Is 1.1 Really The BEST Draft Position In 2023?? - 12-Team Fantasy Football Half PPR Mock Draft

- Brenden Schaeffer runs a fantasy football mock draft (Half PPR) from the 1.1 draft position to determine whether the slot is really all it's cracked up to be. Beyond the benefit of getting to choose the best player available in fantasy football at the beginning, is the 1.1 really the Holy Grail in 2023?

Yes plz! Awesome info!! A 12 team half point ppr with 1 flex would be great!
I'll do it next! Which draft position should I play from? You can choose it!
@@bschaefferFFB1.1
I followed this strategy yesterday with 0 research as the #1 pick in a 10 man league and ended up #1 in final standing projections. Projections don't win games, but atleast I'm off to a solid start. Thanks Brenden.
Let's gooooo! Love to see it
yeah I ended up taking CMC at the one spot because I didn't want to reach for a RB later. My draft went a lot smoother.
Half ppr 12 man would you start Barkley or Kupp? Have a pretty good idea of who's going before me talking to others. Round 2 I'm looking at JT, Pollard, Jacobs, Amon ra, Garrett Wilson usually. With that in mind do you go RB WR, WR RB, or RB RB
Kupp for me over Barkley. I know he's aging but I think he's still a monster if healthy. You also need to be comfortable with Staffords health though. Half ppr I think I'd lean Pollard or JT round two assuming you go Kupp round one. Would be tempted to go Kupp ARSB but I also think that's maybe a better plan for full PPR.
@@bschaefferFFB that's what I've been doing in mocks Kupp/Pollard then best available in 3rd and grabbing someone like Fields Herbert or Lawrence 4th or 5th depending on if I think I can wait till the 5th or not
This is a great video.
In my league, I see no RB's available in the 6th and 7th round.
I have the number 1 pick...1/point PPR. Played with same guys for 30 years.
If I take Jefferson, I am forced to go zero RB. I thought about Chase, and stalking him with Burrow, but these guys likely won't let it happen, and Burrow in the 3rd is a bit much? If I wait until round 4 for a QB, I think the top 8 QB's will be gone.
If I go McCaffrey at 1, then what? Waddle and Olave as my two WR's. We use 6-point TD pass scoring.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the compliment, Scott, hope to subscribe to see my future content... It's hard to build a channel from scratch haha
Okay, this is interesting. Let me list some RBs I like later on: James Cook, Javonte Williams, David Montgomery, Zach Charbonnet and even Antonio Gibson are targets of mine for PPR. I tend to stay away from the Dobbins-Akers-Sanders-Conner tier and attack that next group I mentioned instead in rounds 6-9.
You mentioning 6 point passing TDs is interesting. While running QBs are still a huge advantage, guys like Trevor Lawrence and Justin Herbert who could throw tons of TDs but don't run for quite as many yards are actually really intriguing values to me in that format. You may have to reach into round 4 or 5 to ensure you get one of them. But if you miss out, I like guys like Tua and Dak later on for 6pt pass TDs. Because those offenses, ESPECIALLY Dallas now that Zeke is gone, are likely to throw for TDs in the red zone instead of running. Dak is maybe the best value in 6pt pass tds for that reason. Pollard didn't have a ton of goal line success and the backups there aren't goal line backs either.
In my 10 man league we drew from a hat to pick our slot and I got first pick and picked 5. McCaffrey and Eckler went 1-2 which surprised me but fed into my strategy of zero RB. I got Tyreek Hill first round, Josh Allen second round, Mark Andrews third round and Calvin Ridley fourth, Debo Samuel fifth and DJ Moore sixth and Brandon Aiyuk 7th. Then I drafted a whole bunch of RBs with a WR thrown in there and I'm pretty happy with my build.
I would love to hear the names of the “bunch of rbs” that you drafted….
@@ryansunden2032 Javonte Williams, Isiah Pacheco, David Montgomery, Khalil Herbert. I drafted Damien Harris and Rashaad Penny but dropped them and picked up Jaylen Warren and Tank Bigsby.
in all the mocks i’ve done i’ve gotten the best squads from the 4 or 5 spot taking tyreek hill cooper kupp or Bijan
I think there's some merit to that. Sometimes it's nice being closer to the middle of the round so you never have a long wait
See I’m drafting 1.1 but I’m taking hurts and Andrews 2nd and 3rd pick in my mocks. Or hurts and pollard if they’re available.
All reasonable targets there!
I got 2 but would rather have 7-10 can stack better lineup
I got Kelce at 5 and now I have Lamar Aj brown K9 Mixon DJ moore Elliott Kicker eagles D fense Mike Williams or Kirk at flex
See you ended up with a robust roster despite going early TE I love it.
I have the 1.2 in a 2 QB league i have to go Mahommes right?
If he's still there, easily. He'd be my 1.1
If Olave was there instead of Smith would you have taken him??
yes
Which mock simulator is this?
Sleeper!
Is it such a mistake to take CMC with the 1st pick? Nobody on youtube is drafting him 1.01
I really don't think it's a mistake. I'm just a big fan in PPR of the two WRs at the top. In half PPR it's even a closer call. CMC should smash, but RBs have higher injury risk inherently
Please do a 1 flex ten team full ppr
Sure!
Jefferson
Chase
Mcaffery
Who should I take #1 pick
Probably Jefferson but all are honestly good options
JJ All Day!🏈💰
I have it! And it isn’t as valuable as the past years … 2/3 turn risky! If everyone in your league is good.
Darn right; who you taking at the top though?!
@@bschaefferFFB I’m def going jj though I think chase will out do him and tyreek is the dark horse if tua plays all games … but with the one it can’t get safer than Jetta!
