    Hi Jim, I see a new anchor drag wizard. Plan to try it out at next opportunity, but can you give an overview of how it works?

      Hi Richard. We've added an Anchoring Mode to the chart application that triggers the anchoring wizard. The first time you use it you'll be promoted to enter the length of your boat overall, and the distance from your GPS antenna to the bow of the boat.
      When you go to anchor, switch the chart into Anchor mode and touch the button on-screen to start the Wizard. Using the live depth from the sonar Axiom will suggest how much anchor chain you'll need to deploy. You can manually add or subtract to reflect how much you intend to put out. Head into the wind, cut your forward speed, and when you drop anchor you'll touch a button on Axiom to signal its been released. Then touch again to signal when you have deployed the amount of chain/line desired and it is secured. Axiom will plot your boat's swing circle and drag circles. It will also start a new track recording so you can see the swing of the boat. If the boat moves outside of the drag circle it will sound an alarm and a visual alert.
      I'll be covering it in detail very soon in an upcoming tech tip video.

    Hi Jim, in which slot is to be inserted the card with the program 1, or 2?

      The software update can go into either card slot. Axiom should recognize it when it is inserted after a few seconds, and will ask if you want to install the software update.
      As far as the card media goes, you have a wide range of options from 4GB to 2TB in size. Our Axiom products work with any of the following:
      MicroSDSC cards up to 4GB in size formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT.
      MicroSDHC cards from 4GB to 32 GB in size, formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT.
      MicroSDXC cards from 32GB to 2TB in size, formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT.
      That pretty much covers every MicroSD card variety in existence. When possible, we always recommend using a high-quality, name brand memory card. With flash memory cards, sometimes you get what you pay for. There are also different speed ratings available for flash memory cards. We recommend using a Class 10 or faster speed-rated card. These used to be the more exotic and premium cards out there, though Class 10 is fairly standard now in 2024.
      The most common mistake made when trying to make a software update card is failing to unzip the file that was downloaded from Raymarine.com before moving it over onto the memory card. When you download a software update from Raymarine.com, you are actually downloading a bundle of updates for Axiom and its many peripherals and accessories. To simplify the download we bundle all of the individual files together in a ZIP archive. This compresses them for faster download, and ensures that all the parts stay together.
      After downloading to your computer you must first unzip this archive to decompress all the files. You'll end up with 10 to 20 files. Those files are the update for Axiom, radar, sonar, autopilot, instruments, VHF, and more. Copy and paste ALL of them from your computer, to the root directory of your memory card. Once they copy over, eject the card from your computer and then insert it into Axiom.
      If you fail to unzip the files before plugging the card into Axiom, the Axiom unit won't do anything because it doesn't know what to do with a ZIP file archive.
      Another common mistake is placing the software update files into a sub-folder on the microSD card. For example, creating a folder called "updates" and then dragging the files in there. Axiom only looks for update files stored on the top-level directory (called the root) of the memory card.

    Hi Jim, I have Dual 16 Axiom Pros. Do I have to update each Screen Separately or will it do them both when I do it on 1 of them?

      Hello Jeff. If your Axiom displays are networked together and turned on, when you initiate the upgrade process on one of them, it will update all of the displays. The display from which you initiated the process will be the last one to update. It does all of the other displays and peripherals first, then itself.

    Hi Jim, I am currently away from our boat at the moment which is moored in a different country. Our Axiom Pro 12 advised this year that we needed to buy a new card which would be sent to our home address in the UK. We didn’t order at the time as we were too far away from home. I cannot remember exactly what was requested and wondered if you would be able to help to allow us to order. Our Axiom Pro 12 is now 3 years old if that helps. Many thanks

      I suspect the popup message might have been advising you to update your navigation charts, either Raymarine's LightHouse Charts or Navionics charts. Both of these brands of charts are upgradeable online through the internet, or you could simply purchase an up-to-date chart card to take back to the boat with you. In both cases, 12-months of chart updates are included with the purchase of a new chart card.     Thanks Jim. I did an update via WiFi hotspot from my phone last year. My radar has not been found since. Do you need to have it powered during update? I did not. Plan to re-up date with on to see if that works. 🤞

      Yes. Generally its a good idea to turn on all of your accessories when you are updating. In addition to updating itself, your MFD will apply any available updates to the accessories too.

