as a non elite member with a delta reserve, I have been upgraded in every delta flight I've flown. Comfort + on LAX-DCA flights, and recently ICN-SEA-ONT, comfort + on ICN-SEA and first class on SEA-ONT. I know comfort + isn't much but I am basically getting silver medallion without even flying that much, with lounge access and the companion pass. I also got a retention offer of 90k miles for 4k spend 2 weeks ago. I had to keep it.
@@FirstHandLLC I fly out of BOS with this card. Depends a lot on where you're going. If you're going to another Delta hub, this won't make up for having lower status - you won't get an upgrade. But going to a smaller or less Delta-heavy airport, it may make up the difference if you're a Silver or lower.
I’m flying out of SFO tonight where Sebby lives and since it’s not a hub it was an easy Comfort+ upgrade for me as well. I think it would be tough if you were in ATL or JFK for example
@@SteveThawyou find the Delta flights you take to be competitively priced relative to alternative options? Feel like I'm always looking at Delta options out of Boston and that American is typically lower. Must be the destinations.

I can’t find another card that gives me this much value… not even close. We fly 3-5 times per year. Obviously Delta loyalists 😀
This was my first premium Credit Card, and I love it. I love the lounge access, the upgrades, and the especially the companion certificate. My wife and I just flew from Seattle to Washington D.C. first class round trip, which cost roughly $1100 all together. You can't beat that. I love the Sky Club and Centurion Lounge access too. Delta is my main airline, so this card just made sense.
✈️ I’m giving the Reserve a test run this year. I upgraded in January from the Delta Platinum. They gave me 40k points/$4k spend to upgrade so it was in a way cheaper to upgrade. Unfortunately, we haven’t flown much yet so few of benes have been used. The jury is still out for me but I think that I will like it and keep it.
✈️✈️✈️✈️ Sebby I have a Delta SkyMiles Platinum and 2 Reserve SkyMiles cards. One purple and one white limited edition. I also have an AMEX Platinum. I get positive value from all four. I plan personal trips on the 3 companion certificates and utilize my current Platinum Medallion status to get Comfort + seating at a minimum. Have utilized my RUCs on trips to Hawaii every year too. One thing I’ve not been successful at is getting a retention offer. I’m an 0 for! I can’t cancel any of them right now. I also have an Amex Green, Amex Gold and Amex Hilton Aspire cards. Yes lots of money in AFs out of pocket but I take full advantage of the credits as my wife and daughters all have AU status on most of the cards. The wife has her own Hilton Aspire so we plan trips using the free night reward. Like you and Mandy. I have learned a lot from your videos the last three years. I also have Chase Freedom Unlimited and Sapphire Preferred.
Interesting strategy, are these cards all personal or is it 2 business and 2 personal? This does give you automatic gold medallion doing it this way correct?
Tfs Sebby. I have the purple Reserve card & I like the weight of it. My biggest benefit is the Sky & Centurion lounge access, especially on both ends of my trips. It's great to get food, beverages, and a chance to recharge myself and my devices. I also have a Delta gold biz card & a personal one. I downgraded the latter from platinum & am contemplating upgrading the biz gold to biz platinum. Working toward maintaining my Delta Gold Medallion status for next year.
Have the business version of this card and love it. Also have the white limited edition that just showed up a few weeks back. I fly out of JFK and LaGuardia and somehow I get upgraded to Comfort+ about 95% of the time. Have not been upgraded to first class yet, but I don’t really expect that since I only hold Silver Medallion at the moment. But as a traveling/commercial photographer, the benefits and protections that come on this thing are amazing and I do not see myself canceling it anytime soon. I also own the AMEX Platinum, but that’s the personal version so we use this for all of my business flights and the Platinum for our personal flights.
✈️ I just got my new 747 card and I love it. But I totally missed the envelope to return my old card. I tried putting it in my paper shredder. Whoops! My first purchase on the card was a new shredder. I also have the AMEX platinum, so I’m wondering if having both makes sense. I only fly Delta but don’t live in an area with any Resy restaurants.
For me it makes sense to have a AMEX Platinum then Delta Reserve I work for a major US airline @LAX Airport I already get the flighting benefits. I'm more than for the Lounge Access for the food it saves me money and to relax before my flight also like Delta both are good cards but the credit makes sense to me
✈️ I really want to get this AmEx Delta Reserve card because I used to be a Delta flight attendant and I also worked at Boeing. Plus, the 747 was my favorite airplane to work on. But it just doesn’t make financial sense for me.
