I get so anxious going out in the world. But because you do it ALL, despite what you call your social anxiety, I have been doing more. I even treat myself to Starbucks now every week- yeah, I do the drive-thru and I get there first in line at 5:30am, but I do it! You amaze me, and I think you are just a queen. Thanks for being you, and such a spectacular mother.

@@Jenny-bz1uc It's sad it really is. But what happens to the puppy when him and his sister go back to live with his mom? It happens and then what? The puppy gets a home with Daugherty family? Don't you think she has enough to look after? And what about the long term effect on him? Oh I had a puppy for a few weeks or months? A puppy isn't short term. Critical thinking. You need to think beyond your feelings in a sad situation that the foster kids are in.
Hi Alicia! My granddaughter Abbie and I maked and baked the pumpkin chocolate chip bread. Now I see why it's your children's favorite breakfast. Abbie ate a whole loaf I do believe and I shared with my neighbors the bread. Everyone loved it. We made 3 loaves of it.
Everyone has asked me to make it again. So I will make it again in August. Well probably once a month. Tyvm for sharing your recipe. It's my favorite bread now. I need to get one more loaf pan. Bc I only have 2. I really enjoy making and baking it and of course eating it.

Hi Alicia, what works for me, but may not necessarily work for you is keeping small plastic bags in the van and let the children pick up the trash themselves or put it in there rather than the ground.
It takes a few tries, but the kiddies learn quickly and soon start asking for the bag when they have trash.
Fosters good habits too

The so crazy kids leave in is the best stuff I’ve ever used in my daughters hair. Its thick curly lucious beautiful, you get the deal. This would be great for Zoe’s hair.

I know right! My parents didn’t have a bunch of money when I was younger and they would usually buy my sister all the stuff she wanted (she was the favorite if I’m being honest) and then when me and my brother asked for anything they said they couldn’t afford it. Since we didn’t have a lot of food and my parents were working a lot (I also couldn’t cook) I was hungry most of the time. My parents would always complain how I was so skinny though-
I’m so excited to hear there will be a lot of back to school prep videos! lol especially since these videos help my anxiety and depression a lot and I’ll be extra anxious and depressed because of the financial stresses of having to prep for school while poor.

I have learnt to really appreciate large families from watching this channel. You always have someone to reach out to. What stands out to me is the love the kids develop for each other too. Alicia is legit the best Mum. Sometimes the littlest thing is what matters the most. Like buying their favourite hair care product. Some big families would just go to Costco and buy a bulk shampoo & conditioner. Nope, not here, each child’s preference is taken into account. Small things add up and soon it instils a sense of belonging to a child. 🫶🏻

Love the text about getting a puppy. I grew up with five siblings and anytime anyone of asked if we could get a pet, my mother’s response was “six kids enough to take care.”
I always check the dates too and get the latest to expire. Quick tip **check the milks behind the front milks those are the newest ones they've just stocked and the expiration dates are the longest -
I love your shopping hauls and all the thought put in them. By getting foods that the kids love. As a foster parent I understand how important it is that a child knows they are thought about and there is always food available that they like and can eat.
What thought does she put into them? Seriously she just sees something and grabs it. Especially if it’s processed, sugary or empty calories. I bet their house is full of fart smells. You can’t eat like that and have good gut health.
Oh, my brother-in-law installed a water fountain in his downstairs by the kitchen. It's the kind you can also fill your water bottle up and it's really good filtered water. It even tells you how many water bottles you saved by filling up your own water bottle instead. Just an idea for you since you have so many kids and cups used each week.
I think they have issues with their water supply at the moment and that’s why they buy bottled water and cups and plates etc. They have to ration water. She even goes to the laundry mat because she can’t use the washers at home. I think sometimes it seems wasteful, but I don’t think they have an option at the moment.
Septic tanks deal with waste water, not water coming INTO the house. So a water dispenser would definitely be a much, much less wasteful and less expensive option. And completely viable. I cringe when I see the case after case of bottled water every week. I know I will be crucified for this comment, but I can handle it.

@@DoughertyDozen you don't need to be connected... The fountain uses big plastic bottles, they are those fountains we use in offices or some public places... you just buy those Big bottles and have them delivered 😀
It will still reduce a great deal your plastic consomption ❤️

Im genuinely so excited for a back to school shopping vlog. Im in grad school and the most I have to buy is loose leaf paper, and I miss shopping for folders and cool markers. it’ll be nice to watch that, especially since kids have the coolest supplies nowadays😂

Have you and the kids ever tried Honeys Crisp apples? They are sweet but a little tart (like Granny Smith). They are harder than red apples but not as hard as green apples. They are amazing baked in apple crisp and pies but also delicious for eating a snack.

