  • How to adjust the suspension on an Arctic Cat Procross/Proclimb Snowmobiles, which would cover all the F XF ZR and M models.
I have a 2015 ZR8000, and my girls's sled is a 2012 F1100. We switched sleds on our last ride, and we discovered her sled is riding a LOT firmer than mine, mine glides right over bumps and imperfections and hers is transmitting everything right into the seat. Other than the engines, the sleds are almost identical so it's just a question of setup and adjusting everything.
To set a base line, we measured the amount of sag when she got on both sleds, and then had her hop around on both of them to see how much the skid would compress. This confirmed that her sled was setup a lot stiffer, so I got to adjusting things:
    - Adjusted the front coil springs
    - Set the rear torsion springs to the weakest amount of preload
    - Took ALL the preload out of the center shock spring
    - Greased all the pivot points in the skid to help it move easier.
To confirm this helped, we redid the initial test of skid sag/compression as she hops around, and we DOUBLED the amount of travel in the skid. It now moves around 2", whereas before it was only moving a bit over an inch.
It still might not be as good as mine, but it's a lot better than it was. She's happy, I'm happy.
