It stills amazes me that Charles went on the run he did. After his featherweight stint, I never thought he'd touch the title.
Its a similar run to Robbie Lawler. Back in 2012-13, many thought he'd still be a journeyman who'd never touch a title in any major promotion. But he was able to turn it around and become one of the elite of the elite.

For all of you non-portuguese speakers: The translator made an incredibly cute mistake and said "Some people are saying the boy has a dog that looks like the dog you own" because she doesn't know what "have that dog in you" means. I love her.
Cute is the perfect way to describe it.

It's hilarious to mee seeing people underestimate him after his last loss. He's still young and dangerous.
I learned my lesson after the Dustin fight. Dude is a monster and win or lose I'll never doubt he can get it done.
I wouldn't say Charles' is young (he's 33 after all), but I do agree that yes he is still dangerous and he can definitely beat Beneil. However there now exists a blueprint of sorts to beat Charles that many believed did not exist a year ago.

@@heatseeker6104 That is true yes, but Beneil is a smart and crafty fighter who has very heavy hands. If he stands in front of Charles like what Mike, Dustin and Justin did trying to brawl that'll be his undoing but if he uses footwork and counter-punching he can nail Charles as he's crashing forward. Charles' lack of striking defense is an Achilles heel.
Also if Beneil drops Charles, Charles will be in trouble because Benny has elite-tier grappling and won't be afraid to go the ground with him.
Oliveria is a straight up warrior. The title never changed him. Same dude before, during, & after the belt.
He beat my favorite fighter and became one of my favorites in the process. Dude is a nasty. Insanely crisp striking and cuts through monsters like butter with his bjj.
Olivera, glad to see you my man. My son is 14 has been wrestling in school a couple years and training MMA about a year now. He and I have all the respect and love for you. All the best my man from the both of us.
Man Charles will always have my respect no matter what, he really entertained all of us with his spectacular fighting style and performances. I look forward to seeing him fight Dariush, that will be a fun one for sure.

80% is a stretch. She got confused with Islam and Alex V. names and ended up asking about being impressed by Islam's ground game when it was supposed to be Alex's but that was the only part she got wrong.

@@MisterK-YT 2 examples are when Ariel asked about what Charles thought of Volk's performance she asked what Charles thought about Islam's performance, when Ariel asked if Charles thought Volk should get an immediate rematch she just asked Charles if he thought whoever was on top of the 155lb division should get the title shot, and many other mistakes. It was really really bad unfortunately, a total disrespect to Charles.

@@oleg3913 I been In the worst pain all week. I already missed 4 days and I have an ultrasound and x ray next week. I gave the Clinic Dr my symptoms and she me 2 prescriptions. They told me they won't know 100% what's wrong until I have ultrasound of my kidneys. Hey Google the prescriptions and they're both prescribed for kidney stones. My question is if you could please let me know how long were you in pain for with a kidney stone? You don't have to answer me I'm just over this right now it's been 5 days of hell.

Only great thing Abt this interview was that we got to see more of Charles' humble character n Luciana's great work as interpreter. Ariel's questions were more rhetoric, repetitive, redundant n negative in bringing up the past. Almost as if he had nothing much positive or constructive to ask. Felt sorry for Charles for having to answer it.
Huge Charles fan here but I feel Ariel did it because Charles wasn't giving him much on the future predictions in the beginning. Like I think he can kill Islam in the rematch but after watching this closely I still have no idea what he answered about the rematch (and I understand some Brazilian) where it should be a pretty clear answer...
And his eyes light up at some of the later questions, so although he's generally an a**hole you can't blame Ariel for talking more about that than the actual business of fighting...

If Helwani actually cared about MMA he'd ask him some technical questions too. Ask him if he's working on his distance. He stands WAY too close. Every close call he's had in theast couple of years has been due to that one flaw. His loss to Makachev was due to that as well. He got hurt a couple of times in that fight. The last time was bad and he got subbed.

No, interpreting is a specific skill, it's not something that anyone who can speak a different language can do. Ariel should know that and be respectful to the fighters by hiring proper help.

They asked Mackenzie Dern to translate before asking Luciana, but she said her English wasn't up-to-snuff yet.

The translator didn't understand the context of several questions and mistranslated for Charles when Ariel asked about Connor, Islam and Volkanovski at the beginning. That's why the answers were kind of weird sometimes. I didn't watch the rest