U should shop Bulk Stores for paper plates, cups, and Windex and even Toilet Paper , Paper Towel and Aluminum foil...Buying in Buk saves you money in the Long Run :)
Alicia, try Norwex cleaning rags! I've been using them on all my windows and mirrors for years. All you need is water. No more windex and paper towels! Love mine!

It's a nice store. I shopped there all there all the time.
Once after a long summer of taking kids back and forth to camps and road trips, I grabbed the leaf blower and just blew everything from the side door out the back of the van and then swept it into a pile. Took 5 minutes!~ then I could vacuum.

I realize I’ll probably get bashed for this, but here it goes. Is there a way that you can bulk shop?. There is Costco(they can do your shopping, too, as well as some Fred Meyers), Azure(on line company. You order and pick up the food on pick up days. They have organic and healthy sourced options. We have a nearby Business Costco that sells items in a #10 can. Saves on opening so many and the cost is so much less. It would save you so much time and money. Buying in bulk option of flour, sugar, oats, etc. you can order some food safe buckets to store that flour, etc..)I’ve watched your videos and your family goes through a lot of these each week. I’ve been watching several UA-camrs that do bulk shopping, from This Momma’s House, Acre Homestead, Raising Birches, etc. they offer healthy organizational options to shopping, cooking, bulk cooking, home care, etc. I realize everyone has their own style and what types of food are considered “their okay foods”. I won’t even go there. But you could really reduce your shopping time and money by doing this. I was raised by a single mom with 7 kids. So I get it. There wasn’t organic foods back then or I wasn’t aware of it. I did have a kid with cancer, so I’m more careful than some when it comes to processed things with artificial dyes and trying to get as much time out of the day while working swing shift at 10 hrs a day. Okay, everyone, please don’t bash on me, just a thought at trying to help another mom out. You all do you…I’ll do me.
Advice for Bre’s hair! Wet her hair before she goes in the pool so that it soaks up fresh water first instead of chlorine! This also prevents blonde hair from turning green. It works for me but her hair type might be different from mine so it might not do anything

How do u all eat all this is one week I don't understand
So we hardly grocery shop.. sadly we eat almost all our meals out the last couple of years because we all have different schedules and days off and I’m too tired after long days at work (I don’t know how you do it!) It wasn’t always like that! But I started to work from home and did a “grocery haul” with my 18 yr old son. Only child but when his friends come over you’d think I was feeding 14! To feed 4 teenagers and 2 of the 4 definitely struggle to eat so I get all the stuff they can’t normally get and they do appreciate it! I was stocking the freezer with meat and of course with my son he was throwing in stuff left and right! I thought of you though In that moment… our cart was soo high! The employees were like can we get you another cart and I refused to buy two carts of food for three ppl and two dogs lol
You can use parchment paper on your baking trays instead of cooking spray to save time on cleanup.

Hi Becky, I’d say she does get cranky at times but her Husband seems very supportive and she also has family around. If I’m honest I worry she will ‘burn out’ because even on holidays or trips to amusement parks she is always on duty. There never seems to be a break. Having said that, maybe she is the kind of person who thrives on activity and being organised. No matter, she is an inspiration to many of us who have faltered with home duties. I’ve certainly got more done around the house. Best wishes 😃🐨🦘

I just love how Josh and you interact with one another. My husband and I do the same but we have 2 dogs and 3 cats. We were like you, we had a hard time having children so we have animals instead. My parents had 8 kids but they made the older one look after the younger ones do they had no childhood. But I clearly see that you didn't have a lot of children so they can be your babysitter, cleaners and food makers while you sat back and watched. That is why I like watching your channel because you clearly wanted children because you both love children.
I just recently started working at Walmart and the reason that your carts get put back is because after a certain amount of time we have to put things back and/or bring them to claims.

My kids sometimes dont want to eat and i end up letting them eat what they want somedays then I remember what you have said before “not the healthiest but they are fed” and I definitely have stuck by that! Hopefully they grow out of it

To help with Bree’s hair, (cosmetologist here) you can prewet her hair and add some clarifying conditioner in her hair. Let her swim with it in. Wash after the swim day is done, and it should help with the dry feeling and if she gets a green tint to it.
I know some people can’t get the products I can because of my license but usually for products you can get Paul Mitchell, Matrix, and Biolage anywhere. Might be different ingredients in a slight way but those brands are sold in licensed stores and salons.