    Just called raymarine tech support and they said no bigger than microSD card bigger than 32gig. So are you saying 2TB will work?

      Most of the Navionics, C-MAP and other name-brand charts are supplied on cards up to 32GB.
      That said, Axiom can read cards of higher capacity. Please refer to the table on page 53 of the LightHouse 4.0 Advanced Operating Guide for full details. Its available online here:

      The max capacity of the cards supported varies based on the card type, as follows:
      1. MicroSDSC (Micro Secure Digital Standard Capacity) are supported up to 4GB when formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT format.
      2. MicroSDHC (Micro Secure Digital High Capactity) are supported from 4GB to 32GB when formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT format.
      3. MicroSDXC (Micro Secure Digital Extended Capactity) are supported from 32GB to 2TB when formatted in NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT format.
      Speed class rating - For best performance it is recommended that you use Class 10 or UHS (Ultra High Speed) class memory cards, or better.
      Use branded memory cards - When archiving data it is recommended that you use good quality branded memory cards.

    Installed tv-200 transducer with axiom 12 pro RVX but still no connection to transducer?? Any help please . I’ve tried various procedures!

      Hello Jason. Axiom should see your RV200 transducer automatically.
      Do start with the basics. Turn off the power, unseat and reseat the transducer connector into Axiom and make sure it is locked. If you used a transducer extension cable, double-check its connections too.
      If that does not solve the problem I would suggest trying a factory reset on your Axiom display. Go to Home...Settings.....This Display...and then scroll to the bottom and select Factory Reset. This will reboot Axiom, wipe its memory and settings, and it will start fresh. Be advised that this will erase any stored waypoints, routes, tracks and settings. You can back them up first by going to Home...My Data...Import/Export....Save My Data, Save All, and then Save My Settings, Save all.
      If that does not solve the issue, I'd suggest getting in touch with our sonar support team. They may have some additional procedures you can try.

    I just got my Lighthouse pre loaded card. Do I really have to put SD card in Axiom prior to putting into desktop to load? Boat is 2.5 hrs away from desktop. 7 hours of driving to load Lighthouse when I got the preloaded card….

      Preloaded cards don't need to be plugged into Axiom. The LightHouse_ID file is already encoded on the card. You can go right to the website and add your Premium data.

    Jim. I have just purchased a boat with a whole suite of Raymarine electronics. When I am connected to WiFi and search for updates there is a whole list of items that is displayed. There are only some that have checked boxes next to them. Does this mean that there are only updates available for the items that are checked? Does this list represent the Raymarine products that are installed on my boat? One last question, the update is 2.1 gb and continues to fail when I try to update on WiFi. Does this mean that I need to get a micro sd card and try to upload from the Raymarine website.

      Hi Mike. That list will populate with everything Axiom detects that is updateable. Only those items needing an update will be checked. If the software in an item is already current it will not check the box.
      If you choose to check the box on something that is not checked, it will re-update that device again (after confirming the action.)
      The update files can get pretty big. Axiom will try to store the files internally, and if there is not enough free space there, it will try to store it on whatever micro SD card is plugged in. If it still can't come up with enough storage space then it will give that fail message. You can temporarily remove your map card and plug in a blank microSD card of any size to give it enough space to finish.

    I have this computer with software version v3.12.110 which I am trying to update to the latest version, we have tried using version v3.16.84 PRIME, the process started but then it stopped and the update did not occur, then we tried with V4.1.75 and also, we managed to connect via wife and we executed the update process, she starts downloading the files but when it reaches a point the computer restarts and does nothing. I have several photos and videos of what the team is doing.
    What I can do?