If I buy three main cabin seats next to each other and get offered an upgrade, is it just me getting an upgrade or all three of us? And if it’s just me, will the airline sit someone else in my old seat? Lol For example, I don’t want a stranger get seated with my parents and would rather refuse the upgrade in this case.
Can anyone answer this question. If 2 Delta diamond status fliers both buy a delta comfort ticket and theirs one seat available for an upgrade in 1st. How is it determined which of the 2 diamond members gets the upgrade? Who has held the status longer? Who’s a delta card holder? Who checked in 1st? Etc etc. Thanks
Currently have the Amex Platinum and the Delta Reserve (among others in the Amex lineup)... Undecided on which to keep, but I think the Reserve has a much better value proposition based on my preference to fly Delta whenever possible.
Great video as always ✈️. We have the delta platinum now. Do u think it’s worth it to upgrade to reserve? We fly delta probably 1-3 times a year. Thanks.
✈️ I'm trying to figure out what my ideal 5-card Amex setup would be further down the road. I'm thinking two Hilton Aspire cards, a Delta Reserve+Platinum for Automatic Silver, and then there's one wildcard slot that I haven't figured out yet. I'm pretty embedded in Hilton's ecosystem because I work for one, so IDK if a Marriott card would have that much value for me. Maybe the BBP for a free option to keep MR points if the Charge Cards can't be justified in keeping? But that's also foregoing a lot of superior options. Might even just keep it as an empty slot to churn theough Signup bonuses, but popup jail will be a frequent roadblock.
Amex platinum for all your travel benefits, Gold card for 4x on all your groceries and restaurants to stack points, BBP for your 2x on everything else. those are the only 3 you need that make sense. unless you wanna add a platinum business or delta one which you'll be paying a high annual fee on or just add one of the Hilton ones
I had the black one and now back to the purple. Didn't know about the white one!!! I love the heft of the purple one over the boeing one. Also the black one peeled off really easily after use 😢. Funniest thing though, at a date night when using the black one, the waiter thought I flew 10 million miles. 😊😊😊😊. I smiled and left her a good tip.

Im 21 and my dad already flies to mexico atleast 4 times a year and my mom flies to mexico twice a year, we are in chicago illinois and he flies in ohare where theres a delta skyclub. I would go with thtem to accumulate seat in miles for million miler status. do you think that would be worth it in the long haul? also thinking of flying to singapore round trip to reach that as well.
✈ 3. I didn't enjoy sitting next to a 500 lb guy in comfort+ 18 months ago, ATL to LAS. It was during the Christmas madness with NE storms, so my only other choice was to wait 3 days without my luggage.
The angst I have with the Delta Reserve is I’m not earning miles as fast as the Delta Platinum. And the spend to make platinum medallion again in 2025 is so high for average folks like me.
I have Platinum and Bus. Reserve White. Cool card with stats on it. Everywhere I go the Plat. stops the no’s. My issue is the useless referral program when new card members get more points than a referral. I feel disenchanted by this dynamic.
I downgraded from the reserve to the platinum due to the earnings. After watching your video I want to upgrade back to the reserve. I prefer the black one.
If you keep the same card number, Amex does not deactivate the old one… the card details for the black one is still in my iCloud Keychain (so it gets used for online shopping), but to keep the black one pretty, I carry the purple one in my wallet. And also, I’m away from home for a few more days, so the white one is waiting for me at the post office 😊
Why didn’t you mention the key benefit to the platinum, 5x points (delta miles) on flights vs 3x reserve? If you spend 10k a year on flights that’s a $200 difference
I want the design layout of the white card, but I generally prefer black. I’m not a fan of the purple design personally, but I know a lot of people like it ✈️
I didn’t open my white one yet, but the black one is noticeably lighter than the purple one (which feels about the same as my CSR and Amex Platinum). It’s because the aircraft is made from Aluminum, instead of whatever metal they normally use (I’m assuming steel).
Does linking a card to Resy prevent you from linking it to another dining portal (like AA dining)? If so, the opportunity cost needs to be considered. I get 5 AA miles back per dollar on dining through the AA dining portal, in addition to the 4 points per dollar I get on my Amex gold.
