Lucky Luciano once against proving that's he's both dandy and the Maestro - he did this kind of glittering, glamorous, thriilling, heterophonic orchestral piece better than anyone. Trouble is, now every moderately talented composer since then can do little else but turn out slick but pale and epigonic imitations. But thank you for posting!
The assemblage of the four pieces doesn't work, with a preponderance of trumpet in 2 and 4. Furthermore, there's not a lot of contrast between the 4 movements.