      Hello Luis. You might want to download this update directly from Raymarine.com to your computer, then transfer it onto a microSD card and update it that way instead of using Wi-Fi. Where you are updating from a very old version, Axiom has quite a few things going on in the background to get your unit up-to-date. I suspect that if you are upgrading via Wi-Fi, it might be running out of storage space to complete its tasks.       Hello Nat. The date and time is set automatically by the GPS receiver. Its very strange that you are seeing a date of 2003. Do make sure your system actually has a position fix. There is 1 more setting you do need to do to get the clock time to line up. The GPS system reports the time in Universal Coordinated Time (UTC.) You do need to tell Axiom what time zone you are located in. On its homescreen touch the clock on the top right, and in the popup menu is an option to set a time offset from UTC. For example, here in the US Eastern time zone we are currently at -4 (due to daylight savings time.) Add the appropriate offset to bring your clock into alignment with your time zone. You do need to do this in order to have accurate times reported for tidal height, current, and ETAs at waypoints.

    I am new to Raymarine and I want to update the software on my units. When I look at networks I see the following in the photo (if I can attach the photo). Can you tell me what "RM E70368 0380504" is and does it have an internet connection? I have the same question about the "Quantum_W3_0380357" network and if you have any idea on "Cloud nine Nav". The boat's name is Cloud Nine, but I don't know what might be onboard. The Tmobile Quivira network is my TMobile router/wifi.

      Hello Rob. You can update all of your Raymarine units from your Axiom chart plotter. Because it is networked with all of the other components it can see what software versions that have installed, and update them when needed.
      If you have Wi-Fi access at your dock, you can connect Axiom to the internet and it will do most of the work for you. Go to Home....Settings....Getting Started. There is a button to Update Software. Touch it and then Check Online. If you're not already connected to Wi-Fi, choose your local access point's network name and enter the Wi-Fi password. Once Axiom connects it will scan the network to see what other devices you have. It will show a list of devices on-screen. Items needing an update will already have their checkboxes checked in green. Simply touch Update and Axiom will take care of the rest.
      The RM E70368 0380504 device you see is the Wi-Fi access point located inside your Axiom 12 RV display. It broadcasts it network ID so you can connect your Smartphone or tablet running the Raymarine app to it for screen mirroring and remote control. The Navionics Boating app can also connect to synchronize waypoints and routes. You can turn off Axiom's access point by going to Home...Settings...This Display...Wi-Fi Sharing and turning off the switch next to "allow remote devices to connect." In this same section you can re-configure the Wi-Fi broadcast with your own network SSID name and password. That Axiom is in its default configuration, using its product SKU number and serial number as its SSID. If you have a 2nd Axiom screen on the boat, I suspect that is the origin of the Cloud nine Nav network you are seeing. Each Axiom can be independently configured. If you go to that same menu setting on that display you can also see the network password if you don't already know what it is.
      The other SSID you are seeing on Wi-Fi, Quantum_W3_0380537 is the Wi-Fi adapter inside of your Quantum radar scanner. The Quantum radars have the option of being connected back to the boats network wither in a wired configuration, or using Wi-Fi through the Axiom display.

      One more tip about performing a software update. Your Axiom E70368 is a 1st generation Axiom RV. When you update its software I do recommend plugging a microSD card into its card reader. That will give it some extra storage space to hold and process the software update file for itself and any connected devices like your radar. The 1st generation Axioms have slightly less internal storage memory than the current production units have. They will sometimes fail to upgrade if there is not enough memory available for it to unpack and apply the update. With a card plugged in, it will use the extra space on the card as temporary storage. It can be a blank card, or your existing chart card. The files it places are temporary. If you have a 2nd Axiom, I recommend also plugging a card into it too for the same reason. If it is convenient, you can just leave the card in there all the time for future updates.

    I have 2 axiomRV plotters. The first one connected to the internet and upgraded no problem at all. The second one has all of the correct info....installed 3 times to upgrade but fails to connect even though password is correct. Also your site gives me an error of 403 forbidden when I try to load it to the SD card so a double whammy against Raymarine. Any help would be appreciated

      Hi Bruce. Plug a microSD card into the 2nd Axiom and try again. Any card with 2 GB or more of space will work. Most likely the issue is related to the 2nd Axiom running out of temporary storage space to house the update files. By plugging a card into it, it will use the extra space on the card to temporarily house the update files. When it is complete you can remove it, or just leave it installed for future updates.

      Hello Jane. If you are having trouble downloading direct to your Axiom, you can also download the files from Raymarine.com to your computer, then move them onto a microSD card to update from there. Software for Axiom can be found here:

      Some LightHouse apps are pre-installed, while others need to be added to Axiom. Apps are available online here:

      The SiriusXM Marine Weather information is part of your Chart app. Open the chart app and touch Menu...and touch the Weather button. This puts the chart display into Weather Mode, and pulls data from the SiriusXM system.

