Never mind if you don't have neem cake powder. Croton plants prefer soil that allows excess water to drain freely. Avoid soil that becomes waterlogged or retains too much moisture, as this can lead to root rot. Good drainage can be achieved by adding organic matter such as compost.
Removing so much of soil may damage the root ball.
I think that is what happened to mine 😢I pulled to much soil out they dropped after repotting😮
