We have been making this dish in my family for the last 45 years and called them just 'pinwheels'. We grate the potatoes with the fine grater and dont add so many spices. The colour of the potato layer should be golden red, not black/brown. Never knew these are pinwheel samosas! BTW, the consistency of the dough and potatoes should be as similar as possible, otherwise the 'feeling' will come out of the roll and aap kahenge ki 'aap ne bataya nahi'. (Tongue firmly in cheek)
My mother has been making this forever with exact same recipe which is samosa style dough and samosa style spicy potato filling. We called them samosa rolls. It is wrong to give credit for this recipe to Chef Vineet. I am your big fan but this time your story about the origin of a recipe is wrong

In Maharashtra we call this "Bakarwadi" very tasty and if filling is dry then we can store this for month
