Gear I use:
Guitar: changes by the video. i use a lot of fender, and gibson. but feel free to ask specifics.
Pickups: all of my guitars use different pickups depending on what suits them but i will say Bare Knuckle Pickups are my favorite and preferred brand. feel free to ask specifics
Amps: Fractal AxeFX 2 for the guitar tone on my covers, lessons, and original music . i almost always use Soldano SLO100 presets but sometimes some Friedman, Orange and others sneak in.. i dont typically use real amps anymore. certainly not in my videos just for convenience.
Strings: 9-46 are my main string gauge for fenders. i'll use 10-52 on Gibsons typically. i tend to flip flop between Ernie Ball and D'addario.
Picks: i tend to use .88mm Tortex but i'll use .60mm for faster strumming songs or for Bass guitar.
DAW: Reaper for all my recording software.
When this song first came out I listened to it straight for 8 hours. It was a great day

I dont get it
Gunkanjima instead of tuning his strings up a whole step, he put a capo on the five strings so that he didn’t have to tune them. If you don’t know what a capo is, it’s a clip that you put on your fret board that basically moves the neck bridge down, making the notes change.

This is so good! I think I prefer to listen to this over the studio recorded version just because you can really hear the guitar and that’s like my favorite part
If anyone's watching this in 2024, just tune to drop D and capo normally on the 2nd fret. Tone is spot-on, playing is great, but 5 string capoing is just asking for problems, especially if you're playing live. It's not too hard to bar 3 strings for those I-V-VIII power chords for the outro chorus either.

how do you get the tone to sound like that I play on my normal amp' with a fender squire stratocaster on standard e tuning and with my capo on the second fret and it doesn't sound like that how do you make it sound like the tone from the song
He has an axe fx which gives him any tone he wants
This song is played in Drop D isn’t it? (With Capo on fret 2 obvs)
It's a weird set up, the capo isn't on the low E at all just a through high e
You can play it both ways and it'll sound correct either way.

I don't understand the point of the capo. I play this song in E standard and it's the same thing
a lot of the chords have the d string open. and with the capo on it rings out an extra "E" note. makes the chords sound fuller. tom did it a lot around that time.

Pewwe Sparkles well yeah now Tom is horrible live but back in his prime he was pretty good for his own skill set. Jon’s super tight cause he’s a better all around player, was never saying that jon was a horrible player or that Tom is the greatest

is the E string down tuned with a capo on the second fret or does the capo just not cover the E string
you can do it either way. i prefer to just leave it in standard and not cover the low e string
