Sometimes Charles’ delays in writing down an answer pay off. “ Because he always has a point” was very clever and too deep for the room.
When he delays in writing down an answers, he's cheating.
(I didn't know that till several people on here seen it, and realized that's why he was saying he had the correct answer)

This time the game went to a tie-breaker, but our champion easily secures her fifth victory, thanks to Orson's "Mugged" teddy bear. (I couldn't help but laugh when the camera panned through the remaining answers, and Fannie revealed "Molested" - the look on her face was priceless.)

Quick recap: Our champion chose Richard for her first H/H and matched. Then, in a bit of a surprise, she chose Charles for her second H/H and matched again! For her third go, she reverted to Richard, but they failed to match. Her fourth trip to the Super-Match was cut short when the answer she selected wasn't on the audience match board. And now, for her fifth Super-Match, who will she choose for the head-to-head? I'm leaning toward Richard, as she took his suggestion today (with a good result).

Richard of course has an easier time than I did, since he doesn't have to think back 46 years to come up with his answer. He files his card swiftly and confidently.

@@joanrosseel5111 aww I must have missed that show. The things Brett has said about how he treated her makes me think she was better off without him. He seems to have the same grouchy personality as his character on the odd couple. I couldn't live with that. I love Brett. She seems lonely. She's not herself .

Since the five-show panel spilled over into another week due to Thanksgiving, and the subsequent panel was only five days also, does that mean subsequently, as aired, there were mid-week panel changes for weeks on end?
Probably until Christmas. CBS traditionally had NBA and the Blue Grey Game on Christmas Day. If Christmas was in the middle of the week, they would usually follow up the next day with a bowl game.
I don’t think the five episode taping always aired in the same week. Seems it happened maybe half of the time?
The MG "week" frequently didn't correspond to a Monday-Friday calendar week due to preemptions, holidays, etc. That's why at the close of a week, Gene has a habit of saying something like, "Next time, these are the faces you'll see..." (Because next time wasn't always on Monday.)

That's weird the first end of the week show where they don't tell the next panel
it's possible that MG aired the day after thanksgiving..that should, theoretically, throw episode numbers off..but when ''Dark Shadows'' was running, scheduled pre-emption dates were given the next episode number in sequence..MG may have been the same..dunno....
Dark Shadows was on ABC, while Match Game was on CBS.
Because the panelist were on for 5 days and this is only the 3 day. These episodes aired November 21-23; 28-29, 1977, looks like Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving threw the schedule of from Monday thou Friday, which they appeared how been on before this week.
This isn't the end of the week. This is episode 1103. The same celebs will return for two more shows. A MG "week" is five episodes with the same panelists. This week runs from episodes 1101-1105. At the end of 1105, Gene will show us who we'll see in the coming "week" of five programs.

Brett drives me crazy. She'll say anything to get on camera! She pretends she doesn't understand nearly every question.
yea, Brett can be annoying..people spend a lot of time trashing Brett, but the only difference between Brett and certain other ''celebrities'' who have their way of grabbing camera time might be intensity..regulars and week-long celebs have the habit of going into their routine(s) BEFORE they give their answers - pretty much forcing us to listen to whatever they have to say..Bob Barker really surprised me: there's an arrogance about him i never realized b4..Brett ain't the only one: she's just more boisterous than others...
I can see why people think that, but I believe she was just having SUCH a great time. She loved her job. She loved Gene and Charles. She was just a talkative person. She probably also had quite a fan following in the audience, so she was probably playing up for them. She just seemed to be a fun person in real life.
If you ask me, Brett and Charles are the life of the party. Richard is the best matcher, and I love Fanny. They're all great. I have no complaints.
It gets old - she is some kind of attention whore - she is definitely the weak spot on the panel