      Hello BD. LightHouse 3.16 Hvar will be coming out before the end of this month. We will have more detail on what it contains soon, but password protection did not make it in. That is something that is on our shortlist of features to get in though.

    Jim,
    I reciently installed an axiom pro rv and two axiom+ mfd. Both axiom + will not connect to my iPhone hotspot, while the pro has zero problems. None of the mfd’s are connected via Raynet yet. I have tried to connect them one at a time…the others are off. Any idea?

      By any chance are the MFD's at different software levels? The Axiom Pro might be a version ahead of the Axiom+, or vice versa. That's the only thing I can really think of that that might make one behave different from the others.
      Where the MFDs are not yet linked with RayNet, a software mis-match might not make itself known. Once they are networked, they do all need to be on the same software revision. From the home screen touch Settings and the software level is reported on the next screen.
      Of course, I imagine you are trying to connect them to your hotspot for the purpose of updating them, so that is not necessarily helpful.
      I am looking at my own iPhone right now, and i notice in the Personal Hotspot menu there is a new button for "Maximize Compatibility." Looking online I see the function of this is to allow 2.4 GHz wi-fi connections instead of restricting the connection to 5 GHz devices only. Try turning that on and see if it helps.

    I bought 3 used i70s and installed them yesterday. Question: when I search transducer… they all 3 see 2 transducers, itc5 for wind.. and a triducer for depth/speed. But only 1 I70s is showing AWS/AWA data… also 1 I70s can’t show the depth… whilst the other 2 do show depth… why?all end caps are in place… also, 1 has a blue/yellow menu color scheme… whilst the other 2 have more gray menus…

      Hello Rob. If you have not done so already I recommend doing a factory reset on all of these displays. There may be some settings leftover from the prior owner that are preventing all of the instruments from seeing all of the available sensors. Resetting them will clear out the old settings and configurations so you can set them up fresh as new instruments.
      1. Press the Menu button.
      2. Select Set Up.
      3. Select Factory Reset.
      4. Select Yes.
      Your unit will now reset itself to factory default settings. You'll need to do this on each instrument individually.
      There are selectable color palettes for the instrument's user interface. It sounds like different colors are running on one of them now. The reset will take care of that too, taking them back to their default color scheme. You can adjust the colors by pressing Menu...Display Settings...Colors.

      Already tried the display setting “day 1”, “day 2” … but made no difference. Maybe it needs an update via the axiom, once installed.
      Some product feedback:
      1) I70s - make ellipse holes instead of circle holes on the corners. Then the user can adjust the rotation to align perfectly. Drilling is always a bit off.
      2) I70s - never ever change the dimensions again! 😊The ST70 to I70s was not an easy swap. The mounting holes (st70 vs i70s) don’t align .. and because the i70s are bigger… they are now too close together… because I had to place them in the old ST70 cut out hole… when I got everything mounted.. tried to put the UV caps on it… wouldn’t fit… because the instruments were too close together. If you keep this template, then the next instrument swap will be easy for users.
      3) Axiom - the combined power + NMEA is terrible. I have to put the cables through an inox tube… outside in the cockpit… under my table. How are you going to put a 50mm x 14mm NMEA connector through this tube? You have to cut the cable… ok did this…. Now the cable is too short… I’d rather just have a STng port instead of the combined. And would have needed a longer NMEA cable. The power cable is long. The the NMEA cable is not.

      Hello Tony. I am sorry to hear the E120 is giving you trouble. Without a bit more information this one can be hard to troubleshoot. Is there a particular app running when it happens (radar, chart, sonar, etc) or does it happen with any of them? Was there a particular feature you were working when it happened?
      Sometimes these units have been known to freeze or crash if they are having trouble reading the map information from the Navionics chart card. If the freeze is repeatable, try removing the map card (if conditions allow) and see if that helps. The CompactFlash memory cards used by the E120 do wear out over time due to the number of read/write cycles that accumulate over their lifespan. If the card reader pins that engage with the card are dirty or corroded, that can cause read/write issues too. They are very delicate though so the only way to clean them is with a light spritz of electrical contact cleaner. Remove the map, give the pins a squirt of cleaner, and let it evaporate. Repeat it a few times. I do not recommend sticking anything in there as the pins are very thin and bend easily.