I don't think so. I tried this with my Delta Platinum and got 2x miles but no credit as of yet. We'll see if that changes - may take time to process, but it did show up as "Uber Eats" vs. just Uber.
question for you, if i’m flying with someone else and I am the one who holds a reserve card and pays for the tickets, say I bought a regular main cabin ticket but got upgraded because of the card, does that apply to both me and the other person I’m traveling with? or only I would get the upgrade?

🛩✈️🛫 I prefer Amex Platinum over this one for 3 reasons. I feel I can get more value out of Amex Platinum with the Amex offers & card benefits (Clear, FHR, etc.). I fly United - happy with them, their prices, app, and award space (redemption rates) w/ United Club Card. With lounge access, I can get my family in United Clubs when we travel together; can't do that w/ Delta cards. Delta lounges are so nice (great food, environment, and relaxing); better than United Clubs. Unfortunately, Delta rewards program isn't great and flights are a bit pricey (and less options than United where I fly).
Hey Sebby! I recently just got the Delta Reserve based off of your recommendations and have been really liking the new 747 design. As someone who also lives in the Bay Area, I wanted to ask you on your experiences with upgrade lists for Delta flying out of SFO - Did you get upgraded quite frequently without Delta status and solely off of the Reserve card, or was it more so status?
ty sebby. im about to apply for the delta amex reserve. your thoughts on the business vs personal card? running the numbers, i feel like having both (double dipping on the mqd), is financially a good decision. maybe even adding the delta platinum card for more mqd might be worth the AF as well. but do you have a preference, business or personal reserve?
I don’t even need this one at all.. the card just looks cool as hell lol I cannot justify getting it with an Amex plat already …. BUT if I were to get one or similar , would there be a hard pull 🤔
✈️ I wish I flew Delta more. But they are usually are either more expensive or not a direct flight from our airport. But anytime I flew them in the past I really loved it. Unless I move or delta start to become a hub at PDX, I will still to Alaska and American.
Besides the credits, the international companion ticket may be a game changer. Is this the only Delta card with the international companion ticket? The purple and the white are special.
✈️ Nice video - thanks! Fly United and not Delta much. But Delta lounges are awesome (better food than United 😔). Thus, would stick with the Amex Platinum.
✈️🛩️ I’m also out of SFO and about to demo DL silver by having 2 cards. I could make a play for gold if I open a 3rd card but usually United is more convenient for me. That said you’ve commented o ok n how rare upgrades for United are here, does that make getting lower level United status not worth it? I could match over from AA plat to United silver but even the status challenge would have a lot more spend than I could easily do…
Any benefits with this card when flying from say lax to Dublin during fall/winter when it’s basically almost empty? Can you be upgraded to business/first? And if so , do your companion and yourself get upgraded or just I?
✈️ do you and Mandy still plan on making AA your top airline this year because of the changed meta? I’ve considered it, but the arbitrary delays and the reasons associated with it don’t seem to be worth the squeeze.
Wife got a email today from Delta. It says Something Big is landing on 7/22 for Delta. And it has a timer doing a count down Is there card rumors connected to this?
Has anyone applied for Delta Reserve at the airport or on the plane? If approved, do you get same day lounge access, or do you have to wait for the cars to arrive in snail mail?
I got the card for purchasing my tickets to Laos. But then when I got the card, delta raised the price and I ended up book it thru Korean air instead 😅 failed but I still like the card but we’ll see on the second year lol
Great video as always. ✈️ I like the black version of the reserve the most. I def would pick this over the American Express platinum especially since I’m an AU on my moms and don’t have to pay the annual fee. I’d use the credits for sure. Resy doesn’t seem too bad. I use Uber a lot as I live in the city and the companion credit would work nicely for me to take my cousin places with me.
Just keep on the lookout for an upgrade offer, especially if your renewal is soonish where you can get the better companion cert without paying 2 full annual fees
I wish they could expand ride share to public transit. As a NYer, sometimes I just go without taking any cars in a month. Now I have to worry about the $10 from delta plat and $10 from delta reserve. Or at least combine the credits for people holding both cards…
✈️Hey Sebby. Since you mentioned Ink cards, I had a question. I have two Ink Cash cards but I’m overdue for a bonus, and I’m going to be at 4/24 soon. If I go for the new Ink Cash offer, should I product change the two that I have to an Ink Unlimited, or should I close one (or both) of them? Trying to set myself up for success. Thanks for all your help over the years.
The only Amex card I've ever canceled and I didn't even have to pay an annual fee for it. If you live in the US and are married or have a steady travel partner, I can see the value. But that's the only saving grace. I can't imagine having the card for longer than the first year if you have to pay the annual fee.
