Honest, this theme is one of the best themes ever, and a perfect resemblance of the 8-bit era. And Rivals of Aether surely have awesome mechanic gameplay and Soundtrack too. ;)
This sounds like the type of music that would play in a game where you've just beaten it and your going back through all the levels seeing all your progress.
This theme is amazing. It's like its representing the game itself. The theme goes up and down like your jumping onto the next platform, on top of continuing to let the pitch rise higher and higher, as if your climbing a huge tower. Then it settles, like your at the top, looking out in the distance as you see a golden sky and clouds hovering beneath your feet. Then it falls, like you, back to the beginning, where you can restart your adventure.
God, this takes me back.. used to follow the composer back on Livestream and deviantart, they had a flash-based jukebox of their works that they hosted off their own site. Were an artist too, and even got a little in-stream request of one of my silly little characters that I have to this day. Thanks for the memories, flashy, I hope whatever you're up to, you're doin well.
Games like Cave Story, Tower of Heaven, La Mulana, Noitu Love, etc. were pretty much what pulled me away from just gaming on emulators in the late 2000s, so I have a very strong nostalgia from that time period even though I wasn't really a kid by then. Tracks like this one just reawaken the kid in me.