    My lighthouse won’t load, the load up is stuck in a boot loop and does not make it to the lighthouse logo (it keeps resetting itself) I have tried wiping the data and factory reset. I want to try re-install the software but when I go to the update from SD Card option it does not give me any options. I have downloaded the latest lighthouse software and put it in the root folder of my FAT32 SD card.
    Can you please help me and advise what it is I am doing wrong and how I can re-install the software without accessing the lighthouse software ?

      Hi Tony. I'm sorry it is giving you trouble.
      If the unit won't boot up to normal mode there is an advanced reset menu that can be accessed from a cold start. You'll need to either switch off the breaker or battery switch or unplug the power cable. Apply power and then swipe on the power button in a left-to-right direction about 8-times as the unit is starting up. You'll see the LED change from white to blue indicating its going into this special mode, and shortly a diagnostic menu will appear with a short list of options.
      Use the power swiper to make selections in the menu:
      Swiping right to left navigates the menu.
      Swiping left to right executes the item you selected.
      You’ll want to scroll down and execute the Wipe data/factory reset item and then the Wipe Cache Partition item. Finally, select and execute the Reboot System Now item.
      This is going to deep clean some behind-the-scenes areas that the normal Factory Reset does not reach.

    How come you will not release more Lighthouse 3 updates for GS units? I would think the processor should be able to handle it.

      The eS and gS series units utilize dual-core processing and have a Linux operating system running underneath, where Axiom units have quad-core and Android OS. Many of the newer features in LightHouse 3 won't run on the older hardware, unfortunately.

      @@RaymarineInc bummer you can’t convert to android and run more of L3 options even if they are a little slower. Got a lot of money tied up in GS165’s on my bridge upgrading to Axion 16XL’s is not in the wallet right now. If you have a deal on refurbs 16XL’s I would be interested possibly.

      Yes. If your Raymarine VHF was made in the last several years and is connected to the SeaTalk NG or NMEA2000 network, Axiom will detect it and update it.

    I would love to connect directly to the marina wifi, but it has an IP address conflict, I have created a hotspot on my iPhone, but the cost of data is high for such large downloads, do you have a workaround apart from using the the SD card and do it on a pc at home, I would really like to network my Raymarine to use its other features.

      Hi Jonathan. Once you get the latest update installed the marina Wi-Fi address conflict issue may go away. Version 3.14, one version ago, changed the way the MFD's are addressed. You might need to get updated from a card programmed at home this time, but I think it will be easier for you going forward.

    I put a axiom 9 on my boat with a rv100 transducer and after about 3 weeks now of it working now it says sonar not detected what’s that about I did the current update and have a navionics card .. thanks

      Hello Austin. It sounds like your display has lost communication with the transducer. Power it down completely by unplugging the display or switching off the circuit Axiom is connected to. Please unplug and inspect the transducer connection. Make sure it is clean, the pins are shiny and undamaged, and re-seat the plug.
      If that does not correct the issue you might try a factory reset from Home....Settings....This Display....and scroll to the bottom.

    Hi jim .. I’m having a hard time downloading 3.15 from the website onto my Raymarine SD card .. a chart plotter installation wizard doesn’t pop up. I just see a bunch of iso files, boot folders and 1 zip file. When I double click the zip file - nothing happens. Is a glitch with Mac OS preventing this? Thanks

      You do need to unzip the files after you download them and place them in the root (top level) of your microSD card. Other than that, it should work all the same coming from Mac or PC.
      Our software downloads contain files not only for Axiom, but for all the peripherals too like the autopilot, radar, sonar modules, etc. The file in particular you need for the Axiom among all of them is called:
      ray_LH3_3_15_62_RMK_RVX1000_CPsounders.upgrade.iso
      You might pull just that file to your card and see if that gets you going.
      There is one file in the bunch that comes through as a Zip file, named Ray5x_6x_7x_v2.16.boot.zip. That is the bootloader code for the Raymarine VHF radios. That file doesn't need to be unzipped when its moved to the microSD card. Axiom knows how to open that one up if its needed to update a radio.

