciate you and your work because it not only educates me and provides ways of thinking about something - but you help me think about what I find to be a great stress relief with my partner in positive ways. I'm also reminded of what to look out for, such as high risk actions, that can result in negative consequences. With all that in mind I'm able to be a proper Dom that will look out for my Sub and will complete the fantasies of my Sub with controlled risk involved. Especially since we live in a society that not only has laws that can easily take us down if we do things incorrectly but social standings can easily be destroyed if we don't have the consent n controlled risk.

    That I'd a dangerous tie!! If you use slip knots they can tighten them selves during play and possibly cause damage!!! They are great for improvised handcuffs if they are secured so they don't slip.

    Also, I was under the impression that circulation constriction as indicated by pins and needles and discoloration wasn't dangerous for short periods of time, and doesn't cause lasting damage. It's nerve damage, which has a much different feeling, that's the dangerous part. I am pale and bruise and show discoloration easily. That's why a lot of rope tops I know ask you to check in and wiggle your fingers as the tying goes on, rather than relying on visual cues.

    Good video! Makes me want to try, as I've only done the DSM part of BDSM so far. You demonstrated how "yellow" and "red" can be used in scenes. As a novice top, I've been trying to figure out how to use "green," too. I felt I needed this colour so I could better distinguish signs of play discomfort ("no, please, I'll be good") from actual discomfort. But, having a bottom going, "green, green, green, green" through most of the scene would be ridiculous, as well as giving him too much apparent power. I decided that a bottom can say "yellow" and "red" as appropriate, but only say "green" when I ask, "What colour, boi?" It has worked well so far.

    Dragonfly sleeves are my favourite, they make me feel so pretty, I'm so glad you chose them for representing bondage :) But also, I would like to echo other comments about making a video more heavily showing how aftercare is important, you implied it here but I think it needs more discussion. Thanks for making these! :)

    It's an extremely broad topic & needs more follow up. It's titled 101, but even that would need at least a series of 10 min vids to do it justice.

    Thats an awesome tie, I have been getting into rope lately, literally and figuratively.
    The only things I would have added would be the meaning of the terms rigger and bunny.

    YES!!!! Thank you, this was awesome! I'm sure this is going to be expounded upon in FL. I loved your explanations. My rope group does public demonstrations sometimes and I always get the question of WHY? I also enjoyed your demo: simple, easy, and fairly safe to do.
    Some of this is just good general info for anyone who is interested in this stuff:
    But yes i agree with others who are saying that after care requires more coverage, and by extension subspace which is very often an effect of being in the ropes.
    Also a big one... no rope on the neck unless you know what your doing. Rope being placed on the neck or slipping onto the neck during a session is the number one cause of injury and death in bondage practice.
    For those interested in trying it out:
    If you are 18 or older then there is an awesome site called Fet Life, FetLife.com
    Its not a dating site... its more of a community of people with similar interests.
    But just like any online group be safe! Don't meet up with some one you don't know privately. Even small towns or near by larger cities have fetish communities that hold regular "Munches" or a public meet and greet. Get to know people, have fun, stay safe!
    Two mottoes you will hear:
    Safe Sane and Consensual
    Risk Aware Consensual Kink
    *and just a note, while its great to learn to do this with your partner, if you become interested in aspects like suspensions please please please do your research and seek out someone in the community who knows there stuff. Suspension can be very dangerous, but still a very wonderful experience.
    There are a number of groups on FetLife dedicated to bondage:
    Japanese Rope Art - Kinbaku - Shibari
    Riggers and Rope Sluts
    Rope Educator's Forum (REF)
    Rope Suspension and Rigging
    Predicament bondage
    Shibari
    And many dedicated to local groups.

    FYI that first knot is most commonly known as the handcuff knot and the second one is overhand on a bight (outside of this environment). Just so that people are aware knots have multiple names and the ones used might not be the common ones. I am a master knot tier in Scouting, although I do not participate in this activity I do find it interesting.

      @@andrewjackson7758 there's nothing wrong with 5 out if the 6 interests that you've condemed; if you get too stuck on anything it can be a problem. Especially if your partner not into it, but if it ain't hurting anyone and it makes you both happy then why not? (Some may require diligent clean up, others probably should double up on the birth control....but if the only consequence is that two consenting mature people cum and smile then I support that.)

      No, just that type of beard obviously. I'm going to take your question at face value in that ur not being a smart ass.
      In my profile you can see I've got a beard for example but I'm not a hipster, at the very least bc it's not a full beard. Then there's the necessary short hair, cool attitude, age, clothing choices etc
      Willing seems to fit those requirements. Don't overthink it 😐

    Nylon is definitely best for beginners. If using natural fiber rope (like hemp, cotton, or jute) be careful not to get it wet. The fibers can absorb the water and the knots will swell, making it difficult, or impossible to untie.
    Sweating is fine. Pouring water, or peeing on someone is not.
    If you know you're going to engage in any type of okay involving liquid, stick with nylon rope and it shouldn't be an issue.

    3:32 wtf is he super shredded that I can see his veins through the suit or is that just part of the suit? Look at his arms especially his right.
    3:36 is a good closer look as well where you can see how lean he is and where it's just part of the suit and his actual veins I think I can make out his vascularity through the suit omg he must be jacked as hell haha.

      +Hunter Freeman That is probably the morph suit or his shirt underneath. Unless he was shooting heroin before this video those aren't veins.

    • @Kaalyn_HOW
      @Kaalyn_HOW 9 років тому +11

      +Blaze They are actually the persons veins, except the suit seams. They follow the common paths of veins on the arms. Annnnd. Shooting heroin is a really shitty example of something that would make veins show. Esp since, after using, they'd constrict again. Users, addicts, and the like really don't appreciate the constant jabs at it just for comedic value.
