Had to insert music at 15:12 over the video due to copyright strike. Sorry for the inconvenience! Looking for more SNES recommendations? Here's all of my SNES episode's so far - tinyurl.com/snes-videos
3:34 I also noticed the Guardian Heroes music here. While it's Sega Saturn and not SNES, I'll always be happy to hear the soundtrack from this untouchable game!
Now when I see a UA-cam video covering these games in the context of games nobody talks about, I can say, “Well, That Video Games Show talked about them already, so…”
They're close to a toss up in beat 'em ups for me. The 3 Bare Knuckle/Streets of Rage games rule, as does Hyperstone Heist, and 3 Golden Axes. The SNES does have the 3 Final Fights, 3 Rushing Beats, Turtles in Time, King Of Dragons, Knights of the Round, Captain Commando, Sonic Blast Man 2 (1 sucks)...
There was a game that my dad hired at a video store as a kid and I loved it. I have been looking for it in recent years to see why I liked it. It started in a town and that is what I recall. I can see now the game was Soul Blazer Thanks as I have been searching for the title, now have to find that classic game
I clicked on this video to see if Peace Keepers was mentioned. I'm pleasantly surprised its the first game. You didn't mention the fact that you can change the color values of the sprites though. I spent more time playing with the sprite color tables then playing the game as a kid. I loved it.
14:19 Editing was a tad sloppier than usual but we still love you. I've never heard of Spriggan Powered, Unholy Knight or Monstania and they all look like good times
Never thought I'd see the day that Legend gets spoken of as a... honestly, even just a decent game. The first review I read of it said that it wasn't much, this may be the first look at it that makes me even slightly curious to check it out as it, of all games, have actually been re-released for modern consoles and PC via Steam.
Soul Blazer is so underrated, even among fans of the Quintet Trilogy. The box art and name makes people think it's a generic JRPG but it has so much personality. How many games let you go into a tree's dream and listen to them talk about the birds who tell them about the world they can't themselves explore? The dwarf town really stuck with me too, they only live for a few years but nobody minds because they live fulfilling lives and don't waste a day.
I get a kick out of the fact that Soul Balzer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma were so good that no one wants to admit that there's a fourth game and just call it a trilogy so as not to taint their legacy.
Great video as ever bro & nice list of games. Never heard of - 'The Peace Keepers' before. Downloaded the Japan version apparently there's some differences due to localisation on the western port. My type of game, my era. Love them 2d beat em ups from that time.
7:16 I remember Legend, it was jumping kick, jumping kick and more jumping kicks, but the game was beautiful. Licensing issues with soul blazer? By the way, this game is great, I think it's the best of the trilogy (and you can "vacuum" the yellow gems with the L or R button)
I'm pretty new to this channel and I enjoy these lists a lot. Say, have you ever talked about the Dual Orb Series or Dragon View? All three are rather overlooked SNES RPG's to me at least
Man, Cosmo Gang hits those of us past a certain age hard with memories of the physical gun game that was ubiquitous in arcades back in the day where those little critters would slowly inch forward to steal your crates and you had to shoot them in the mouth to keep them back. The gameplay is somewhat recreated in the SNES game but remembering the machine and the lights & SFX really takes me back!
Love your selection but there are not Waygan paradise and Ganpuru gunman proof from you yet ☹️ try it! If you like Zelda you'll love Ganpuru gunmans proof... About rpg... Bounty Sword worthy check it out, nobody talk about it, serriusly NOBODY, Is a good game, sadly never left Japan and there is no translator yet... Traverse Starligth and praise is not big deal, but is graphically impressive. Thanks for another SNES video.
I remember when Unholy Night came out. UA-camrs I saw considered it buggy & incomplete I recall. Legend is available on modern consoles. It's bundled with Iron Commando which I think is a much better beat em' up. Legend seemed pretty lame to me. The move set was limited & the controls just seemed choppy.
Yeah, I don't get what looks so bad about Spriggan...it looks real fun. :o edit: i feel like theres a in-joke here with Soul Blazer and the whole segment being jovial piano music... XD

Slayers. Treasure of Rudras(Rudra no Hihou)
Love the choice of music. I picture it being as part of the game…
i was like "whats the joke why is there funny music during this whole game"
3:34 I also noticed the Guardian Heroes music here. While it's Sega Saturn and not SNES, I'll always be happy to hear the soundtrack from this untouchable game!
How'd you get a copyright strike over a SNES game made by Quartet? Aren't they gone now?
Im a simple man
- Sees That Video Games Show posts a new video
- Drop everything to watch and download some cool new roms
Hope you find something new!
Soul Blazer has a special place in my heart, such an awesome game with amazing music. The whole Quintet trilogy is amazing.
Love the recommendations
Thanks for watching!
Recently beat it for the first time. Ending is surprisingly deep.
Important fun fact: The final boss theme of Mystic Ark is pretty damn epic.
The dungeon battle theme is crazy too, legitimately could be a boss theme
No one talks about these games but we're glad that you do. Spriggan Powered?? Never heard of it but it looks great.
Hope you enjoy it if you get round to playing it!
I'm so glad I always see your videos on my feed.
Thanks for watching =)