      Hello Luis. Tap the power button on your Axiom and a shortcut menu appears. There will be only 1 active button on it you can touch to unlock the touchscreen. That should get it back to normal.

      Hello Dane. Whenever possible we recommend sticking with one of the brand-name memory cards providers rather than the mystery-brand alternatives. SanDisk, Kingston, PNY, are all good choices. Size-wise Axiom will work cards up to 2 TB in size. The cards themselves use slightly different technology as they get larger, so Axiom will accommodate microSD, microSD HC and microSD XC cards.
      In addition to size, Axiom is sensitive to the format of the file structure on the card. You might need to re-format your card. We work with NTFS, FAT32 or exFAT formats. You can change the format by plugging the memory card into a PC or Mac and re-formatting it.
      For best performance, we also recommend using a Class-10 or higher ultra-high speed card.

    Thanks very much! I've upgraded to Axiom Pro 9 (helm), Axiom+ 9 (Nav Station), Autopilot T70155 kit. All works great. However, the Victron Cerbo GX would cycle (it turned off then turned on again) every time I turn the Autopilot ACU200 breaker on. Any ideas? Already have ferrites installed on the power lines and some communication cables. 🤨

      Hi Nat. The ACU-200 is a fairly heavy load item. If it is sharing a circuit or branch with the Victron unit, maybe the voltage level is dropping momentarily as the ACU kicks on. You might look at the gauge of the wires being used to feed that circuit to make sure you are not getting a significant voltage drop. Going to a heavier gauge power feed may help. Double check that the connections to all of this equipment are clean and tight. That can make items starve for power too. If all else fails it might be beneficial to get a qualified marine electrician onboard to take a close look at everything.

      This one installs a bit differently than other Raymarine software. You will need to connect a computer to the network, access the camera's built-in web server, and push the files to the camera through there. Our FLIR camera team can help you with this.

      Insert any microSD card with some empty space into your Axiom. That should allow the update to proceed.
      When Axiom updates it needs some extra space to hold the update, unpack the files, and shuffle some information around between the old and new software. Early Axiom models have a bit less built-in memory than the current Axiom+ generation have. Those models, when updating, will try to make use of the surplus space on whatever memory card is plugged into them. That can be your map card, or some other card. The overall size of the update file currently stands at about 1.3 GB, so the card needs to have at least that amount of space available.

      No, you don't need the previous older versions. You can directly move to the newest one.

      It is a rather large file, 1.7 GB in size. Future updates going forward should be smaller due to some changes we have made that go into effect with this release. If the connection is interrupted Axiom will pause for a short time to see if connectivity returns, otherwise the download will fail and you would need to start again.

    Hi Jim, I have an Axiom XL and have software version 3.12.217. I tried to update using the home wifi and it says there's an IP conflict. I then used the SD method and the new SD card isn't being read when I insert it into the card reader. The original issue was that the axiom isn't reading the original Navionics card ("Navionics card not found. Switching to Lighthouse charts") so I was advised to update the software. Going round in circles and would appreciate help - thanks

      Hello David. If the software update isn't being read from your card reader, aother way around it would be to place the update file on a USB stick. If you have the RCR-1 USB card reader with the USB port, you can plug it in there. Otherwise, there is a USB port on the back of Axiom XL and you can plug it in there. Axiom should see it and then prompt you to apply the update.
      In either case though do make sure that the software you downloaded has been unzipped on your computer before moving it over to the SD card or USB stick. Axiom can't recognize software if its still inside the Zip file.

      You can re-install an older software version by dowloading it to a MicroSD card and loading it through the card reader. Touch Home...Settings.....Software Update...Update from SD card. Axiom will confirm that you are downgrading the software version, and then proceed when you say yes.

      Hello Al. Being black, your MFD will absorb a lot of energy when it is out in the direct sun. All you can really do there is to try to shade it as best you can. Your MFD is engineered to keep working at pretty extreme temperatures. There is a big heat sink on the back of your MFD that prevents the electronics from overheating under most conditions. I suspect your MFD continues to work even if the front of it is hot to the touch.

