- Washington State took back the Apple Cup with a 24-19 win over Washington on Sept. 14, 2024 at Lumen Field. The Cougs were led again by QB John Mateer who totaled 307 yards of offense and 3 TDs, including 62 rushing yards and 2 scores on the ground. Josh Meredith caught 7 passes for 111 yards and a score. Cougars' defense came up strong with a huge 4th & goal stop late in the 4th quarter.

Good game, huskies stunk it up, better team but played without discipline. More facemasking penalties in one game than all of last year. If the huskies did not give up 100 yards in penalties not 160+ the outcome would be different. The 4th down option was cutting edge for a pop warner first year team. Way to go.

We lost because of countless amounts of stupid penalties. From the personal fouls to the simple offsides calls that allowed the Cougars to run out the clock.
And that 4th and goal play call was one of the worst play calls I've ever seen from Washington
Huskies and Cougars have one thing in common - they both applied to UW 😂. Enjoy the win!
A sore loser is someone who gets very upset when they don't win. They sulk and act angry when they don't come out on top, which ends up ruining the fun for everyone else. Sore losers blame external factors for their losses, even if someone else beat them fair and square.
We Cougs were lucky. We got our first choice.
