I understand why people Played and Still play DL, its a nice experience and feels like an RPG. But damn the money required to get Packs, especially compared to Master duel, is insane.

grinding gems is the key i only spent 50 bucks but i had 10k gems
@@DuelistWave the thing is, its Not easy for people to Grind gems that dont like to play every day. I dont want to make Duel links Bad for you, its a game, and if you enjoy it thats fine. I just found for myself that the Master duel economy is much better for me. Duel links i spent 50 bucks a month, Master duel i have spent 50 bucks since Release in January and i still have all decks and every card that i want. The games are Not for the same audience, i know that. MD just works better for me.

I saved up waiting for the discout that came with the update, and on a different box, I went through nearly the same thing. The urs were nearly useless to me, and I just wanted a single copy of a sr so that I could reset the box and go for 3 copies of it. I’m on 30 packs left, and it’s still at 2.
Won't you use your SR dream ticket to get if that was the only card you wanted.

No, I have no copies, and need 3. I also need srs out of another box, and since I didn’t summon on that one, I’m gonna get one from it, and I’ll only have to reset once since it’s a mini box.

@@R3in_Ch are you serious? No amount of grinding could make you competitive unless you focused on one deck and by the time you complete it the banlist already hit it
Yeah. The grinding needed is just insane. You obviously don't have to go into every box.. But just one box 3x the UR you need for the deck is 400$. How is that okay? Sure just play the same rogue deck for months on months. That doesn't get stale at all. If you're going for a deck without spending every waking hour grinding, the best thing is to wait for the UR tickets. By the time you have unlocked the deck it's limited to an unplayable state. Fun. It should be allowed to complain about the insane prizes lol, why shouldn't it? I downloaded it at release and played it for years :)
@@rastafari2k3 Sounds like you haven't been smart with your gems tbh. But I suppose it's because I simply enjoy playing decks a few months at a time.
I usually just go with 2x of the UR from main boxes(if there's a very competitive deck in there I want), or focus on miniboxes. I'm doing pretty fine on Ranked doing just that. Dream Tickets definitely help soften the blow on gems, so I can get the staples I need.
As much as the monetization on DL absolutely sucks, I'm still having tons of fun playing while I'm on commute to work.

I mean, I'm F2P and play both, Duel Links more casually, but it isn't like you absolutely need to have the most optimized decks. I've gotten hosed by people playing the most suboptimal builds because they always draw their one off, with my perfect ratios decks.
I love ur videos they are so helpful to and its nice that u keep us up date on the meta and stuff

This campaign was the first time I have spent money in duel links in a very long time. I'm talking like three or four years.
If they keep this momentum up I'll keep spending money (with a budget of course) but this time I spent around $60 just to show my support.
10 free packs plus one guaranteed UR card was a positive thing in my eyes. And also half gem sales coming back extremely frequently is always good so that is why I spent $60 on this game.
Side note. I still stay away from selection boxes, however. They are still extremely predatory
The new box deal is the worst one the one after the 5th is always the best to go through boxes. Still expensive compared to master duel

yes, i didn't have the trisula, super poly or rota bundles yet.
as a free to play player i'm still on the first box, and i still haven't seen pot of duality. but i have at least 1 copy of every SR card atm. when i claimed my 10 free packs, my guaranteed UR card was Decode Talker, who was great for auto dueling!
Until DL adds a crafting system like in MD I will never spend a dime on this game. It’s just not worth it. Gotta spend upwards of $400-500 per box to get all of the cards. In MD I can literally spend $70-80 and have everything I need to build a full deck. DL is such a scam
you need to be smart how you invest in this, DK has money and he doesn't care that much, also you need to be lucky, i got 3 cynet mining with 7,5k gems, i didn't spend a dollar in the box and almost have all the cards i want and still have now 10k gems
We tried to tell you bundles were half the price for 10 packs (even if you already have the "promo card" it is still 50% cheaper)
Honestly I'd rather spend an extra $7 for a third EX structure deck rather than spending 1000 gems

Why do people still play duel links? It's way more expensive than master duel and you get less cards. And the rarities are also insane. As long as a card is not completely useless, it has instantly UR rarity. Compared to master duel this whole game is a ultimate scam imo.

They should just add auto duel to gate, its not like us getting some gems back is going to ruin some big marketing picture
It's hard to justify playing Duel Links when casual players are asked to either stick to the same deck for 3 months, or fork out 350 USD for something "fresh". Moreso when you're only interested in PvP, since PvE events are as fun as watching grass grow.
I'm f2p. This box is actually really decent for f2p and Salads (what I'm using) are completely f2p and very strong.

As a master duel player I was considering installing duel links to try it out but watching this I think I'll pass. Looks fun but got damn looks like a money pit.
As a former DL player and current MD player don't install DL unless you want to be a whale. If you are lucky in DL, you can get the cards that you want but luck won't help that much in the long run.
I was lucky. I saved up 13K gems. I am down to 2K gems and got 3 cynet mining, 3 circle, 2 healtelo, 2 decode talker, 2 duality, 3 lady debug. I was very lucky to get Cynet Mining from my free guaranteed UR.

When it 1st came out, I used to spend a ton of gems until I didnt care anymore. Besides crackdown will be release at a future set

As a whale and playing duel links since it's inception 2017 I can say this game sucks for F2P players bcz grinding will send you to shadow realm and by the time you come out of it meta is going to be completely different so its better to play MD if you are new to DL.

As always its for consistency and since it lets u search any cyberse its crazy but imo 2 should be fine. Theres a code monster in the structure deck that lets u search for any cynet card if u use that monster for a "code" monster
You can get away with 2, no need to go broke to get the third.

Duel links has an odd ban list where limited to 3 means u can't have more than 3 "limited to 3" cards in a deck even if they are different cards