    I'm having trouble updating from 3.12 to 3.15 on my axiom + , updated my rmk-10 successfully via sd card but when it starts updating on my unit itself, it just keeps rebooting without successfully completing. My unit does recognize the upgrade is there but doesn't even appear to start. any suggestions? I've tried 2 different sd cards thinking that was the problem to no avail. I can't connect via wifi since i haven't updated to 3.14 yet and I get the ip address conflict. I could email you a video of this problem.

      Hi Bob. Do double-check that it did indeed fail. I have seen before an Axiom report that its software update failed, but then by checking the version reported on the Settings screen, it did actually complete. That could be the case with yours. From your home screen touch Settings....and the software version is reported on the next screen.

      Hello Ed. If you downloaded the Axiom software from our website do make sure you unzip the file before placing it on your microSD card. Axiom won't recognize the update file if it is still zipped up.
      Axiom is not going to be able to update your ST70 instruments. They are an older generation of product that was discontinued before Axiom came on the market. They use a slightly different update protocol.
      They can be updated from pre-Axiom MFDs (a, c, e, eS, gS-Series, C-Series, E-Series, G-Series) or you could have a local Raymarine dealer or our service center update the software in them. If you can get access to one of those older MFDs, we do offer that software as a seperate download on Raymarine.com here:

      That page lists the full array of devices that can update ST70 instruments.

      If you go to Home...My Data...Files....check to see if Axiom can actually read/access the SD card you have plugged in. You'll see it listed there in the file browser as "External SD Card 1" and you should be able to touch it in the list and browse its contents. If Axiom can't see the card, it can't make use of it to copy update files to it.

    My axiom 9rv goes to black screen with a few tiny color lines upon supplying power. No touch response, nothing. I have used it twice. $1800 down the drain.

      Hi Joe. I would double-check that Axiom is getting the proper voltage at the end of its power cable. Unplug and check across the 2 largest sockets on the power cable to make sure you are getting 12-volts to the end of the cable. Normally that LED is red when the unit is turned off, and white when it is on. If the power looks good and it still won't turn on, there is a system reboot you could also try:
      1. Switch off power at the breaker to ensure that the MFD is completely powered off, and not in
      Standby mode. Alternatively, remove the power cable from the display.
      2. Power on your MFD, and within approximately 10 seconds, swipe your finger from right to left
      (opposite direction to powering on) across the Power button swipe area 5 times.
      Recovery options are displayed.
      3. Swipe your finger from right to left twice to highlight Wipe data/factory reset.
      4. Swipe your finger from left to right once to accept.
      5. Swipe your finger from right to left once to highlight Yes.
      6. Swipe your finger from left to right once to restore your MFD to factory default settings.
      7. When Data wipe complete is displayed, swipe your finger from left to right to restart your MFD.

      Your e9 is very similar to Axiom in that you can update it from the internet over Wi-Fi or you can download an update from Raymarine.com, transfer it to a card, and install it through the card reader.     Hi Jim, Anchoring Mode is a great Feature, but when selected, all Tracks in the database are displayed. How can i remove these Tracks?

      Hello Hagen. You can individually choose to show or hide your previously recorded track lines on the MFD. You can also delete any of them you are no longer interested in keeping. The best place to manage them is from the Track Manager. Its accessible from either the Home screen or through the Chart app, though I feel its better to look at them from the Chart app as it also allows you a preview of each track on the chart.
      In the Chart app touch Menu....Waypoints/Routes/Tracks...Tracks. The track manager shows all of the previously recorded tracks. Notice the last column next to each track, called Show/hide. This indicates whether or not this track is being shown on the chart, or hidden from view. Touch on any track name and you'll see the option on the bottom of the popup menu to either Show a track (that is hidden) or Hide a track (that is shown.)
      That popup also lets you change the track line color, rename it, delete it, or turn it into a route.

      @@RaymarineInc Thanks for your detailed explanation. I can „Show“ and „Hide“ Tracks in the Chart App, but when the Anchor App is selected, all Tracks (in „hide“) are shown. The Anchor App has no link to the Track manager to select „Show“ and „Hide“ i.e. of the anchoring track. If required, I can send Screenshots.