Good choice of games to share, I haven't heard of most of these. Soulblazer is the fire though!
I'm happy you found something new!
Your videos are always a delight, TVGS.
Cheers AJ!
I personally think that the genesis was the king of beat em ups, but since rpgs are my favorite genre. The snes is my favorite console
Genesis has my favorite beat em up: Streets of Rage 2
@omegaweapon116 i couldn't agree more. What an epic soundtrack too!
@@omegaweapon116 Even my Mom and her dog like Streets of rage 2

Another Banger, Keep it up. love these
Appreciate it!
You always give me new games to play no matter the hardware
My pleasure man!
Thanks for another video man
No problem 👍
Yay a TVGS upload! 😄

Love watching your content my man!
Thanks man, I appreciate that!
Damn. You dug deep. Nice one!! And thanks for the effort.
Thanks for watching man!
I love this channel ❤
Cheers!
All of these games look interesting and some of them I haven't heard of. This is one of the reasons why I love this channel!
Hope you enjoy them if you play them =)

Ignore the reviews, it's awesome!
It's nice to see Legend get some love. It's a short but very enjoyable game.
Such a solid beat em up!
Wow, that's four games added to my list (Peace Keepers, Legend, Cosmo Gang, Soul Blazer). Thank you very much!
Have fun with them!
Thanks for sharing more great games on SNES. I really wish the NA version of the console looked like that one instead.
Thanks for watching!

Bro making these videos faster than I can download the roms 😂😂😂
😅
The all time GOAT
The all time great console!

Man this mystic ark graphics look sweet
Love the visual style. Apart from the drab combat screens!

Such a great game!
@@thatvideogamesshow everytime I enter in a retro cycle it's one of the must games to play (and finish!)
Thank you for the Arabian Nights recommendation. I'm definitely gonna check it out.
Hope you enjoy it!
I have Soul Blazer, and I liked it, despite the progress of the character is through milestones.
One SNES game I never hear anyone talk about is Yoshi's Safari. It's a fun rail shooter and one of the few super scope games.
Mentioned that one in a previous episode. Had a lot of fun with it!
Arabian Nights was such a surprise! Thanks!!
Hope you have fun with it!
@@thatvideogamesshow You're so kind. Thank you. Great games.
Love the SNES pop n twinbee was awesome
Love me some Pop N Twinbee

I don't think I have to be honest. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check them out for a future episode =)
this video is crazy!! vut most if them are fantranslated..
This really should have just been a Japan only video.
I don't see people talking about Dark Law: Meaning of Death, I really like that game
Never heard of that one, I'll have to check it out!
Soulblazer mentioned 🎉
One of the greats!
Wow these are some great games!
Glad you like them!

I never tried out the arcade version unfortunately! Sounds awesome with the physical gun!
How on earth was Sprigan Powered panned for the visuals?? The game is beautiful
It was ridiculous. Easily one of the best looking SNES games.
oh shit SNES let's go
Hope you enjoyed the games!
15:08 has the exact same UI as Actraiser I. Interesting
100%
Some deep cuts in this list, nice.
Glad you like them!
SNES games with TVGS the SNES/SFC was a RPG Juggernaut
One of the best consoles for RPGs!
@@thatvideogamesshowSNES/PS1/PS2 the best RPG Juggernauts
Metal Max's font type looks like Earthbound's
Honestly, 7th Saga has always been high up on my "most hated" list... but I actually kinda wanna try Mystic Ark now.
It's well worth giving a go man =)
The First one. Rushing beat ashura is the japonese version and haver músic. Its awsomr
Peace keeper used to be called braw brothers

It reminds me of street of rage 👍
100%!
The only console that I have all the roms with all the region.
So many great games!
14:18 hahaaa.
By the way I think you'd also help many like me if you added a list of music used in your videos. Anyway, thank you.
i couldn't get into metal max xeno vita, but this version seems neat
It's really good, you should try out the DS version as well if you can as it's really similar to the SNES game.
I remember when Unholy Night came out. UA-camrs I saw considered it buggy & incomplete I recall.

Legend seemed pretty lame to me. The move set was limited & the controls just seemed choppy.
Legend is insanely good. it is slow? yeah, it is unfair? no doubt about it. But it's so good that you even forget these little problems
I'll second that!
What about Genjuu Ryodan? Thats is super niche even in Japan
Added Unholy Night to my snes folder
Hope you have fun with it!
Man, wich emulator to snes you use to desaturate the vibrant colors of roms?
I use SNES9X
Yeah, I don't get what looks so bad about Spriggan...it looks real fun. :o
edit:
i feel like theres a in-joke here with Soul Blazer and the whole segment being jovial piano music... XD
Video got Copyrighted so had to add music over the top of it unfortunately.
@thatvideogamesshow wait..what?? HOW? It's Soul Blazer..its an old game!
ugh..this platform continues to be garbage for us.
I traded up a bunch of snes games for this one. 😮😮😮😮 Peace Keepers.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Is there co-op mode in Legend?
There is yes.
@@thatvideogamesshow Thank you :)
What is that intro music PLEASE
The Tekken 2 intro song!
No Run Saber or Robotrek?
