A tremendous thank you to CBS News for making so much of this extended coverage available to us on this 50th anniversary. And thank you as well for keeping the full credit roll at the end of the splashdown coverage, paying tribute to all the people whose hard work made this coverage happen. This has been a wonderful visit to the past and I can't thank you enough.

Is she really worth your time to write or type a letter and mail it? She's probably a young local weather grad within her first few years of being a "weather women." But if that is more valuable use of your time, you're free.

Thank you so much! watched it when it happened, and enjoyed it just as much a half century later.
Beautifully remastered video, as clear as the live broadcast 50 years ago.
Yes - Though I Don't Remember It Being That Cloudy @ Splashdown...! But I DO Remember How Intense Waiting For Ionization Blackout To End Was!😬
This is amazing. Thank you for posting.
Incredible gives me the chills
RIP Michael Collins & your quick wit ! 3:37:10

Why doesn't CBS NEWS make this full coverage available to the public on DVDs! What's there excuse!
Actually DVDs have been released in the past but streaming is free

How many LEMs or LMS are still on the moon?
Six
When Nixon arrives at the carrier, they mentioned an Admiral McCain who greets him. He was senator McCain's father, wasn't he?
Yes
Thanks Captain Houston. (archive of naval postgraduate school 2004, saving apollo 11)
declassified facts . Mike Collins said 'luck' is real.
3:09:44 That is the silliest Western Electric commercial I ever seen!!!
Is it from 11 To 17 missing Apollo 13.😢
Wish we could have seen them coming out of the sky and parachutes opening and coming down.
You can see that for Apollo 14.
Nixon walks just like Bob Hope.
gentle way trying to put an end on the cold war
Where is the parachute?

WHERE Are The FROGMEN...?
18:50 hahaha!
I'm just glad they were able to get a tan while they were in outer space.
They were probably on coco beach the whole time.
Moon germs 😳 lol
Increíble el destino... Nixon recoge los laureles de Kennedy, su rival.
Vietnam war not far away.
Ongoing actually
Yes It WAS!😞 My Brother Was There...
@Fiasco No. The Space program started under Kennedy and continued under Nixon. The Vietnam War started during the Johnson Presidency
Shame about the religious bs.
Sadly, the entire beginning of the broadcast would never be shown now because of the name God.
Well they twisted the scripture anyway 🙄
It doesn't make sense
huh?
@ceroandone GREAT ARGUMENT! I cant dispute that revelatory argument you just provided to mankind, truly a great giant leap for mankind you provided!!!
