Tbh I think this matchup is nago favored. Especially after the cube speed nerfs. Nago gets to play pretty stupid in this matchup but doesn’t get to play once he’s at blood level 3
So, I've noticed something about the comment section and videos featuring Asuka: Everytime it is a video of Gobou's Asuka, the comment section is full of salty and tilted people. But when videos are posted of other Asuka players (from NA and EU), there are few comments regarding the Asuka player's performance, and most of the comments appear positive and are directed towards the non-Asuka player. So, either these people who watch these videos don't want to see Asuka winning anything; saw the Asuka player winning, got angry and invited their T witter troll friends to this comment section to air their grievances; doesn't want the character to be strong; doesn't want the character to exist in the game; or, there is some sort of player bias that needs to be addressed. Which one shall it be..?
Gobou has relatively consistent gameplay and really locks the opponent down. Other asuka's aren't as good as he is. Either it has to do with the gameplay, or they just see stuff on the screen and waffle and yap unnecessarily. Your assumption is probably right. There's probably like one guy who was salty after fighting gobou though, that doesn't seem like something that wouldn't happen. But I doubt most people here are even in celestial in the first place.
The strive comment section is hella biased. They'll watch Sol f.S. someone for 60% of their hp in 4 hits, then immediately whine about Nago. They'll claim the games made for babies but immediately whine about any complex characters win con. They'll look at completely fake block strings and unironically claim it's the strongest pressure they've ever seen. The only truth about a huge part of this channels comment section and twitter warriors are that a majority barely play or have never even owned the game.
@snakenash150 Your post contains such a high level of *irony* , that I will refer to it as a "Metallic Asteroid" of misinformation. There are no references to Asuka in-game that relates to cards; for example, Bookmark refers to a thin material one uses to keep their progress in a physical book - therefore, your "card pun" makes no sense (or any other card references). Moreover, I was contemplating on whether or not I should respond to you, but you have me curious at this point. So tell me, what players are doing the exact patterns, execution, and strategies as Gobou, and why is Gobou the *only* Asuka player to win a major tournament(s)? Why did Gobou - the best Asuka player in the world for the past *8 months* - and nobody has gotten to their level yet, say that Asuka is not easy to pick up and is not recommended for beginners, but also that not anybody can just pick up Asuka and do what he does? Last, with your statements, I doubt that you even own the game; but if you do, then I highly doubt that you're above floor 5, sorry... please actually learn about the game and character(s) before engaging in the fallacy, "Appeal to Ridicule."

I wanted to try Asuka just for funny friendly matches but dang, I didn't know you can draw cards and use them so fast. I always thought you had to let the whole animation play out. That and I sucked at managing my mana. Lol Yet, I was still good enough to beat his Stage 9 Arcade fight at least.
GENERALLY you can destroy the cubes. But the asuka probably wont just sit there and take it. Your best bet is trying to win round start and pressuring from there. Otherwise, you need incredible movement to get around. Break the cubes ONLY AT FULLSCREEN so he doesnt followup with a normal. Lastly pray. Pray to daisuke.
@yakatsusensei325 I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but this is not good advice for what to do against Asuka/The cubes. Every character has their own way of dealing with the cubes - even more so now that the hurtboxes are bigger and they travel slower. Also, most of Asuka's gatlings into cubes aside from CS or 6HS are fake, so 6P is typically your best friend in this MU - depending on the distance your character is from the Asuka player. Moreover, the cubes can be ridiculously easy to break at full screen away, depending on the character you use, but you don't want to *only* try to break them at full screen distance. 1/2 screen and close range are good distances to go for breaking through cubes with a normal or 6P > special move - the special move (depending on what it does, such as low profile like STBT) will absorb any follow-up cubes and CH the Asuka player. 1/4 screen away is kind of tricky to counter or 6P, especially for those with 6Ps slower than 9F. And although it's not recommended to backdash or mash against Asuka's pressure, the last thing you want to do is let the Asuka player get away with fake pressure and blockstrings. Think of it like vs. I-No, if you don't try to stop her approaches from all distances, and just think that you can block her mixups all day; than you are going to be fighting for your life unnecessarily - the difference is you're trying to stop Asuka from locking you dow that begins with throwing cubes. The last thing you want to do is give too much respect to an Asuka player and allow them to steal games off of you for it - but you do need a lot of patience in the Asuka match-up, depending on the skill level of the player. Asuka is one of the biggest knowledge-check character in the game, alongside Faust and Bedman? - and I find it perplexing that the people who hate facing this character do not even lab vs. the character - yet, complain about the match-up. Labbing counterplay and playing various Asuka players is going to be the only way to do better against him. Last, no other Asuka player in the world is on Gobou's level; for many Asuka players, you can wait out their pressure and look for openings - not so much with Gobou, though... they go by the alias *Solitaire Ogre* for a reason.