If I dump any card this year it’s probably going to be the Platinum. The Reserve is low key undervalued when you take into account the companion fare and the likelihood (at least in my experience) of being upgraded. I just flew to LAX and was upgraded both ways, and this happens often. Add the other random credits in (which I do mostly use each month) and this card is a winner IMO.

Nice , does that $650 AF includes 1 AU ? Or is that extra $ like chase CSR ? Also which feels heavier the purple delta or white one ? lol :D
Delta Plat gets a main cabin companion cert
✈️ Nice video - thanks! Fly United and not Delta much. But Delta lounges are awesome (better food than United 😔). Thus, would stick with the Amex Platinum.
✈️🛩️ I’m also out of SFO and about to demo DL silver by having 2 cards. I could make a play for gold if I open a 3rd card but usually United is more convenient for me. That said you’ve commented o ok n how rare upgrades for United are here, does that make getting lower level United status not worth it? I could match over from AA plat to United silver but even the status challenge would have a lot more spend than I could easily do…
im going to see if uber one membership triggers the credit... Has anyone tried it ?
Any benefits with this card when flying from say lax to Dublin during fall/winter when it’s basically almost empty? Can you be upgraded to business/first? And if so , do your companion and yourself get upgraded or just I?
✈️ do you and Mandy still plan on making AA your top airline this year because of the changed meta? I’ve considered it, but the arbitrary delays and the reasons associated with it don’t seem to be worth the squeeze.
It’s no longer we only got 5 passes with delta reserve
Wife got a email today from Delta.
It says Something Big is landing on 7/22 for Delta. And it has a timer doing a count down
Is there card rumors connected to this?
Has anyone applied for Delta Reserve at the airport or on the plane? If approved, do you get same day lounge access, or do you have to wait for the cars to arrive in snail mail?
Lounge access depends upon the ticket you book…Not all Delta Amex reserve card holder can get access to the lounge…
does Resy work for pickup orders or delivery orders from a restaurant listed on there?
The order has to be billed directly from the restaurant and not a third party app.
@@AskSebby cool. not many restaurants on resy in my area but there is a pizza place I could visit once in awhile and do pickup
Nice chris reeve knife. I’m still on the wait list for large sebenza
Does it work for uber eats ?
Yes
I got the card for purchasing my tickets to Laos. But then when I got the card, delta raised the price and I ended up book it thru Korean air instead 😅 failed but I still like the card but we’ll see on the second year lol
Let me guess... Your parents are in Vallejo (??)
Great video as always. ✈️
I like the black version of the reserve the most.
There's probably a lot of 737 max planes to scrap for this card as well…
Some of it even comes partially pre_cut....too soon?
Actually Delta didn't buy into the max version of the 737 and are switching to Airbus mostly
If i could i would get this card just for the design but sadly i cannot, my credit profile not beefy enough 😭
✈️ this card looks super cool! Personally sticking with platinum because it makes sense for me but this one is really nice!
Just keep on the lookout for an upgrade offer, especially if your renewal is soonish where you can get the better companion cert without paying 2 full annual fees
I'll keep the my Platinum
Just make sure to highlight the Delta AMEX platinum is better than either one
Does Delta card's $10 monthly rideshare credit works at Uber Eats? I tried once. It was not working.
Try asking for a manual adjustment.
Every month though? That's a pita
How do you use the ridshare credits for Uber eats?
Love your content👍🏽
Anthony Ventura did similar video with DELTA TRIFECTA!!!
I'll have to check it out!
Interesting to see 👀what KING SEBBY 🗣Says....👂👂
🙌
I could care less what my card is made of. I’d rather use it though a mobile wallet anyhow.
LETS GO SEBBBBBB 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Just grabbed this card over the platinum
If I dump any card this year it’s probably going to be the Platinum. The Reserve is low key undervalued when you take into account the companion fare and the likelihood (at least in my experience) of being upgraded. I just flew to LAX and was upgraded both ways, and this happens often. Add the other random credits in (which I do mostly use each month) and this card is a winner IMO.
I love mine
🙌
OMG Sebby is having a baby! 🤰
The answer is yes. Delta Reserve credits are easier to use.
Yup, especially if Delta is your airline of choice.
✈️ 🤙
I’d be interested if it was made from a decommissioned airbus plane not that reached Boeing 🤣 #malaysianairlines370 #doorfallsoff
