Hi,and tanks, flawless like usual you save me a lot of time finding a way to compress and look nice, because the other way with the screw sticking sides of the battery ai never liked, I appreciate your details 👍
Loved watching you build the battery.
Hope it was helpful for you!
@@offgrid_power yes, of course.
Very good video! I would only use an insulator between the cells because the foil is relatively thin and the metal housing of the cells is connected to the positive pole. A short circuit cannot be ruled out if the foil is damaged!
Thanks for the advice!
Seeing that my swollen Sanben’s 320’s are really 285-290 and only 1/4” taller than our 280’s, I’d say you got ripped good too. I paid $185 ea incl shpg to USA and got a $140 worth.
Yeah, we knew the risks we were taking in trying these. We were VERY sceptical that they wouldn't reach the stated capacity, but wanted to try anyway to at least make these videos to help folks out who were considering them. :)
Yes Akb LiFePo4 👍🔋⚡
:) :)
hi guys another great video what 12 volt charger are you using in this video? do you have a link.
Here's the link to the charger: geni.us/AdjustableCharger
so you set the 12v charger to 13.5V and around 32A to bring it up to 90%SOC and then a different 3.65v charger and parallel the cells for the remaining top balancing?
Yep, pretty much. :)
@@offgrid_power thanks! I asked because i am new to this and i will build my first 48v bank in the next couple months so I'm in the learning stage
@@offgrid_power i have another question, why didn't you use this same charger set at 3.65v later on?
We wanted one with a higher amperage so it charged faster. ☺️
@@offgrid_power another question, why did you use a different charger for the top up at 3.65V?
I see you are using a converted server psu to charge with. Could you share the supplier you bought from please
you can just buy them on alieexpres delivery from spain like in 10 days. costs around 100 euro. I just bought one. But the leads are a bit thin (gets pretty hot at full bore).
Here's the link to the charger: geni.us/AdjustableCharger
@@offgrid_power thanks
I'm looking for LiFePO4 420Ah. Where i buy them.
I think you might struggle to find cells that are actually 420AH in capacity. We haven't yet. :)
^."!
:)
My guess is about 290ah
:)
I still think you got ripped off..... I hope not but.... 420....seems impossible without an increase in size.
Exactly. I thought the 420ah was a typo.
i am curious myself. My money is on rippoff. That would be around 140 ah extra capacity. That would be a MAJOR breakthrough.
Yeah, we knew the risks we were taking in trying these. We were VERY sceptical that they wouldn't reach the stated capacity, but wanted to try anyway to at least make these videos to help folks out who were considering them. :)
@@offgrid_power Oh I understand that and we thank you for it so that we don't get scammed. If the capacity is true that's great! More bang and less room in the van.... I have a pair of 200s myself for a total of 400 if I could get that in a package that small that would be terrific. You can never have enough amp hours.
looking back on it maybe my comment was a little blunt I understand what you're trying to do and we really appreciate it We really do.
No problem at all! Your comment wasn't blunt. :)
Hopefully these videos are helpful! We'll be posting the results video from the tests of these cells this weekend.
