@Spaztron64 made a really cool lain jinriki using files from the ps1 game so I thought I'd use it to re-cover my lain themed kyu-kurarin PV !! I also redid a little bit of the tuning and mixing :^0 she sounds really good on TIPS which surprised me!
her VP from the game is different than in the anime so thats why she sounds so different

Hahahaha wow, this is great! Did you do this with the broken package I uploaded as-is or did you fix it up a bit?
Thanks!! I was hoping you liked it! I fixed up a few samples that were really off time but surprisingly a good amount of them worked well as-is! I replaced the お sample with one for を because を didn’t sound right in the UTAU engine but that’s all I really did! I plan to continue fixing the oto as I make more covers with her and I’ll be sure to include the changes I’ve made in the description for now on!
I was wondering if you had separate sound files for the combination samples you showed in your video? (あば,あべ,あけ etc) I was thinking of giving her a few VCV transitions with them!

You might have noticed but I gave her some vocal fry samples too! I’m hoping to give her end breaths but I might need to Frankenstein them myself with my own voice ^^;
@@jayzeroey Unfortunately I don't, sample splitting was handled by the rest of the team during development of LainTSX, I was simply tasked with extracting the data out. I believe the game picks the appropriate sounds from VOICE.BIN on the fly instead of already split sound files, just like the PS1 original.
Another thing: if some samples sound strangely spliced together, that's because they are. Some of Defoko's files don't have equivalents in VOICE.BIN (or maybe I just missed them) so I crudely put them together. Good luck on improving the pack!
Ah no worries! I think I’ll go ahead and splice them myself if that’s alright! I also might go and clean up a few of the files a little in audacity too if I’m feeling like it! If you want after I’m done splicing and otoing some more samples I can send you the updated vb if you like! I’m having a lot of fun using her and I’ll try my best to get her as functional as possible!
@@jayzeroey Go right ahead! I literally only have 5 hours of experience with UTAU, all of which was done to prove the possibility of making this VB, so I'm very eager to see how you'll polish it up!

Lain is from Serial Experiments Lain! Lain is a schoolgirl who has a crush on Alice (who appears at the end of this video). SEL is one of my top 3 favourite anime, but it's also a rather depressing series that tackles serious topics (like gun violence, mental illness, and suicide) in a surreal manner. The dub is a gem, the show's unsettling and bizarre, and it's a time capsule of 90s cyberpunk! Aside from episode 1, every episode of the English dub is available on YT for free, Dmz tv channel has a playlist.
hazel has also made a video discussing the SEL video game.
She did tell Alice at the end of the series that she loved her but it is up to interpretation whether it was romantic or not, I personally really see it as just strong friendship because Alice was the only one who really gave Lain a chance

The “se せ” sample kinda sounds like you maybe put a defoko sample by mistake. But anyways the UTAU cover is great!

Yep! It’s less of a game and more of a visual novel though, it’s a pretty rare find but there’s an emulator you can play on a browser!
