I feel like theyre more like fanon interpretation characters, like it would take some of the magic out of their characterization to give either of them actual backstories bc its best left to the imagination
personally I like the idea they split and come back together over the smallest of things, and in this case it might have been a decade or two since they saw each other and this was all that was needed to bring them back together

Everyone is whining about how rushed this “stripes on stripes” thing is, but not realizing that it’s just a joke. This isn’t supposed to be taken super seriously, it’s a joke about all the ship tease moments they had in that competition episode and a joke on how ship-happy fans immediately shipped them right off the bat.

I would've liked it if we had a 3rd season season 1 - Horse exploring Centaurworld, introducing us to the Nowhere King season 2 - Rider developing the Human world with Waterbaby, those 2 thief characters, Woman, Becky Apples, and the introduction of the General season 3 - A collage of the two seasons, developing Nowhere King more, Horse meeting with the Beartaur to find out how to recruit centaurs and developing Woman and General more, with its finale. also, a finale where Horse fuses with Rider to stop her from bleeding out and having them finally 'be together'.
I love how zulius is just so thirsty and blatantly gay like its not subtle at ALL and thats great for a kids cartoon, his personality doesnt feel 1 dinensional like: "im gay" but its super in your face but not in a forced way and I love it

The whole thing that was pushing zulius and splendip apart was the Be best competition due to how competitive they both are. when horse took the prize and left with it, it basically ended the competition as it relied on using the same sash everyday. So now that the one thing keeping them apparat was over they had no reason not to be together

I think they had to streamline a lot of arcs and such this season. I get a strong feeling they originally wanted three seasons, maybe more. Personally I wouldn't have minded if they cut out the whole bird-taur episode to flesh out some other things, like Stripes on Stripes.
To be fair, I think it was more the fact that the Glitter Cats ditched Zulius _for_ Splendib after he made them what they were that got under Zulius's skin at the time. Typically, if someone's friends bailed on them once they were no longer "of use" to them, only to start hanging around someone else, the someone would naturally assume the "someone else" to be an a-hole just like the friends that ditched them, whether or not they discover that not to be the case later on.
