I'm a dietitian but I'm one of the older ones. I only have a bachelor of science and applied science and I was able to do my internship. While I was in college with my four-year degree. I first got a 2-year associate degree in dietetic technology and then went on the whole process. Only took me 5 years and I sat for the RD's exam and passed. It's almost crazy to think you need a master's now for this same degree, but I guess that's where the world is going now. I don't think I would have had done it if I had to do it how you did it?🍎🍏

I’m so glad I can relate. And I’m so happy I stumbled upon your video! Im a daughter of immigrants (my parents moved from India to here in the Us before I was born). I’m going back to school to change careers.. I already have an associates in science degree in another field. I was going into nursing school but figured out it isn’t for me. Im a mother and married.. and I only need to take my statistics course this fall so I can apply to a university nearby that is accredited for dietetics. I’m really hoping this path doesn’t take too long (I’m already in my early 30s). It will be my first bachelor’s and masters degree!

Good info. I am debating on changing careers from business to being a clinical dietician/clinical nutritionist. How was the RD exam like? How long did you study for before taking it? Did you pass the first time? I have a family so it’s going to be tough if I decide to go on this journey. 😅

So you said throught your schooling you maintained a 4.0 GPA.
For me it was always a 3.0, and I think my FINAL GPA when I finished highschool was 2.95. Is this going to make me less desirable on applications? Do you think the classes might be hard for someone who wasn't exactly A+ smart?
Please be completely honest because I want to get into this field but I am so scared of how I'm gonna do.
To put into context my GPA was mostly low because I dealt with a lot of outside issues, was on/off mental health education, almost dropped out at one point, and overall put hardly any effort in. So technically I'm pretty smart but in HS I was just completely distracted.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated

You definitely do not need a 4.0 . If this is what you want to do, go for it! Don’t let grades stop you❤️

It's very rare to get a 4.0 gpa throughout college.
