IT'S NOT WHAT WE THINK ABOUT GOD-IT'S WHAT GOD THINKS ABOUT US
A phenomenon in the quest for God originates out of the human heart. It's called religion. Religion is a byproduct of individual spiritual leaders who have the idea they are going to help God out by injecting their own thoughts about spiritual things.
Unfortunately, religion becomes a prison of someone's preconceived ideas about what God thinks about us. Religion is a form of control, so to do that, there must be rules that you must keep. if you don't keep the rules that an individual spiritual leader has come up with, then the threat is that you will be cut off from God.
Some of the major religions of history would even excommunicate you from the church; therefore, you would have no way to come to God until you came back to them.
This forms the background of where we have come from spiritually. Somewhere in the deep recesses of our thought process is a fear of God instead of the love of God. When the scriptures tell us that we are to fear God, that refers to honoring Him, obeying trust, and submitting to the plans he has already laid out for us.
Because God has good thoughts toward us, according to Jeremiah 29:11, and declares himself to tell the truth, so he does not lie. You can count on the fact that he will bring you to a good conclusion.
No matter what you think about God today, the angels of the Lord and the Holy Spirit are wooing you to him pretty good give a shot herestep-by-step. He's drawing you closer.
Remember, he's got good thoughts and plans for you. It doesn't get any better than that.
